Natla R., NWT - 30 Day Canoe trip - Part #3
July 9th 2024 -
In this the third video, yes more Class II rapid river running as we move to Camp#4. As we draw further down the Natla we are leaving the vast valley and its watershed where the mountains start closing in on the river.
And the canoe does a Little Rock hugging out in the middle of one of the wider sections….
This will lead us into Part#4 where things get a little more dynamic

After having to replace the front rotors, pads that weren’t more than a year old (rear drums and pads) $$$!!! Having smelled my brakes while coming down mountain passes And not having confidence in stopping in emergency situations in time Enough was enough Even with the Brake controller on full, in gravel the trailer wouldn’t lock up even at slow speeds With the unexpected offering from Bill & ...

July 8th 2024 Day 2, Camp 2 we paddle across to hike about 11km up onto a ridge to see what we would see. it doesn’t disappoint! Various types of birds and big Caribou buck all immersed in beautifully scenery. We also contend with the hungry mosquitoes and in this hike they were very heavily populated lol! Fortunately this turns out to be the only camp that was this thick of mosquitoes. Day 3 w...

Can a OBS 7.3 diesel hang with Jeeps in BC snow

NOV 12th 2023 …. I was out exploring British Columbia Forest Service Roads (FSR); these are mostly arteries for logging, when it became apparent there was more snow then few days back despite being nicer at camp. its interesting how the subtle changes in elevation can impact snow level out here amongst mountains. I just finished turning around when 4 jeeps pulled up, after brief chat they left ...

Broken Bow Arch hike, Totally Underrated !!
Do you recommend this mod?
It first entered my mind when Derek, who has a 15 as well mentioned how much he noticed an improvement. It’s a chunk of money, but it’s a one time expense. It’s not that labour, intense or that difficult but for me ultimately it was the fact that I just couldn’t get my 15 to brake well enough to take pressure off my truck’s brakes. Cause me an expense before it’s time. My opinion YES I know person with 15 and she was uncertain hers would lock up and she recently did the brakes on the 15 (assume my memory correct on her words) Shortly after installing the brakes and drive back to Canada, I had a suicidal deer try to pass me, cut me off, and when I hit the brakes that trailer left the skid mark on the asphalt and no sign of the deer
I should add to the fact that your bearings are constantly in oil and that you can visually see that oil level is a bonus. And when the time comes, there’s a little screw that you just loosen off drain the oil out put the set screw back in and just fill up from the end no removing of the hub or bearings to re-grease
It’s awesome to have interchangeable truck to trailer wheel/tire set!
Yes it is plus why carry three spares … 🙂
Fantastic!!!!! Pillows, grizzly and flying tents!!! Love those yellow beauties and nice to know about the fish!!!
I know right so glad Gord added his knowledge
Wow!! Amazing river runs.Mountains are BREATHTAKING!!! Loved the rapids, and I saw a bear running back to the brush.Surprised that the rivers are so cold.❤❤❤❤
There still snow up in them there mountains ya’ll
The Beauty only getting started
Nice advice for those looking, sorry you had to have negative to happen to learn this, way to go!!!!!
P.s 5 YEARS went fast!!!!
The BS installed bushings looked really great! They are made of polyurethane and are superior to any rubber compound that has ever been used for suspension bushings. In fact, your rancho shocks are equipped with polyurethane bushings as are all off the aftermarket suspension upgrade components I have ever looked at for vehicles. Granted, they may have their own name (I think rancho terms it as doura-crush if I remember correctly) but regardless they are much better than rubber. Great job, looks good and yes disc brakes would be a great upgrade. I'm going to run the drum for now on oil bath. - Brad
You have such great knowledge! Thank you for the add on!
All about the adventure
True that!!! Just ask my bank account
That was pretty awesome, a great thought put into my mind of the time to pack, paddle, paddle, unload, set up, cook ,eat and drop 😀 wow!!!!

Well a river can have many faces depending on water level it can be higher faster but less technical. Just a fun splashy ride. In few days from this we get rain and over night the river rose over a foot which was perfect timing for rest of Natla and keele river so hang on but no gunnel grabbing lol
Fantastic pics!! Camp looks Beautiful
@@lorijane831 indeed it was but wait there’s more

That was great, loved that you added the real sounds of driving, it seemed so smooth!!!!
Hearing the sounds certainly brings the intensity home. What an experience. Gorgeous views!
Thank god jeepsvthere to help
Omg!!!! Beautiful but wtf...lol..
Great video, thanks for sharing. How much room is left between the end of the gray water tank after repositioning and the far side of the trailer? I am thinking maybe a small, 2kw Diesel heater could fit into this space, with duct into the bathroom and maybe kitchen. Could maybe use the flush cap to run a hose to refill the Diesel tank. Thoughts?
If im understanding correctly once the grey was rotated and shifted to the door side of the aluminum skid cover i did place the diesel heater beside it but still within the main frame of the trailer. With it located there the shower wall goes from 1 Deg C @ minus 10 Deg C to a plus 10 degrees. As well it heats the floor as the first vent is between the grey and drinking on the door side. This also follows most of the water lines as well. The final vent is located at the back side of the general tank. I also have diesel heater inside in the bench closest to the bed (note victron 3000 inverter moved) to that does nice job of heating main area to bathroom especially since it also is diced into the bathroom. Yes that would work i think to fill from flush as there would be enough room to but an aluminum tank in that space. I have put 17 gal tank in front of the trailer ahead of the General water tank (which tucks in slightly tighter then the grey and doesn’t impede front angle. Let me know if that answer your question..
@@iSeaUnplugged Ah, yes thank you - I did not fully appreciate the way you did things the first time I watched. If I understand correctly your gray water exit valve is on the door side of the trailer and the Diesel heater is on the other side of the gray water tank, essentially under the shower (genius move!). This might also work better for me because I can go from a thin fuel tank fed by the door side flush hose port over to the Diesel heater on the other side of the tank (like you, want to maximize departure angle). They have a further deal on HLN heaters for Black Friday.....hmmmm.
Happy you've got that problem sorted out.Love seeing Tubai!❤❤
❤ Whoop whoop!! Cant wait to see what you've been up to!!!!❤❤
Can't wait to see and hear what you've been up to. Xo

Great video. Love that your travels have allowed you to meet great people
❤❤Glad you were able to put in a more secure window.💞💞💞
It’s only secure if I remember to lock it close or remember if i did my walk thru or not 🤔
❤❤Hes quite spectacular!!❤💞💞🥰
Indeed a big boy
I see you have Pixie and Tubai on leash. Is there a reason you didn't want them to go exploring on their own in this terrain?
Yes on this Park like a lot of big parks in Canada dogs are often allowed on the trails but must be leashed (plus word was a Park ranger was out on this hike too 😁) Unlike most big parks in USA canada does allow dogs on trails not just the asphalt walks)
Love this compilation of photos. I want to see the northern lights so I appreciate the information for how to catch the lights once you get to the right area. I don't see where you mention what month these were taken. I am assuming early autumn for that latitude. Would that be September?
You are correct! These were taken sept 1st thru to Sept 3rd., the once from Top of the World road where late August
