Good thing I independently recorded the performances from this stream because the streamed recording had some mic/audio issues. This is my first time hearing Riyoko's acoustic piano at an in-person live. Riyoko is a world-class Japanese Jazz pianist and composer who isn't bound by a single genre or style and has crossed classical, traditional Japanese, pop, EDM, and anime genre boundaries and styles in her compositions, arrangements, and performances. She's a classically trained prodigy and has been playing piano since age 4 and for well over 3 decades, latter 2 of which she dedicated to Jazz. She's renowned for her musicality, deep harmonic understanding, live performances full of energy with fluent improvisations, and delicate touch on the keys. Together with her talent and charming character she continues to proliferate Jazz and attract many fans from all over the world. Over 700 people tuned in live for this stream from New York. After the stream, Nabuko-san cooked us a yummy home-made Japanese meal that 4 of us enjoyed. Later that evening, Riyoko had one more 2-hour trio live gig at Tomi Jazz restaurant in NYC. What a super-cool and action-packed day that was but Riyoko was tired and rested a few hours in between the two gigs. I left my home at 5am to pick-up Riyoko and returned back at 3am but wasn't even that tired and was at work before 8am. Earlier this week I got a suggestion/idea from a talented friend on here youtube.com/@PianoImprovVlogger who plays by ear, to make an edit to Riyoko's music. This was a learning experience: 1. I didn't have electronic stabilization enabled for videos on my camera (now I do and it makes the world of difference), 2. I wanted to blend Riyoko and the photos/videos and I had to settle for using transparency/opacity but that meant giving up some Autumn color pop in the footage.
