    Riyoko's channel: youtube.com/@riyopiano website: riyoko.jp
This past couple of weekends I took some photos and videos (still learning) while hiking out in the woods. Earlier this week I got a suggestion/idea from a talented friend on here youtube.com/@PianoImprovVlogger who plays by ear, to make an edit to Riyoko's music. So I used live versions of Riyoko's season-fitting originals 'Autumn Song' ua-cam.com/video/R5cmTzw9kP8/v-deo.html from her 'Midnight in Blue' (2nd 2023) album and 'September Wind' ua-cam.com/video/k2RaoI1nz1I/v-deo.html from her 'The Piano Story' (1st 2023) album since they perfectly fit the season. This was a learning experience: 1. I didn't have electronic stabilization enabled for videos on my camera (now I do and it makes the world of difference), 2. I wanted to blend Riyoko and the photos/videos and I had to settle for using transparency/opacity but that meant giving up some Autumn color pop in the footage.
Riyoko is a world-class Japanese Jazz pianist and composer who isn't bound by a single genre or style and has crossed classical, traditional Japanese, pop, EDM, and anime genre boundaries and styles in her compositions, arrangements, and performances. She's a classically trained prodigy and has been playing piano since age 4 and for well over 3 decades, latter 2 of which she dedicated to Jazz. She's renowned for her musicality, deep harmonic understanding, live performances full of energy with fluent improvisations, and delicate touch on the keys. Together with her talent and charming character she continues to proliferate Jazz and attract many fans from all over the world.
You can learn more about Riyoko and sample more of her music from playlists on my channel home. Riyoko doesn't really make short clips of her music and a lot of her music and performances are missing from her own channel due to Japanese copyright laws, where venues own all the rights to recordings on their premises. Because of that Riyoko can't freely share a lot of her music with us. But an artist like this should be shared with the world, so I'm making it rain on my channels.

@@Tom1955o5m Uh oh, we have a full house here now - hey Tom! I had a bit of a dilemma and I had to blend using transparency/opacity which came with a trade-off of reducing popping Autumn colors in the photos and videos. I also didn't have my E-stabilization enabled in camera, so footage is wobbly, which after testing more makes a huge difference. It's a learning curve. Always improving something after every session.

@@PianoImprovVlogger I barely had enough shots that are in horizontal aspect ratio. I took a bunch of wide-angle photos of trees full height to the sky in a vertical aspect but can't really use them in a video like this. Good thing I also had some videos. But for videos I realized that I didn't have electronic stabilization enabled in camera settings so they are wobbly, but I fixed it going forward. It's a fun hobby for sure and I'm learning a lot every time I take photos or record something. Actually, Riyoko is also responsible for my photography and videography hobby. When she was here back in June, I had to dust off my camera kit which hasn't been used for 2 years. It only had one lens suitable for recording her performances but that lens wasn't good enough for dark environments she performed in. After she went back to Japan, I studied camera optics physics and updated my camera kit with new lenses to be ready to shoot in any environment. I even added a directional external mic to focus on the performer and attenuate ambient noise. Now I'm just learning to use it all properly. It's a process. Getting better every time I use it.
