Look at the years they drove together - 1992, 1993 and early 1994 - Schumacher dominated Senna in 1992 and 1994. In 1992 Schumacher in his first full year in F1, barely knowing the tracks and driving an inferior Benetton with manual transmission finished the season ahead of veteran Senna who drove a faster McLaren with automatic transmission. Also in 1993 Schumacher was clearly faster than Senna in many races like Belgium, Canada, etc. Also in 1993 Schumacher had faster qualifying times in most races than Senna and also Schumacher in an inferior car drove the fastest lap of the race in 5 races while Senna just in 1 race.

You just forgot to mention that Senna for most of his career drove the fastest or second fastest car on the grid. Senna also won his 3 championships only when he drove the fastest car on the grid. Schumacher on the other hand for most of his career drove inferior cars and even managed to win 3 of his championships in the second or third best car (1994 ,1995 and 2000).

You compared the numbers in this video. It shows Schumacher didn't have to get pole as much to win more races. He had more fastest laps, had a better win ratio and also moved to Ferrari to help create a competitive car. As soon as Senna moved to McLaren, ALL he wanted to do was drive the best car, NEVER considered a move like Schumacher to a struggling team. Watch the races they had together & you could see Schumacher was showing Senna he had surpassed him. It put Senna under pressure & he was losing out on the track.

Senna was awesome. But Schumacher ushered in a new reference for drivers. Fitness, dedication, attention to detail. The guy was on another level.

Senna drove the fastest car on the grid for 50% of his career and the 2nd fastest car for 25% of his career. Schumacher on the other hand for most of his career drove the 2nd 3rd 4th best car on the grid and he even won the championship multiple times driving the 2nd or 3rd best car. Senna on the other hand won the championship only when he drove the best car available.

The FIA should have stepped in during the season and banned him. He was a major risk to himself and the other drivers. He had no business being behind the wheel of an F1 car. Only the best drivers from the lower divisions should be promoted to the next division. There are many great drivers who win F2 championship and never get a chance at F1. After Mazespin finished 20th and 10th in F3 and 8th and 5th in F2, he never should have gotten an F1 seat. The FIA should had a rule that you need to finish in the top 5 in F2 to move up to F1.
