Motorcycle Touring | Total Costs for Full-Time 9 Months Travelling Australia
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
How much does it cost, as a solo female motorcyclist, to tour full time by motorcycle in Australia? Well, today, on my 9 month anniversary of full time motorcycle travel around Australia I'll share the numbers with you. I spent time free motocamping. I spent time at farmstays. I spent time in regional caravan parks. I travelled many thousands of kilometres. I fueled the bike. I fueled myself. I...
Motorcycle Touring for PTSD and Mental Health Benefits
Переглядів 7 тис.3 роки тому
In today's video, I wanted to share not only the gorgeous Mt Roland in Tasmania but share how motorcycle touring has helped with my PTSD and general mental health. Touring Australia by motorcycle as a female solo motorcyclist this year has really helped channel my focus into being consciously aware of my surroundings and staying safe while riding my motorbike. The benefits of motorcycle touring...
Drama on the mountain | Motorcycle Tour Australia | Her Motorcycle Adventures

Well that didn't go as planned! One moment I'm filming a segment for Her Motorcycle Adventures. The next, I'm lost and stuck up a mountain. I guess nobody can accuse me of doing things by halves! In this episode I put aside the usual solo female adventure motorcycling and, by request, set about retracing the events leading up to the incident. Drama on the mountain is compiled using mostly unuse...

Motorcycling the Strzelecki Desert Track
Переглядів 24 тис.3 роки тому
Crossing the Strzelecki Desert via the Strzelecki Track, by motorcycle, has always been a dream of mine. But I never dreamed that I'd be doing it now! A solo female rider! On a road bike! It's all rocks, sand and ruts in the road out there, not exactly road bike territory! But hey, I'm up for the challenge, right? Movement around Australia isn't exactly easy at the moment, and with most options...

Continuing on my around Australia motorcycle tour, I decide to explore the path of two of Australia's most unlikely and well known explorer's, Burke and Will's and their final resting places. We've all been there right? Contemplating if we're at the end of the line? In this episode of Her Motorcycle Adventures, as I reach my seventh month of Motorcycle Touring Australia, I find myself covering an intriguing story about 'the end of the line', which in turn has me pondering my own 'end of the line!' And importantly, what exactly happened in my life to reach a point in which I put ever...
Motorcycling to a one pub town in outback Queensland

You know what it's like. One moment you're a typical female motorcyclist touring outback Australia, in a very remote area. And the next you find yourself fantasising about a remote country pub in the middle of nowhere. What's the chance of that happening? As it turned out, pretty good actually! On this episode of Her Motorcycle Adventures I was able to set up my motorcycle camping equipment at ...

As a solo female motorcyclist this really opened my eyes. I fell in l...

I Was Robbed!!!! | Motorcycle Tour Australia | Her Motorcycle Adventures

Guess what! I was robbed. What started as an idyllic motorcycle ride through country Australia ended rather abruptly as a man, with his face just inches from mine, made clear his demands. I guess, as a solo female motorcyclist you need to be extra aware of your personal safety. Especially if you are female solo motocamping. Well, I'm doing both, and ultimately this day didn't exactly go to plan...

Young lady, - I am a 78 yo motorcyclist. We all have a story of things that have caused us trauma, I too have been thru some severe crap, I too use my motorcycle as a medication. For me it is mindfulness in motion. Living in the moment. May God look over you and protect you.

I love your take on this place. I very proud of way you realise it's a bit of tourist hocus pocus set up for the wealthy to just enjoy the gardens. Truth is that this is a horrific place and the reason the original buildings barely stand is because they were smashed up and burned out of anger for the torture within after the place was eventually closed. It is nothing to celebrate and definitely shouldn't be made to look like a wealthy garden estate. That just makes fake of what the place actually is. Typical tourist enterprise of Tasmania, make hell on earth look like paradise.

Well done with this video and topic. It is a shame things ever got to this situation. I would hate to think of the amount of historical stuff that would simply have been demolished simply from people either not knowing its there or simply not caring about it. Much of the original artwork would simply have been constructed over. Considering most of it around coastal areas with fresh water which has since been built over. So much coastline is full of landfill, boardwalks and buildings. Definitely need to take better care in the future and protect what is left and actually identify spots that shouldn't be developed on.

Thank you for the courage to share your story. I'm a 66 year old man who has seen too much in the EMS field. I've been on the road to suicide countless times in the last two years. I'm not well, but lot better following EMDR treatment. I won't lie, I've not moved 100% forward and I live in an almost constant state of 'fight or flight.' A book that I found helpful is Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk's, "The Body Keeps the Score." The book didn't heal me, but it helped me realize that trauma is not what's wrong with me, it's what happened to me. I wish you wellness and peace and as much beauty as you surround yourself with on your motorcycle; ...it seems you're on that path already. From the US, Sincerely, Tony

I’ve always been into motorcycles from the day I could stretch my own little legs. I’ve always noticed at certain times when I ride everything in my head just falls away. I’ve never put the 2 together till just now honestly. I’m 60, was diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety and PTSD but only 6 years ago after nearing divorce for excessive drinking. Of course the drinking was stopped cold turkey (April 2018) and spring has fallen upon us. I’m definitely going to plan more rides. 🤙🏽 thank you, this was enlightening.

When I was riding I felt the same. It was being at one with the bike in a state of mindfulness and anonymity that I loved. I was a faceless biker. My armour kept the outside world from impacting on my MH. I felt disconnected from life and at peace. When I sat on a picnic bench and watched the world go by, I felt all my worries and troubles melt away for those brief moments of respite. It was total relaxation.

As a child I too learnt of the famous Burke and Wills and its obvious that instead of carrying 6 tons of firewood they could have carried food and dropped it off at waypoints on the way up. I wasn't aware of the kind of man Burke was and it really cements what actually transpired then. The human mind especially then would have struggled to comprehend the actual size and remoteness of the Australian outback and the fact that England could fit into Australia 31 times. It would be an adventure to redo that ill fated expedition with the proper rations and water to survive months away from home.. Thx so much for bringing this video to UA-cam.

It’s inspiring to hear your stories and to see the unity in people sharing and doing one of the most meaningful purposes of life which is to help and support one another. It takes courage to speak of our own conditions in life. But by sharing it helps others and ourselves. And it comes out of love for others and is also out of love for motorcycling. What a great wonderful thing. Thanks to all of you and may God bless you all❤️🎚️

I'm 68 and live in Nr.Wales GB and we also have so me awesome roads to ride on , but with more traffic than you have in Tasmania 😊 I just can't wait for the winter months to be over so I can get out with my hubby or my girlfriend's, to feel that freedom and fun again .
