@@EmnestraeMedia I found the problem! I had to do the harbinger quest and then I had to finish the war within intro. After that I ported to Dalaran and he showed up!

@@trey_dizzle4161 Glad you figured it out. Interesting. A phasing issue. I wonder if it would have worked if you had just dropped the Harbinger quest too and then picked it up later.

That's a good question. May I ask why you want to recover them? Because of their low ilvl they're of limited use. And the appearances should be in your collection if you want to use them for transmog. Edit: You piqued my interest so I did a little searching. There was a period immediately following Legion when people complained because artifacts were undeletable. I don't know if that's still the case, will experiment when I get the chance. In other words, your artifact weapons may still be in your inventory somewhere (void storage?). This was never an issue for me because I'm a pack rat and kept all my artifacts to this day because nostalgia :)

Indeed. The logic of your take is undeniable. If only I had had the emotional intelligence to see it from the beginning, I could have emerged from isolation sooner.

Very good question. I don't know the answer, but two things occur to me: 1) There is so much content in this game. Some effort needs to be devoted by the devs to reinvigorating legacy content to make it desirable by current/max lvl characters to return to it. 2) I have it on good authority that returning players (ie my offspring that played many years ago and want to re-up) that they are overwhelmed by the amount of content, don't know where to go or what content to pursue. The devs need to find a way to help those people. One way would be to make legacy end-game content (eg final raids of all previous expansions) SOLOABLE (using current AI tech) for at-level characters so they can grokk what is going on in the legacy content. These are some of my thoughts. What are yours?

Yeah, it's a valid point. I think the difference is that with the Illidari the significant moral choices pre-exist your character, they happen off-stage, so to speak, so they feel "baked in" to the class fantasy. The reason the key Death Knight moral choice feels so bad is because it seems like they're giving you an off-ramp, but then pull the rug out from under you (how's that for a mixed metaphor?). I could be wrong about the Illidari starting quest line because it's been a while since I did it--but revisiting it might make for an interesting follow-up video.

So I had to do a little research to answer your question. That was a debuff called "Marked by the Night Haunter." I must have flown by him at just the right moment! If you get 10 stacks of that debuff you can fight the Night Haunter for his phat lewtz. Wowhead notes that "The Night Haunter is a reference to Warhammer 40,000. The Primarch of the Night-Lords Space Marine legion was Konrad Kurze, aka The Night Haunter." But a lesser known fact is that "Konrad Kurze" is a reference to "The Heart of Darkness," a novella by Joseph Conrad, whose "antagonist" is one "Mr. Kurtz." If you've seen Apocalypse Now," a loose adaptation of that novella, you know what I'm sayin.

Cool. I mentioned doing it at level briefly at 14:20. When I did it I just didn't have any sub-60 Chromie-Time eligible characters who still needed it the mount.

Given the current (inordinate) rate of XP gain, I would hesitate to state categorically that you can finish it by 60--but that should not stop you from trying!

Thanks for the feedback! I can totally see spending that number of hours on the Mass Effect games, especially if you explore all the nooks and crannies and try all the different narrative outcomes. I tend to only spend hundreds of hours on open world or sandbox type games. Cities: Skylines, Kerbal Space Program, and Skyrim are my top three in terms of hours played. Single-player, that is. Don't ask me about my World of Warcraft /played . . .
