Sick! Love to see something different. Looks like a fun ride to cruise around some water with.
Would this kayak be a upgrade from cresant ck1
I went from a native titan to a hobie PA. I love how straight my PA tracks because of the skeg rudder. How is the tracking on this? Considering picking one up cuz its lighter.
How did you take your kayaks back to where you parked?
We had two vehicles and ran our own shuttle.
Any reason you choose the paddle version rather than the pedal version?
@walden6272 In this case, I chose the paddle version so I could run rivers.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks I see.
Just saw your informative video. Thanks for posting had a question . Where did you park at San Marcos Camp? How much was parking?
as of summer 2024 it is $3 a person to put in or take out at the scout camp.
Hello, I enjoy your channel. I saw that you have tested the Jackson Yupik and Coosa X. I want to paddle with my 80# Lab. I know the Yupik would work great. Wondering how you think the Coosa X would do. I can get a good deal on one. Mainly going to be in small to medium lakes. I know the Coosa is overkill for the fishing part. Just wondering how it would paddle in my application. Maybe a river here and there. There looks to be enough room in the Coosa X . Thanks and take it easy . Scott
@MAGAScott Both are good kayaks and can handle your dog nicely. Since you will be mostly on flat water and lakes, the YuPik is easily the better kayak for your application, IMO. The Coosa X is a river runner.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks Thanks I appreciate your opinion. I will look for a Yupik and maybe look at the bonafide skf117. I was intrigued when I saw it.
Is it OK for lakes
@GeorgeHolloway-ek2wc Can you use it on lakes, yes. However, it won't be a speed demon by any means. Put a motor on it, and then it's great on lakes 👍
How is the tracking?
Would love to see the SKF
Thanks for the great walk through! That platform is hard to beat and the fact it’s American made is even better! 💪🏼 cheers. Subbed for more great small boat /kayak reviews!
@diywaterworld Thanks for stopping by. I agree, Solo Skiff's are awesome 🤘
As i tell other yes you will go this fast with nothing in it but once you pack the gear on these speeds mean nothing
@WhitchurchFishing1 Fully loaded with all my gear I cruise at 6.6 mph.
Think a guy 6’5 230 would have any stability issues standing and fishing with the U10 or should I suck it up and go bigger with the unlimited?
I dont belive so, Im 6'2" 275 lbs and this kayak is super stable for me. The bigger Unlimited would have a touch more stability and more cruising speed on the open water.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks appreciate the reply. Love the content!
Great job! Thanks 🙏
Great video and review. I needed to see this. I got a U10 but I’m still setting it up before I take it out. Thank you.
Hope you enjoy it, I cant stop using mine 👍
What’s the trolling motor model number again for minn kota bow mounted

Would love to see the skf from bonafide
Cause if this video I tried out this area for the first time! I got in at the boat ramp under 35 and almost made it to Cypress Park. Thank you!
We're glad you made the effort and enjoyed that part of the beautiful Guadalupe River. It's always a "go to".
More put in put out videos please
@@holedem26 👍 I'll try again when more water flows constantly
@@tgcanoesandkayaks Appreciate your videos I recently discovered. I have only been kayaking the Guadalupe and your videos has me researching SM. Ill visit the shop soon!
Love your channel. If you had to choose the RVR or the Shoalie for your river/creek runner what would you pick? I have seen a lot of people asking for this comparison but havent found many answers. Would love to see a comparison video but a comment back would be just fine :) Hope all is well!
Any recommendations for solo kayak or the only way is two have two cars?
Just rode from Rio to L and L today. This is a route I haven’t not known about. Adding this to the river road bucket list!
Where is the link to the motor setup?
Hey Buddy. Nice video. I’ve kayaked from the 2nd bridge on 377 south back towards town, Junction. I’ve never seen any of that scenery before. Help me understand where I can see that big waterfall and also the natural spring. Thanks. Norman
Looks like it paddles and glides through the water pretty good, especially for how wide it is.
I'm surprised with its paddling as well.
I sold mine. The floor is too narrow. It's uncomfortable to keep your feet so close together all day. The boat is so wide, doesn't make sense to design such a narrow floor. The bigger Ultimate is the same.
Floor is so narrow, it's very uncomfortable to keep your feet so close together all day. The bigger Ultimate is the same. It's a shame since the boat is so wide, the narrow designe doesn't make sense.
Thank you!
@@AndyDepwe 👍
yes , a longer paddle would work nice
👍
What happens when your dragging it through rocks and skipping across gravel, does the bottom get all scratched up and compromised?
All kayaks get scratched, that's part of running river.
One of the things this vessel had going for it over those shallow rapids and submerged sandbars was its shallow draft. A kayak with a true keel would have been hung up at least 2-3 times on those submerged sand bars that the K-Craft went over in this video.
Have you since mounted a transducer on this guy? The transducer mounting area looks small on mine compared to the other old towns
Why do i need to drill 14 holes. couldn't we do half of them?
Use all screw points the kit comes with. A stronger contact with the kayak makes the rail less prone to bending
How does this paddle upstream compared to a crescent? This seems more stable than a shoalie, but is it slower paddling. Would you pick this over a light tackle 2?
How much more stable is this kayak compared to the coosa x, bite, and mica or ultimate?
How is the performance paddling up river, compared to a ck1 or other kayak? Great video btw, very informative, thank you.
Its ok, ck1 is a little better imo
Well done, thanks.
👍
I weigh 250 lbs. would this kayak work for me with a bow mount trolling motor.
Yes, absolutely it will 👍
Where did you guys put in at?
Location anyone?
wtf they used to be under 1k? 😮
yup, they were a bargin just a few years ago!
@@tgcanoesandkayaks heck yeah! I picked up the 120 for $1,600 yesterday 😭
@@JLP_710 Its ruff right now 😒
Thinking about getting this. I live on the gulf coast of FL so how’s paddling with this in currents? Because that’s what I worry about is fighting against currents and being more worn out than enjoying myself. I would love the pedal drive one but it’s just too expensive.
I'm interested in buying a NuCanoe U10. How big is the difference between the U10 and the F10? Thanks for your help.
The U10 is a huge upgrade overall from the F10 imo. Unless you find a F10 for a heck of a deal, I would go for the fully featured and updated U10.
Great vid!
👍
I noticed underneath your seat, directly behind you, there was a lot of water bubbling up inside the kayak.
Yup, motors add more turbulence and can create those bubbles. You can also plug your scuppers should you desire to block them.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks Oh, ok. I can definitely see where that could happen, I just didn’t realize the bow mounted trolling motor created that much turbulence. I purchased a Mossy Oak bottomland F12 less than a year ago, but after further research, I now wished I would have purchased the Unlimited model. Thanks for your quick reply!
@@Rammerjammer_83 Thanks for dropping by. Have fun on the water ✌
Great video!! Does the motor come with a battery charger, and can you easily remove the battery and charge it in-house ? Thank you
Yes a charger is included, and you can charge it in your house.
I dont know why this information is so hard to find, thank you for such a great informational resource!
👍
Paddling upstream and floating and fishing back down to the put-in, sometimes shallow rivers. Considering Jackson Bite, and crescent ck1 or lite tackle. I have been using canoes for years and hoping a kayak will be easier upstream. Will one paddle upstream easier, or one drag worse than the others?
You will enjoy a kayak for doing that, It's basically how I live my life. First off, how much do you weigh?
@@tgcanoesandkayaks I'm 6'3 and 190lbs.
@@JasonBuchek-wh1ww ahh nice, you can paddle anything you like. My favorite throw and go would be the CK1, however if you desire to stand up alot in the kayak then go Bite.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks Thank you. That was my initial thought until I saw the Bite, then thought maybe Lite Tackle since it's the same weight as the Bite.
CK1 has been my main rig since it came out. Like it so much I have two of them. Since adding a Primo I have spent a lot of time in that. Looking forward to a video with that little boat. Definitely took me some growing to get comfortable but everything I wasn’t super comfortable with initially is everything I love more about it. Obviously a smaller boat but has proven overly capable and has actually changed the way I paddle.
I hear ya, the Ck1 and Primo are awesome! The Primo, is a little squirrely then the CK1 but more responsive due to it's Smaller size.
Looks like they will float pretty shallow?
Yes, very 4" or so
@@tgcanoesandkayaks thank you sir for the reply. I'll be in touch later this morning to get more info.
