    So, if a skillet has a 4” long scratch on the bottom, it would not pose a concern over possible breakage or explosion?? I ask, because I see a pan with a lid for sale at a local flea market near me that has the deep fryer frying pan, and the reason why I didn’t buy it is because it has that scratch on the very bottom of this pan and that’s what was concerning to me. However, the scratch itself, albeit 4 inches long, it is not deep at all. Would love to get your opinion on that!

    Here's an idea that could transform woodlands AND improve their overall health AND create a luxurious home! Tree Fountain (aka Tree of Life) 1- Bore a hole into and up a tree being careful not to bisect the core of the tree. Alternative: Use bamboo or grow sugar cane as a natural and permeable plumbing and cultivate it so that the tree grows around it. 2- Coat the inside of the hole with beeswax. I would highly recommend making a place to put a beehive in the tree near some water. The natural hum of the bees can promote health throughout the structure and through the water. 3- Put a water basin at the top and a fire pit or fireplace at the bottom. The water basin can actually be used for a secondary water source that would promote growth and potentially allow for the tree to grow taller. 4- Put copper pipe around the inside of the fire pit or up the chimney for a fireplace. This will act as a pump. (You can also use a hotplate if you prefer) The copper pipe should only be used close to the intense heat of the fire. Any amount of heat promotes upward movement in this case. 5- Add water wheels (fidget spinners can be used for some decent mini water wheels) for electricity. This electricity can also be used to promote growth in the structure and in gardens. Check out how electricity is used to directly and drastically improve plant growth. 6- Add hanging gardens for fresh produce. A vertical style garden will do several things to improve overall health and productivity. 7- Splice other saplings and/or fresh tree cuttings using the tongue and groove method for shelter. This can be done with roots as well as branches. Encouraging roots to intermingle and cultivating a healthy mycelium bed are both ways that allow all the plants to share nutrients and different forms of protection. This would create a natural network that can be used similar to a computer for both the plants and people if a computer interface is plugged into the chemical language of the plants. This design provides food, filtered and conditioned water and air, electricity, shelter and SO much more! Everything a person needs for life and survival. Hence the "Tree of Life" nickname! In addition to the benefits listed and the techniques described, this structure will grow and get stronger over time. Crystals can be used as a natural source of low level energy creation and as forms of transistors. Cymatics can be used as a form of communication directly with the plants. There is SOOOOO much more that can be done using this method for creating structures and homes BECAUSE it is living. -This idea will eliminate 90% of the demand for large corporations and industries. - This idea will reverse air pollution and filter the world's air naturally and beneficially. - This idea will reveal the counterproductivity of governments and starve the governments of their power. Your fear and desperation. There will be no need to clear cut entire forests to build ever again and this will encourage the natural ecology in our world instead of fighting with it. Be a part of the change. Not a part of the problem through government. We have made excuses for ignoring the fact that we are supporting all the problems we state we are against. Let's be the change!!!

      Thanks, when the train of thought started, I thought it worth recording. I should do a video on the horticultural expo here I think. Great arid adapted trees these. I learned about them before I saw them and finally realised that I had researched them and seen interviews with experts on buttonwoods years ago. They survive 45oC+ in Qatar without wilting, heavy rains only maybe 5 times per year for less than a day each time!

    So there's not much you can do with wooded land other than watch it grow and cut down the occasional tree. It's no good thinking that you can buy a patch of woodland and make it your own with the intention of living among the trees. It ain't going to happen, because there will always be some third party, local council prick dictating to you as to what you can and cannot do with YOUR OWN land. So what's the point in buying it in the first place ?. Might as well save your money. There are plenty of woodland places you can visit to do your tree hugging., and that's about as good as it gets. You can see in the video where a tree has been uprooted that the soil is depleted and shallow and no matter how much money you throw at it, it's not going to improve it. So, keep your pennies in your pocket until you can afford a plot of land with planning permission already in place.

    Hi, i know what you are talking about and unfortunately you are right. Pruning and extraction of in between trees is part of management. Tree plantations ( not to be mixed up with natural woodlands) are seeded close together to force the trees to shoot for the sky and produce straight lumber. The pruning is done to manage the lower trunks, the trees are thinned to recover timber for fencing and give the plantation of trees space to grow. What you are looking at is a wind break for the paddock! We plant Pinus Radiata by the millions of samplings in huge plantations that are harvested every 25 to 30 years. Timber will be variable according to the place on the hill, valleys have different soil to slopes and hill tops, so the timber grain will differ. Nice to see you taking interest, by the way, whatever happened to the Scottish Pines? I read somewhere that they use to cover the highlands. Cheers mate. Harera

    I'm so glad you clearly defined the difference between what a forester wants for a managed woodland and how the ecology strives for something different. Many do not realize the differences between natural and man-made forests or that they both have their own rules. It's important to emphasize that line of demarcation; so few ever tell that story. Thank you! Liked, subbed & all the rest.

    • @toberwine
      @toberwine 7 місяців тому

      Woodland should be managed for multiple objectives. Commercial timber production doesn’t have to be at the expense of a good level of biodiversity. And woodland managed principally for biodiversity or amenity should be able to produce timber too.

    • @CleoHarperReturns
      @CleoHarperReturns 7 місяців тому

      @@toberwine Correct! There is a strong need for both. Our species can't survive without either of them. At least not at our present standards. Timber production can indeed have a good level of biodiversity as long as we also leave room for untended, natural growth. Several species cannot survive without un-managed forests (certain insects, bacteria, mycelia, etc). Even if the connections are distant or still unknown we can't survive without these nebulous lifeforms. The food "chain" is a man-made construct; instead, it's a cycle which needs to remain unbroken. 99% of the world's species throughout existence has tried and failed to do that. We've made it to the top 1%. No need to shoot ourselves in the foot.🙂
