if you want your weapons to have shadows, you can make the main camera only show the gun but secondary camera show everything including the gun! :)

Another tip i would give is to actually go through unity learn. It has a base tutorial that gets your familiar with actually using unity as a software. All the things mentioned here are great but you need to be able to handle the software before you start trying to use it or else you are just trying to run before you've learned to walk and that is incredibly demotivating. Also the tutorials are actually REALLY good, seriously, they are just the right level to be easy and not frustrating but still staying engaging and fun.
