The 1993 Raiders played six cold-weather road games from Halloween onward - at Denver, at Chicago, at Cincinnati, at Buffalo twice and here at Green Bay. They went 3-3 in the six games and the only blowout loss was this game.
I live in CA. and knew a lot of 49er fans in high school. I was sick of hearing them brag and my friends all knew I liked the Packers and they'd make fun of them, so when the Packers beat them in 89, I was happy. I'm sure all my NFL friends from high school thought of me that day.
Difference in time. 2023: Ball inside 50 with 50 seconds left.....ton of time. But back then....it was like it would take a miracle to get the ball in EZ
In high school, a buddy and I used to make small bets with each other on games. Usually, little things like lunch the next day. For this game, I suggested the winner gets $1 a point for the margin of victory. I picked the Raiders. This proved that I was bad at gambling and shouldn’t do it.
I remember the 1990 injury. An ill-advised throwaway. (while falling, turned sideways, and throwing shoulder inches from the turf). Could have protected shoulder and taken the loss. Never the same after.
They actually did make the playoffs in 1982/83 beating the Cardinals at Lambeau followed by a loss to the Cowboys. But that season was shortened by a strike.
1989 was like a defibrillator season shocked the franchise back to life and gave us hope. I still have my #7 Don Majikowski jersey The heart attack Pack!
Wow this is amazing that you put this on here, with the Packers radio announcers. I'm a lifelong Vikings fan. I remember watching this game and not believing the finish lol. On a side note, I believe this is the last game the Packers played in Milwaukee. After this, I think they decided to play all of their games at Lambeau.
Imagine what would have happened that season if the Packers had rookie Barry Sanders on the team. Add 1400 rushing yards and 14 TDs to that offense. The Packers had already beaten the Super Bowl champ 49ers that season.
Reggie White was such a blessing of hope. I remember being excited that the GBP's were becoming a FORCE to be reckoned with. Good to see Daryl Thompson get a TOUCHDOWN. Rochester M.N. John Marshall Rocket.
1989 was really strange. The Packers picked up so much energy late in the year that they got to 10-6. Though; as their schedule was relatively weak, they shouldnt be over praised. This would probably be a 7-9 or a 8-8 team with a middle level schedule. Though, it definitely laid the grounds for 1992-2004's success under Brett Favre.
Even though I am a Vikings fan, I really loved Max and Jims broadcasts. Football on radio sounds a lot better than on tv, and I'm glad to be subscribed to this channel, to get different types of packer highlights, and games, because I like all teams, even though the vikings are my favorite team, I like to listen to all types of radio sports broadcasters.

I Miss Jim and Max!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great memories!!! Thanks for sharing!!😎
AM 620 WTMJ. When ever I was near a radio I loved to listen to the games.
best hlt ever
Leroy didn't get much of a Lambeau Leap for being the first.

Favre was not that good at this early part of career. He gets progressively better in 94 and the rest is history
I love hearing the radio broadcast with the TV. Watching and listening to the game brought back a lot of memories! ❤❤❤

Majik man was solid!! Sterling said himself said, if Majik never got injured, you never hear of Brett Favre. Majik was very good

So many close games that year put me on the edge of my seat. It was the season that made me a Packer backer at age 15
Loved the “Majik Man” Era….
Max points out that the packers were the only nfl team to not be in the playoffs since 1973. We watched a lot of bad football
They actually did make the playoffs in 1982/83 beating the Cardinals at Lambeau followed by a loss to the Cowboys. But that season was shortened by a strike.
TRIVIA. See if you can find the original Lambeau Leap?
1:53:57 and thus, a packers tradition was born
Probably the weirdest intro to a football game 😂
Don’t care about Russell Crow making an exorcist movie. It’s not believable.
1:54 The First Lambeau Leap!
Sterling Sharpe and Michael Irvin finished their careers with the same number of TD receptions, 65. Sharpe just did it in 47 fewer games
5:45 sounds like Fletch, mattress police

I miss these days...now pose as a team for an INT
Sterling Sharpe was such a beast! It was awesome seeing him drag defenders down the field! The man was strong!
greatest packer team ever in the post SB years till The 1996 one came along..
Favre sure was a wild cannon back in those early years. Moments of brilliance but he could sure throw an INT too.
Thank you!! Jim Irwin and Max McGee. Their voices bring tears to my eye. Such memories. Makes me want a Miller Lite, a brat and a hunk of cheddar.
18:00 the first ever Lambeau leap
I’ve seen the Packers win two Super Bowls in my lifetime and play in the NFC championship many times but 1989 is still my favorite season!
"Majik Man" and the Pack in 89,, were an awesome time in Packer history! The precursor to the great seasons to come with Favre and Rodgers.
Anybody have this game with the actual TV audio?
This season was a fluke much like the 72 season when the won the division.
My packers blew out the raiders wow lol

They played their last game in Milwaukee the following season

Majik man lmao
1989 Green Bay Packers. Flash in the pan. Fluke. Lucky. 1990 proved that.
Reggie White was such a blessing of hope. I remember being excited that the GBP's were becoming a FORCE to be reckoned with. Good to see Daryl Thompson get a TOUCHDOWN. Rochester M.N. John Marshall Rocket.
I always thought Thompson’s skill set was a huge mismatch for the Packers, even before Holmgren arrived.
One of the last great years of real NFL 🏈
Majik Man was awesome that season.
Other then this good season, the packers still sucked and thank god Ron wolf came in and did t even think twice about firing lindy
I feel bad for the people that had to make a "highlight" film for these Packers team.

magicman was better qb he got hurt
They beat some good teams legit that year. The Niners went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl - lost a home game to the Packers.
The Packers wore white jerseys for their first 2 home games vs Tampa Bay and New Orleans
