Let them grow and snip the connection to the main plant right away (best for berry production on the main plant while possibly making a new pla...

      It's your choice, if you for sure want extra strawberry plants, I would wait. If you are ok risking the daughters plants dying you could cut now. Runners can die if you cut the link to the mother plant too early, so be aware of that. After 2 weeks of root formation in the soil the new daughters plants should be fine to be cut though.

    Saw some people doing this with theirs and getting good results. I started doing it also; plants seem to stay healthier and are overall easier to manage and harvest. I think if you do it from the start and make sure to be consistent, the fear of snapping a stem is less relevant than having to bend or train a vine to start growing vertically once it's already vined over. These plants get so heavy once they're adults lol

    • @mikesyarden3187
      @mikesyarden3187 Рік тому

      You don't need to bury them. But the sun will slowly damage the hoses over a long period of time and that's 1 reason why they should be buried, especially if they would be in direct sun for most of the day. Mulch would give me protection from evaporation as well, and that's what I would do for a flower garden. But this is my vegetable garden and I don't want mulch in it because of the large chunks of wood in mulch.
