High Torque Motor Types and Applications
In this video you will learn about the different high torque motor types. The most commonly used high torque motors include axial flux motors and radial flux motors with external rotor. Of course, this also includes BLDC motors, which are also known as brushless DC motors. And you will find out which applications high torque motors are used for. You will also see why high torque motors do not need a gearbox and what advantages this has. You will also find out why high torque motors are a good choice for boats, motorbikes, mobile robots and planes.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to write them in the comments.
I will be happy to help you and of course I am always happy to receive especially nice feedback.

    Unterscheidung Polmaschinen v.s Reluktanzmotoren: 1) es gibt auf der einen Seite Polmaschinen (# Reluktanz motor): a) Synchronvollpolläufer b) Außenläuferpolmotor (PMSM) 2) Reluktanzmotoren (# Polmotoren) a) synhrone Reluktanzmaschine b) sequentiell schaltbare, (wie Lauflicht) Reluktanzmaschinen (SRM) c) zusätzliche verschachtelte Spulen mit Frequezteilern (FRM) A) Bei Reluktanzmotoren sind beide Spulen parallel angeordnet und gleiten tangential vorbei. (andererseits, die beiden Pole um 90 ° praktisch nach außen weggedreht) bilden natürlich auch einen magnetischen Widerstand. Diese gleiten voll tangential aneinander vorbei. Induzieren aber trotzdem effektiv. Sind die Pole entgegen (also gegenüber liegend) aufeinander angeordnet handelt es sich um einen Polmotor. B) Sind die Pole mit 180 ° senkrecht aufeinander gerichtet ist es somit ein Vollpolmotor , also keinesfalls ein Reluktanzmotor. Sind davon ungleiche Pole zueinander in der Nähe zubewegend [z.B durch Anziehung] ist es meist ein Motor . Sind davon gleiche Pole [abstoßende Pole] zueinander in der Nähe mit Schwung zubewegend ist es ein Dynamo . C) ein guter Gleichstrommotor hat langstreckige kleeblattförmige tangentiale kufenförmige effiziente Polwechsler. D) reine Wechselstrommotoren sind noch uneffektiver, das ändern auch teure Reluktanzscheiben oft nur wenig. E) Reluktanzscheiben sind noch keine Reluktanzmotoren man kann diese sogar in eine Induktionsheizplatte einbauen Das ist aber dann noch kein Motor. So ist die Definition ! 90 ° gedrehte dann voll parallele Reluktanzantriebs - Spulen v.s. voll senkrechten knallharten Vollpolmotoren als wieder etwas ganz anderer Antrieb.Sie kosten viel und sind oft gar nicht entsprechend zweckbestimmt immer anwendbar.

    I do not understand why and ‘additional coolant’ is needed in the induction motor. In fact, I had no idea that any coolant was needed at all! I took a physics class at Cal Berkrley’s Lawrence Hall of Science at age 11, and this did not come up. Could you expatiate on this?

    I'm in the process of rewinding my old brushed dc motor. I think it had lap winding. I don't need the level of torque it had and it had a no load draw of 200w. I was looking at Wave windings but not sure it would be enough torque .

    • @Electric-Motor
      @Electric-Motor Місяць тому

      Adapting brushed motors is not as easy as with BLDC motors. This is because you naturally change the motor characteristics by adapting the winding. With a BLDC motor, you can simply adapt the software. With a brushed motor, however, the control is mechanically fixed. Therefore, only small winding adjustments are probably possible.

      @@Electric-Motor I subsribed. Can i ask one more question? I know this question is basic but sometimes it stack in my mind. As you know, Input power=Output+Loss, Input = V.I - Output= (torque) . (rad/s). So, we kept the rpm constant, and ıf we increase amps, torque increases. Okey. But what is the effect of motor types to torque, why we choose different rotor and stator geometry? Because if we increase the amps, we can get more torque. In my opinion, it is related to torque per unit rotor volume(TRV) and current density or effiency, isn't it? Thanl you

    • @Electric-Motor
      @Electric-Motor Місяць тому

      @@azizcanbozkurtf1 In certain areas, BLDC motors with magnets behave relatively linearly. This means that below the rated speed and the maximum torque, the torque can be adjusted with the phase current. If you exceed the maximum torque or the rated speed, the motor starts to behave non-linearly. This means that doubling the phase current does not lead to a doubling of the torque. The main reason for this is the saturation of the material. It is highly dependent on the motor design and motor type. Thank you for subscribing.
