Hi There, This channel is about patients and exercise. It is created as a resource to help patients to exercise in a safe and enjoyable manner. It will combine short videos with information regarding the value of exercise and specific exercise videos with a physiotherapist that anyone can do at home.

How do you pace yourself through an exercise programme?
In this video I talk through how I advise patients to pace through an exercise programme. There is a lot of talk about grading exercise prgrammes where there is a fixed increase in the amount you do. I prefer to pace exercise through what you can do in terms of both time and enjoyment and this way you initially focus on forming the habit. Later on you can focus more on the intensity of the exercise which is how hard it is. The three things to consider are the frequency, duration and the intensity with a focus on frequency and duration before changing up the intensity.
