    Interesting… I’ve got a cs-310 that I gutted the muffler on, and slightly retuned. I had not seen anything on this until your video. Although full disassembly isn’t an issue, I see the potential for me to mess up with the metal-cutting here. It runs quite well right now so I’ll probably leave it alone, but this was interesting to see.

    Here in Germany the chain oil, the 5 liter canister costs...32 euros!!!! I live close to the border of France, there I can get it for 10 euros. This is really bad for us. Diesel 1.70 euros. Europe is getting worse. Greetings Peter

    • @crazyfeller5704
      @crazyfeller5704 8 місяців тому

      Wow, that is expensive. Typically costs are lower where I live, but wages reflect that as well. The bar oil shown here is about 1/2 the cost of many other areas. Diesel varies, we use gallons, but it would be the equivalent of 1 euro per liter. Much higher in California or New York-they like taxes!.

      @@crazyfeller5704 does that specific tree go by any other name? Looks just like a tree I recently brought down in my yard that is hard as heck to split - best I can tell from comparing internet photos is it’s persimmon Round these parts (Georgia) poplars are sometimes called cottonwood - and the tree in my yard I mentioned before is definitely not poplar Thanks

    • @crazyfeller5704
      @crazyfeller5704 8 місяців тому

      It’s called poplar as well. This is the most common type around my area, they are called “cottonwood” because they shed cotton like spores similar to like a dandelion, just bigger. I believe the females do that and the males have some other kind of bud. Most around here have that green wood in the center and a beige/gray wood near the bark. They get really big….i mean really big. We also have a tulip poplar, different type of bark and leaves. Not sure why they are called that, but that’s the name! Large buds on that one at the end if the season. My experience, lighter color of wood, haven’t seen green center and easier to cut than the cottonwood.

    Glad you had fun with 'ole Pete, Doug! I am eager to get him back and do something fun with him. At first I thought you were running a ms250 and i couldn't believe what i was seeing! But then i figured it out and was like oh, yeah. 026 wuth a muffler mod, that makes more sense. Some things to say about Pete's grand tour... he had problems with the fuel system from the very first stop at Brennans place. Seemed like Aaron fixed it, but...we don't know because to me, it seems like it has never ran right in anyones video. Remember, the last time i ran that saw, it was neck and neck with 2 stock 550xp's. Beat by the mk 1 and defeated the mk2. (The mk2 had an air leak). That footage was real and undoctored, hand to god! So, im wondering if either in that moment, I caused a problem and maybe there is some cylinder flaking, or if at Brendan's there was a problem that it never recovered from. Just tinking out loud, really. I'm perfectly fine with it sucking hind titt to everything, just seems contrary to my results. Seemed like everyone tuned it fat too. I guess no one wants to be the one to blow it up! It's been fun watching him travel all around and I hope it was fun for people. I still haven't decided what im going to do with him. Maybe I'll build him better and run him at sawfest, or maybe I'll start from scratch with a different saw. Think I'll do a vote post.

      Well I was thinking that too…I thought it had kept up one of the auto tunes- didn’t remember which. It runs good, fat or not. On a slow churn, it pumps up and seems to have surprisingly high compression. Charles said that 026 was an anomaly for a stocker/ better than average.
