Lovely video! My SIL n I have been using caulk in 12"x18" thin molds to decorate furniture for last few years as I have a construction background. We found to remove place them face down and pull pink mold up and away instead of tugging lace from pink mold. Peel pink mold back so it is nearly touching the back of itself so lace is easily coaxed out by pink mold rolling away from it. Gently hold the lace down with a ruler (or pallet knife on small pieces) against work surface as u coax pink mold backwards. Hope this helps a bit... It may sound complex but do it a couple times and it will be clear❤

Hiya, thanks for the inspiration ❤ was that pva you stamped on first and did you start brushing off the gold leaf before the glue dried? Did you coat them with anything in the end too? Thanks so much
Thank you, SerenitySam 💜 I believe I used gold leaf glue, which needs to dry a bit so it becomes tacky. Then you apply gold leaf and wait for everything to dry. I didn't coat the goldleaf as this is a decorative piece that is not handled much.

What type of paint
Chalk paint for the background (Vintage Paint by JDL - Warm Cream) and acrylic metallic paint as a final coat (Vintage Paint - Metallic Silver).

What was the sealer and topcoat?
Actually, I didn't use a top coat here because this metallic paint does not need it.
How do you keep from having brush strokes and what did you topcoat it with?
Use watered down glue to apply the napkins and then seal with a water based top coat. I used Vintage Paint by JDL - Primer & Sealer.

Have you tried mixing the mica into the acrylic paste and then spread it onto the mold?
Yes, that also works, but you do need a bit more mica for this. Even if you only apply it on the mold, most of the acrylic gets colored by it.

Thank you for posting this.. where I’m at we don’t get flexible modelling paste. Would it be possible to to spray paint the lace after it’s removed from the mould?
You are welcome 😊 Spray paint would work, but perhaps use primer first, so it will not wipe off. Or spray chalk paint.

This sis gorgeous ❤ Question for you: when you stick the paper, is it okay if the pieces of paper overlap? Tia!
💜 Try to have as little overlap as possible, because the overlap will be darker than the rest of the napkin. Think of it as a jigsaw puzzle, with pieces fitting as tightly as possible. Or you could try napkins with white background. When you paint the backs of the glued on napkins, the white paint will blend in with the white napkin background.
