Fiesta ST Canister Replacement - P1450 Fix
Переглядів 6497 місяців тому
After swapping our Evap harness we still had the P1450 code. This solved the code issue and also includes the common failed valve located on this box. This was a result of being unable to replace the valve on the old canister box - so we replaced the whole thing. At 163k miles we figured it was time anyway :)

I have a pig mix he's a complete maniac.
I’m replacing the CV Axle on the passenger side of a 2014 Ford Fusion, would I have too still drain the transmission fluid, before removing the CV Axle on the passenger side ??
Typically the transmission fluid will leak out regardless of which side you’re pulling out.
@@gapperformance damn. Alright thanks man i appreciate your advice & this video 👍🏼👌🏼
@@gapperformance one last question. Can I still re use the same transmission fluid or would I have too buy new transmission fluid??
I would use new stuff personally, since the risk of getting contaminants from the old stuff into the transmission is very high. I know it’s not too cheap, but I stick with the factory spec motor craft fluid since it’s actually quite decent
Thanks to you it worked and I so appreciate you having this information available. Once again thank you
You’re welcome! Please help me back with the subscribe! :)
Lol stupid neighbor it's a free country
Haha yes and part of freedom is raising kids like me to be polite and considerate. Making other people happy is pretty easy and feels great
Thanks
Happy to help! Hit me back with the sub to help out the channel :)
Whats the tool called
You're a lifesaver! That thing was driving me crazy! Thanks for the video!
Glad I could help! Help back with the sub :)
I have to go and check the codes on my 2011 Acadia tomorrow (just worked a 12 hr shift so didn't make it today) but fingers crossed this is the issue! Thanks in advance either way
I ❤ Pugs! 🐾
how you got that radio system in the mk7? looking for that for a while now
If you google “fiesta ST forscan guide forum” there are xcel documents out there that give you the codes for the different vehicles and models so you can switch to whatever you like.
very interesting
I replaced the sensor and didn't resolve my problem doesn't true
I’m sorry it didn’t fix your issue. Based on the comments this fix definitely works quite often and is worth the cheap cost of a sensor to find out.
Thank you so much!!
You’re welcome, please help me back with the sub!
THANK YOU! I want to disable all of these cameras and tech.
Haha me too! It’s nice to have but only when it’s optional. Please help us back with the sub!
After installing the downpipe again with the defouler on, would you recommend getting the straight or j style defouler for ease of installation? I wasn't sure if there was any clearence issues with either so I just wanted to make sure.
This one was specifically made for the fiesta ST from whoosh and I’ve had no clearance issues with it, should be good with either option though since it’s just a sensor trick. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Hello. At 4:11, those bearings, I think mine are worn and that my axle is making noise in there. Is it pretty easy to pull those apart and check without doing anything else?
Could you leave a link to all the tools
It's honestly easier to just drop the whole strut from the top. In any case, once the axle is in, it's a pain in the ass to get the knuckle lined up with the strut. Fucking fwd 🙄
Saved my ass too! Thanks so much for the tip

Great video help me fix my power steering issue
Thank you for this video
Of course thanks for watching and please subscribe to help us back! :)
This just happened to me and my friggin´ heart stopped. For what it´s worth, I first threw in a gob of wax from a chapstick into the hole. This way if any shavings are generated they will stick in the threaded ID and not fall into the cylinder. I then took a large flat head screwdriver and knife-edged both sides to engage counter-clockwise. I applied light pressure so the edges would dig in and it came out easily. In the event anything worked its way into the cylinder I connected a plastic tube to my vacuum cleaner and snaked it into the cylinder (after removing the broken threads of course) and rotated to engine a smidge to ensure valves were open. This way the vacuum would create turbulence and flow that would hopefully suck up any potential material that worked it´s way in. After a few minutes of this I added a new spark plug and tested the bike. Everything looks good, fingers crossed. Good luck guys.
Saw future videos....can Confirm on the tape lol "Wow even I lied about the tape" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Temp fix = Perm Fix Lyfe!! (My Universal CV Axle boot is still superglued to my axle.....I get it !) Tks for the vid guys! Also: Rain concerns?
Haha concerns no, impacts….no idea it’s gone now. Didn’t blow up while he had it 😂
bug guards makes cat eyes and most old chevy trucks look 100 times better
I know haha it’s so weird but it works. Love the cat eye. Wish the rust would go away though
did it make any kind of weird noise when these were bad ?
Nope just leaked fluid down the axles. Are you having some kind of noise issue?
@@gapperformance i am having a weird sound for sure, in neutral is makes like a weird noise 30 mph or less i think it is the input axle shaft bearing
Hi there, slightly odd sounding question but do you sit alot lower in the non-recoros? I find I’m sat way too high in the standard ST seats. Cheers
Honestly to haven’t even thought about it. I’d say your butt is the same height but the recaros push your thighs up a lot higher than the standard seats
Two of my quick connects snapped taking mine apart. All to find out you cannot access the backup camera this way. Fucking ford, man.
Do you have the link for 2013 fiesta SE model cuz mine are leaking bad and i want to replace em
Hey man so I changed the Solenoid and I’m still getting varied and extended crank times. Is that the issue you were having as well? Just trying to troubleshoot.
No my main issue was idling poorly and it would try to stall out whenever I stopped at a stop sign lol
Do you have the part number for thisnor site i can get from?
I got my windscreen replaced and I'm pretty sure the guy who did it put them on backwards after watching this video. Would I need to recalibrate etc or just swap them out? Appreciate the video its been driving my crazy
You should be able to just swap them. I usually have dust marks from when I removed them, but if you eyeball it, worst case you’ll just have to remove them and place them higher or lower at the bottom of the windshield. Doesn’t take too long
What a legend, thank you for posting this!
Ball Joint not actually removed.
There is no actual ball joint if you really think about it, since we’re all being so smart
Dude, thanks! Thought Safelite guy was incompetent after changing my windshield out... But I see he just had swapped them. Same issue here, going to fix now, thanks!
Glad I could help! Please help back with the sub!
Definitely doing this to my N after seeing this video!!
I think it’s worth it, makes you wonder why they didn’t do it from the factory
Yeah definitely, these give it a more “premium” feel to it. By the way your video was much more clearer with the instructions than the instructions given with the struts. Truly appreciate it!
@a36saulito14 glad I could help! Please help back with subscribe :)
I'm fairly certain this is the issue im having with my car. If i kept driving for a week or so and just skip 3/4 am i going to hurt it more?
If you have to you have to, if you have another vehicle I’d mitigate any further damage
Mines a 64 diesel, goes in reverse then pops out , or makes bad grinding sound then jumps out but not every time
A 64 diesel what? I’m sure it’s an entirely different issue
Can I get window decal from you please
What kind?
That's actually enough room to reach the drain plug?
Yessir, I’m 5 foot 8 and fat and had no issue getting to the filter or drain plug. I put a paper towel roll under my head so my neck doesn’t hurt too haha
Have you rotated your tires yet? If yes, what ft lbs do you torque your lug nuts to?
I’m a nice guy but googling something that easy for you seems unethical to be fair
Hey man doing the same swap at the moment. Without the sound synposer system in the regular ST motors. What did you do to the vacuum recirc that comes from the BOV?
So I’m not sure I understand exactly what you’re referring to. 1. I did remove the sound symposer entirely and capped it at the firewall 2. I ran true boost reference from the intake manifold and routed it to the bov and used a defeat plug to trick the computer into thinking it was still plugged in. I never liked how aftermarket bov worked with the electronic control. I don’t remember having recirc just vent to atmosphere
Good to know. Going to purchase a set for my 2024. thanks for the content.
Thanks for the friendly comment! Please subscribe to help us back :)
Did you buy a new shifter mechanism cause you wanted a new one or did this fix only work temporarily till it broke? Ive got a 2014 still have yet to look at it
I did because it wasn’t too expensive and I figured if it was worn out from previous abuse, I would rather go in there to fix everything once. You could definitely epoxy the piece back on for cheap, but if you can find a shifter mechanism for cheap it’s not that hard and definitely worth doing
@@gapperformance okay cool man I appreciate the response this helps alot!
Thanks so much! I just bought a used Acadia and freaked out when all the chimes started up with Stabilitrack and traction control. $20 at O'Reillys and about 10 minutes later, no chimes. Most appreciated!
These stories warm my heart. Thank you for taking the time to comment and please help us back with the subscribe! Have a great weekend!
Mi carro manda ese mensaje y se apaga, se subió la temperatura tambien
What kind of ramps are those? Also, did you have to take off the splash shield underneath or left it on?
Nope left the splash shield on, I posted a short with them on my channel with the link in the description. $38 on Amazon
this video made doing this so easy thank you. I got this done in under 1.5 hours with the video
Glad I could help you! Please help me back with the subscribe! :)
Planning on tackling this repair this weekend, hope all goes well
@vmaine94 I’ll keep my eye open for comments, good luck! Should be easy enough
Does this work for a 2017???
Your one of the few that did this properly, thank you for following the torque specifications. Great car btw!!
Thank you! I tried to make it short and sweet and warranty friendly
Hmm is there another seal inside? I replaced mine and it's still leaking
Where is it leaking from? There is another video on my channel showing the input shaft seal was the culprit
@@gapperformanceleaking out the new seal the drivers side
@@columbiariverdetailing1943 could be, but mine was dripping between the motor and trans and running down the seal, or it might not have seated properly on reinstallation
How gentle did you have to tap the new seal in?@@gapperformance
@columbiariverdetailing1943 not too gently. I just made sure to use a rubber mallet and to take my time, but that said it only going in so far. I noted what the old ones looked like. If you use a regular hammer you’ll just mess up the new bearing
Why are you not using the amsoil filter?
Easy answer - one extra layer of arguing on a warranty and the stock filters are great and $7 a filter is cheap :)
@gapperformance Didn't think about your vehicle still being under warranty, that actually makes perfect sense.
@xOGKuSh I know it’s weird for me too haha. Luckily amsoil covers almost every factory oil spec in existence. Filters, crush washers, and torque specs are good to keep for evidence of they ever argue on warranty stuff
