      @@CreationOutdoors The reason I said that is because I shot in the TAC event in Broken Bow, Ok in a thunderstorm & I experienced the same thing - my string was making slight contact with my sleeve. I'd shoot right every time.

    Yep, yep and yep! We see all these things in every TAC video. Probably 99% of the shooters seem to have NEVER watched a professional archer and picked up on their process. And punching those releases of every kind. For some reason lately I have developed the routine of shooting too fast. This is on my hunting rig at the same draw weight as my 3-d comp bow. Of course there’s no magnification in my hunting scope so I’m not getting focused as clearly and intently on a spot to shoot at. My hits at 30 and 40 are only slightly different than with the 3-d setup. Plenty good for my normal hunting shot distances, 3” size groups at 30 and 5” average at 40 yards. I’m just going thru the shot sequence faster which I’m surely not used to. It’s probably ok for hunting? but it gives me a feeling of less control. Having control over the shot process is mandatory for success. After 50+ years of archery the journey continues! lol Another good video.👍👍

    Hey Cody, I was just taking with someone about this last week! I'm a recurve shooter and have been using this trick for about several years now. Some form changes can change the rotation, whenever I retune my equipment or change bows I'll test this. The main cause of rotation is slightly different for recurve shooters I believe it is caused by the release hand. Everyone has different shaped hands and finger pressure so no two people shoot exactly alike. Though the bow can make a difference too. If people whether compound or recurve have string contact issues (face, body, etc.) I believe this can also have an affect. For recurve archers I recommend making several shots to account for form inconsistencies and move back a couple of feet every two shots or so 5ft, 7ft, 9ft this will further exaggerate the rotation and make it a little easier to identify.

    • @CreationOutdoors
      @CreationOutdoors 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the insight! I can see that the release hand and form for recurve shooters play a big role and string contact for compound shooters. Another reason to have as little string contact as possible and to work on the fundamentals of form as the core of your accuracy.

  • @timbow50
    @timbow50 2 місяці тому

    I haven’t ever tested this but I wonder if you get the same left clocking results if you use a spined indexed shaft. The channel “ Matt in Texas “ spine checks his bare shafts then aligns the nock at 90 degrees to that mark with the stiffer side on top. Theory is all the arrows flex the same way at the shot? So, would a spine indexed shaft rotate differently than an arrow with the nock in an unknown spine location? Waiting on that video when you get bored or something lol. 👍👍

    • @CreationOutdoors
      @CreationOutdoors 2 місяці тому

      Certainly a valid point. I do spin the nocks 90 degrees check again and have not had the spin change direction. However, I agree and I am in the camp of trying to make all components as identical as possible to eliminate any possible inconsistency. As an aside, each of my last three bows has all shot the same - to the left.

    Nice job on the video. I went with the Mossy oak bottomland. I found I can remove it quicker and quieter by not locking it completely. I haven’t had any issues with attaching it that way. I only shoot with the one piece low pro on all the time. No rattles or becoming loose. It’s almost feels as it has 2 positions to clamp it. I have more than 1,000 arrows through it. The only issue I need a hack for is - how I’m going hang it when I’m in a saddle if (“if”- if) I decide to remove it while hunting. The tight spot I had prior had the loop. I had an issue hunting last year with my tight spot hitting my tree and lots of noise. Good luck with the new bow. Lastly, I did go with the bridge lock stabilizer (front) - no angle adjustments tho- but it packs incredibly well in a bow case.

    • @CreationOutdoors
      @CreationOutdoors 3 місяці тому

      Good info, thanks! When I take my quiver off in the saddle, I end up putting it partially in my backpack. That way I have the fletchings toward me so I can quickly grab an arrow, but I set it up so it is out of the way. Far from perfect, and I may change my process, just what I’ve done in the past.
