We are three siblings with a passion for cooking and for making traditional recipes for our families. We share our family heritage with you and demonstrate traditional home cooking using modern conveniences without affecting quality. All our recipes are at least 50 years old and have been enjoyed by generations of our family. We cover recipes from Italy, Slovak, Poland, English, Ireland, Germany and other countries.
Chicken and Potato Casserole
Chicken and Potato Casserole
(Makes 8 servings)
Ingredients
2 boneless chicken breasts
5 potatoes
1 large onion
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
¾ stick of butter
1 cup cream or milk
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp granulated garlic
2 tsp paprika
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cut the chicken breast into small cubes
Dice the onion
In a sauté pan, cook the onion in butter until slightly translucent then add the chicken and cook until done
Add ½ of each onion powder, granulated garlic, paprika and salt and pepper to the chicken then cook for an additional 2 minutes, let cool slightly
Peel and very thinly slice the potatoes
In a greased casserole layer ½ of the potatoes, season with onion powder, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper
Place the chicken and onion mixture on top of potatoes then sprinkle ½ of the shredded cheese.
Put the last layer of remaining potatoes on top, season with remaining onion powder, granulated garlic and paprika, salt and pepper
Add the remaining shredded cheese on top
Pour the cream on top of the layered casserole
Cover and cook 375˚ for approximately ½ hours, then uncover and cook until potatoes are soft and the casserole is bubbly

Very similar to Pasta a la Norma which I've made several times which is another Sicilian pasta dish with eggplant.
Hi Wendy, yes the difference is that this dish adds sausage and/or chicken to it.

But I was wondering if you have a recipe for Ukrainian kuch, oats soaked and cooked, honey, poppyseed wet, 2 kinds of raisins, salt and cook in frig for a day. It's delicious.
