Rob, you sound like a Super-Responder like I am. I am just starting maintenance after losing 65% of my initial weight. I started at 405 lbs. a bit over 2.5 years ago, and today weigh 139 lbs. My average weight loss over that time was about 3+ lbs. a week, even though I had three 6-8 week long rests (stalls). I am amazingly healthy, all my obesity-related illnesses are gone (including Heart Failure, Chronic Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, and many more) and my labs are amazing. The advertised muscle loss with big weight losses is 25%-40%. Through serial DEXA scans, I know that I have only lost 7% muscle. I'm ecstatic! I have never been tired or resistant to moving my ass this whole time, except when I couldn't physically walk a lot of the first year. Now I walk an average of 4.5 miles a day and just started going to the gym. I did do weights and bands at home during the last year, but the gym is a whole different animal. Anyway, it sounds like you might be on a similar trajectory. It's wild to lose so fast and still feel amazing! And brings on a LOT of jealousy, so be ready for that. I believe the type of responder we are is in our DNA. I have 2 kids on tirzepatide and they are super-responders as well. Genes? I think so! Keep it up and have fun!
Hi Rob - looking forward to your next video. I hope all is well!
Where are you Rob, how is it going 🤔
Hi Rob, hope everything's OK. You've been inspirational to watch these last few months. Looking forward to your next video
Hi rob hope you're ok looking forward to your next update x
Hi Rob, missing your updates 😊 Hope all is ok 👍
Hi Rob, how does it work with regards to shopping around do you have to fill in the questionnaire etc every time?
Hi Rob, how does it work with regards to shopping around do you have to fill in the questionnaire etc every time?
Hi Rob my husband and l have watched all of your travel videos and we love them😊 I have been contemplating taking Mounjaro so l was delightfully surprised to find you when l searched UA-cam to become informed about what to expect. Really enjoying learning more about your Mounjaro ‘journey’ and also about your life with Dave in Westwood Ho. Much love to you both❤
🌴
Hi did you put the cooler in the hold baggage or take it with your carry on bag? Thanks
Hi Rob, Are your exercise and diet habits the same as before you started Mounjaro or did you start them at the same time?
May I have the link to your travel channel, the link on here doesn't seem to be working....
Congrats again on another 3lb weight loss, you are absolutely smashing it :) are you still trying to stick to about 1200-1400 calories? I was wondering about your shopping about, do you just go through the consultation process again and then tell them what you are currently on? I've just been sticking with my current provider but any money saved is obviously a bonus, especially when moving up doses. I'm on my second month of Wegovy 1mg as I feel its still controlling my hunger feelings but my next dose up will end up being £200+ Hope the couch to 5k stuff is going well for you and you are enjoying it, there's something really nice about getting out for a run. If you remember I mentioned I was doing a charity event of 50 miles over the month of October for Prostate Cancer, managed to complete it but taking a week off from running as my right leg was complaining a LOT, but I am going to try and keep at it.
I have just found your channel, thank you so much for your videos! Finding someone in the UK sharing their experiences on these injections seems rare. I am starting Wegovy tomorrow and am in Devon too (South Devon). Off to watch the rest of your videos from the beginning now😀
Hi Rob. Your journey is so inspiring. I've been trying to get a jab via NHS as I'm diabetic but the hoops I have to jump through are diabolical. SO I've bit the bullet and gone private. Used your code to saved a few quid. Thank you. Just waiting now to see if I'm approved 🤞
Hope this journey continues well for you sadly I've had to stop taking it I was so unwell last week so have decided to come off it annoyingly
Enjoy your videos. Your sense of humor is amazing. Congratulations on your success. My weight loss has been slow but it’s still going in the right direction.
Thank you!!! Slow, fast, steady or super slow, so long as it's heading in the right direction and you're feeling good along the way ☺️
I want to stop on the end of this year. But i am not sure how 😂. I hope i will can hold my weight next year without MJ.
I'm still a way off from my maintenance, although it is something that is always in the back of my mind. I'm hoping that through the habits and routine I'm building that I will continue to be successful with MJ in the future, but we shall see. I will definitely be planning to titrate down and spread out doses as much as I can to do it slowly rather than suddenly go cold turkey. Fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@ ok. Thank you for the answer. I hope that, too. I eat better thinks and do more sports. Yes, fingers crossed for us both🤞🏼🤞🏼. Greetz from Germany.
😊😅😊❤🎉
👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼 hope you're having a good week? ☺️
Hi Rob, I feel dizzy from the pen being waved around 😂😂 Oh and good on you for taking the Subway incident further!! That portion was disgusting 😱 Great vlog again!! Really look forward to your updates, the way you put them together and deliver them 👍 You are doing amazing, your weight loss is inspirational as is your fitness journey.! Can I ask where do you dispose of your Sharps bin? Keep up the good work Rob and look forward to hearing from you next week x
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave such a kind and encouraging comment!! I honestly am so thankful 😁 Re: sharps box, I'm still on the first one and I've not had to think about disposing of it yet, but I think maybe my GP surgery will take it? Or the pharmacy? 🤷🏼
🎉🎉🎉You are a great inspiration, thanks for sharing your journey. I am a bit behind you, just took my 10th shot (second of 7.5 mg), and I am down 10%. This drug is a true miracle. Keep sharing your journey! 🎉🎉🎉 I only do my stomach, it works, and I rotate 8 spots around my stomach.
Oh that sounds like it's working well and supporting you to make some great progress Steph 🥳 thanks for watching along, I'm really glad to have found other people on a similar mission to share with ☺️ here's to another good week!
Well done Rob, keep it up!! Same here, could you show how you get a 5th dose? I just finished my first pen and when twisting the pen it would not go all the way to the 1 mark. I think I managed to get half a dose. I do twist to the first mark each time to release the air. Maybe if I didnt do this I would have a whole dose.
You literally just have to force it. It will twist to the 1 mark even though it feels like you're breaking it. I got a 5th dose even though I was priming and wasting a little for each dose. The 5th dose worked exactly the same as the previous doses.
Funnily I have already recorded a bit about the fifth dose at the start of the next week's vlog, but the other comment explains it a lot more succinctly than I did 🤣🤣🤣 hope you're doing well and had a good week?
Well done, Rob.... you are doing great, and thanks for videos😊
Thanks Tracey!! Hope you're having a good week too? 🤩
Hi Rob, great progress, could you do a quick "how to" on doing the secret 5th dose please 😊
Hey! Funnily enough I go through the fifth dose at the start of my next video, so hopefully that will be useful!! Really it's just a case of using some force to keep twisting the pen beyond where it wants to stop, and then you'll be able to get another dose.
@robcadenelkins2 fantastic, look forward to seeing it, :)
@@debzcharlesworth9886if it doesn’t work then just buy an insuline syringe and extract it manually
@@robcadenelkins2thank you
Great catch up Rob. What fantastic results you have achieved already. Your hard graft is paying off 👌Will you stick with one provider when you near the 30 bmi? xx
Thank you Jane!! I'm really happy with how things have gone, and just how different things are for me now compared to just 4 months ago! Good question re: sticking with one provider once BMI gets to the low point of obese... I'm still a little way off but I definitely don't want to come unstuck if suddenly providers won't give me mj!! Any suggestions gratefully received? ☺️
You can do that 5 min run, don't worry! I am 60+ and I managed it and now I do 5k 3x a week - once you are confident, I can recommend Parkrun, it is great (just off to my local one in a few mins).
Oh, watching further, I see you did it - well done and good luck with week 5!
Thank you so much Rob for sharing your journey so openly! I’m also on Mounjaro, and over the past few months, I’ve managed to lose 10% of my body weight, and for the first time in years, my blood pressure is in the normal range. Only my son and GP know about it, so it’s really lovely to have someone like you to share the journey with-your honesty and motivation mean so much!
Awww thanks so much Grace, it means a lot to me that my videos are even a tiny bit helpful! I'll happily be your Mounjaro friend to share the experience with 🥰 well done on the health improvements you are achieving for yourself 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@ That’s so kind of you Rob. And FYI your videos are way more helpful than “a tiny bit” … they are extremely helpful and relevant. ❤️. Here’s to another healthy week ahead. 🇦🇺🫶
Thanks for sharing your journey. I haven't seen anyone in the UK on UA-cam talking about GLP-1 drugs. Hope it works out for you and take care :) look forward to seeing more videos
Hi rob, watch your channel, very informative and has helped me start my journey, 2 weeks in now. In regards to plateau your experiencing now, it may be due to your overall resting metabolic rate having lowered and adjusted to your calorie deficit. Muscle atrophy very common for those on calorie deficit and do heavy amounts of cardio (running and spin). You may break plateu by adding in weight / resistance training of some kind and tale back on cardio slightly (not stop altogether). You will find that scales may not move too much and still be slow but after 2 months or so your entire body shape will shrink. Look into it and let me know your thoughts, your doing great 👍🏻
Thanks for watching along 😁 right now I'm good with my routine and working on improving my cardio fitness and stamina, but certainly will be mixing things up down the line. A long time ago I used to do kettlebells and HIIT and similar and I am looking to add some of this back in once I've made more progress 💪🏼🏋🏼
Awesome vlog Rob! Your meals look great (well done Dave!) - apart from THAT Subway 😲 Many thanks for sharing. You're doing so well, you're a real inspiration 👍
Thanks so much Jane! THAT Subway salad still haunts me, the horror 😱 hahaha. Hope you're doing well? 😊
Brilliant thank you
Thank youuu 😊
Might try those pasta salads, Im a big fan of the Arla protein stuff. Great vlog
Cheers mate. I like that these have a lot of options, most are suitable for a low calorie lunch and it removes the decision making for what I'm gonna have. That being said, definitely moving into soup season now so it might be a few less salads and a few more bowls of soup for me.
Hey Rob, Oh you have made me laugh with the Subway lunch, your face when you opened the box 😂😂 Great video really enjoyed it, very informative and a bit of entertainment thrown in too. Really looking forward to the next one 👍 Well done on your exercise, you are doing amazing!! X
Glad you enjoyed it Andrea, thank you! 😄 That subway salad was CRIMINAL and still weighs heavy on my mind now a week later!! Hahaha.
Something I recently learned about myself may be helpful for you. All the glp1 weight loss you tubers all swear by these electrolyte supplements. I started drinking one a day as I am very active and my weight loss ground to a hault for three weeks. I talked to my doctor and she said I really didn't need them if I take a magnesium supplement. They have a lot of sodium which may make some retain water. So, I stopped drinking them, and dropped about 6 pounds in two days. I was amazed. Maybe something to give a shot if you tend to retain water.
Oh that's interesting and helpful, thanks! I find they are working well for me, and if I don't use one then I can feel pretty rough for the rest of the day after I've done spin / couch to 5k. I will definitely keep it in mind though regarding water retention, I wouldn't have even considered that!
Well that was a long one! I've tried getting my cat to cook for me but the only things he can manage are scratches and the occasional pile of vomit from going mad on cat grass... I have been trawling round for high protein meals and drinks so it's good to see some alternatives, are you still not sponsored by Asda?! Well done on your progress with the couch to 5k, they recommend taking a day off between each one to let your body recover so to be doing the spin classes too is impressive. Oh, and I read somewhere that fruit on Mounjaro is not really recommended because it causes spikes in sugar levels - so stick with the chocolate! 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks! Nope, sadly Asda haven't come up with the goods yet 😜 yeah I am struggling to fit in couch to 5k plus spin plus rest days, I think we should have an extra day in the week (weekend, obviously!!) so I can keep on top of it!
Which shop do you buy your smoothie mix from please
We get it from Tesco but it looks like Sainsburys also stock it? Neither have it on offer right now and are charging the same price.
Hope you get that 5lb loss
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Ur meals are definitely more exciting than mine I live on my protein meals think I'm going to need more variety! Just took my second week jab whilst watching your video so far so good
Ahhh well you gotta do what works for you, so don't feel bad or pressured to do anything different. Like I said I'm fortunate that Dave does a fair bit of the cooking, otherwise I would be a lot more reliant on ready meals or freezer teas! 🤣🙈
Squash is that juice? We don’t use that term in the US.
Hey, yeah I think it's juice? Diluted with water (as opposed to fruit juice that's from the carton / bottle to glass with no water mixed in?)
Rob, well done. You are doing brilliantly. Thanks for your videos - love watching them. You might want to consider a walking pad. I bought one a few months ago from Amazon. Mobvoi Home Walking Treadmill Walking Pad Under Desk Compact Treadmill for £149. Weighs a ton but really easy to put together. The weight is reassuring as it seems really sturdy. It takes a bit of time to get used to it - not sure I could walk and work at the same time. It makes me feel slightly unbalanced if I look up and walk at the same time, but its probably just me. Its just for walking though and if you are now a runner, you might want to get a proper treadmill. My budget wouldn't stretch that far as I would want to get one with arms, again to aid balance. I've lost over 3 stone with slimming world and the non scale victories are something that will keep you losing/maintain your loss. Buying clothes in your new size seems a waste when you are not there yet but the motivational lift it gives you is well worth it. Keep up the good work,
Thanks so much Sam! That sounds like a good recommendation for the walking pad, I'll get on Amazon to take a look. Sounds like you are making great progress also 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi my friend 😊 👏
Hiii 👋🏻👋🏻 how's your week going?
@robcadenelkins2 Well, I went to Morocco for 5 days, not having losses, but not gains as well, which is cool. Keep going, following you 🤗
Ahhhh fantastic, I hope you had a great time in Morocco? I've been to Marrakesh a couple of times before and enjoyed it. And well done on maintaining whilst away! 💪🏼👏🏻👏🏻
Hey Rob, you’re looking great well done 👍. I discovered jogging 9 weeks ago and have completed 8 parkruns now. Slow jogging has been fantastic, plays a huge part in using up fat stores, and that’s exactly how it’s helped me. I can honestly say slow jogging is my vice now! Think about the tread mill idea for a bit, remember the magic happens on our rest days! Being outdoor s, even in a bit of rain does our mental well-being a lot of good, remember you work from home, step out regardless of the weather!! Keep up all the good work you’re doing for yourself, thanks for sharing. Take care !😊
Oh that's great to read! I used to do Parkrun 10 years ago (before weight gain and getting out of shape) and I still have my barcode! I'm hoping to get back into it once I've improved my running ability a little more.
Meal plans / eat in a week would be great please x
That's the next video that I'll be posting! Hope you will enjoy it 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this! Very timely for me so I really appreciate you sharing. I did 2.5 for one month and 5 for one month. I have lost 24 pounds, but I noticed the last two shots on day 6 and 7 the hunger is ridiculous. Should not be this hard, so I will ask my doctor to put me up to 7.5 for my next shot. Not leaving anything to chance.
Wow 24 lbs in two months is a significant amount to have lost, well done! 👍🏻 I know what you mean re: day 6 and 7, those are definitely the days I have the most challenge and have to use all the willpower that I have to not over eat.
Just had my 4th 2.5mg shot of Mounjaro. Lost 1 stone (was 22 stone, but 6'5" tall). Unable to exercise due to a pending knee replacement, hence my panic to drop some weight. No real side affects. Starting my 5 mg in seven day's. Your vids a an inspiration Rob. I think your up in North Devon, it's colder up there isn't it ? I'm in South Devon 😅. Keep up your great progress 👏 All the best, Rob (as well)
Ahhh hello Rob in South Devon! Yep, I'm on the Atlantic coast in North Devon although it feels like the North Pole 🤣🤣🤣 sounds like some great results for you in your first month, that's good to hear. Do you have a date you are working towards with your knee op or is it a "we'll call you" situation?
@@robcadenelkins2 Hi Rob, yes it's a bit rough outside. Storm Ashley apparently. I live up on Dartmoor and it's blowing a hooley today. My knee opp. should be around Jan/Feb 🤞, it's taken 2 years to get this far with it. The Mounjaro has been amazing, very effective. Keep up the great work, Rob.
@@mytube2959 ahhh well I'll keep everything crossed that the new year starts off with this op for you, and all the things you'll be more able to do / enjoy in 2025! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Feeling cold is a side affect of mounjaro .. I just ordered a walking pad it's getting delivered to day . Look on you tube for reviews on walking pads
I hadn't seen "feeling cold" listed as a side effect from Eli Lilley, although a quick Google and I can see other people have reported it. I don't know the science of it, but I still can understand that I will feel colder as I have less insulation 🤣
Rob, your blogs are great... the difference in your face and body from 100 days ago is amazing. Keep going 💪 🎉
Thanks so much Tracey! 🥰 Yeah I'm soo happy that Rob from 100 days ago made the decision to try this, and how well it's gone so far! I hope it continues 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I really do love these vlogs. It’s so good to know someone has the same worries/thoughts as me and it’s definitely reassuring and puts them into perspective. I’m with you on the being cold, I’ve never felt the cold like I am at the moment xx
