What's in the box? Felt sorry for this Rathtar figure from Hasbro that's been sitting on the shelf in my local HMV for 8 years - despite tentacle madness, its a pretty cool figure. That's a great find!
Thanks! Had to do a double take as I walked passed the shop window…
Your dad is an awesome dad. Heck yeah bro.
Yeah he was pretty awesome - felt like he was into 40k before anyone else was and one hell of a painter
use it for a 40k demon spawn conversion
My dad would’ve done this - he was always buying up action figures and converting them into Warhammer scenery/monsters/vehicles!
Who needs money when you gots minis?.
Too many minis - got a good few boxes full!
It's a couple of months to go, did you ever pick up any of other issues, or like me left it at issue 20 as I said was the amount that fit into the free binder 😄
So I was in Forbidden Planet in London last weekend and they have a bookcase full of them all (guess they really sold slowly) - spent half an hour peering through the plastic trying to gage if I should pick some up but ultimately they were still £8.99 an issue and just loads of dice. The encounters that I could see looked ok but in the end I passed
I specially ordered that one from Amazon because of how cool it looked in the movie.
Think it’s the best bit of tFA but should’ve been a bit longer
ohhhh! I love that thing so much, I'll have to try to buy that online
I found it for stupid cheap (though the shipping was 3x the price)
I need the Wampa in the same range it looks very cool too
That's weird the head is supposed to be moveable that's why u can remove the cap
So when it fell off into my kids hands I thought - well, think it’s meant to come off - but then the head inside will not budge and the pole is so thin it looks ready to snap!
My kid would love that stupid thing
One of my three did, the others were like NOPE
i've made a few custom cthulu figures using that spagetti monsters tentrals.
I was pleased that they’re all unique tentacles- does look a little Lovecraftian 🐙
I have two! One toting luggage for my Star Tours shelf and one as the Sarlacc on my Sarlacc pit shelf. Love it!
That’s cool how’s it carrying all the luggage!? It does look very Sarlaccy, bet it looks great
@@moatmonstergaming the luggage that came with the 3.75 scale red star tours speeder seems made to held aloft by this guys tentacles.
I definitely wanted it, I just didn’t want it to be made so badly.
It’s not a bad as you think - my 4 year old played with it for a good hour and only one leg fell off, the one with the overpainted blobs in the socket. It’s definitely more robust than reviews had suggested
@ I’m happy you guys are happy with it. I purchased it the day it went onto shelves. 2016, I believe? It simply doesn’t hold together well especially compared to the vintage Dewback, Wampa, and Taun Taun. However, it looks OK in my display. I just make sure not to touch it.
Looks like the creature from dr strange 2
Shame there’s not more monsters in the Marvel films! Maybe in Dr Strange 3: Back In Training…
Isn't that the thing from Guardians of the Galaxy?
It does, you can imagine little Groot dancing round it!
This thing would make a great epic monster for d&d
Yeah a lot have people have said that! Maybe next game it’ll hit the table in a swamp or something!
I picked it up in the entertainer a few years ago going cheap I have the figure loose and left the creature in the box
Haha I did the reverse - have the creature loose and left the figure in the box!
treasure
Kitbash.
I want one!
I want another!
Honestly I like the toy itself it could be interesting as a dnd monster
Funny you should say that!! I play DnD and often grab rando monster toys to use if I don’t think a DnD Miniature will suffice
It looks like those floating monsters that come out of the jars in Baldur's Gate 3, can't remember what they're called
@@Teeheehee093 the spectator it's a spieces of beholder
I'd buy one if I ever saw one
I have one and it's great, but I throw it in with my sea creatures instead of my starwars stuff
Wow what sort of sea creatures?
That takes me back damn man, and now I’m a 40 year old father and tyranid collector (40k).
My love of 40K all stems from Space Crusade... Necron Collector!
hahaha the Rob Liefeld reference!
haha I normally try to cram a Liefeld reference in here and there - though normally about feet!
I bought that set when it was new, because I have a shelf display of Star Wars wildlife. And, yeah, decent sculpt and paint, but WAY smaller than it should have been. ALL those sets (Rathtar, Wampa, Probe Droid) consisted of a box that was at least 60% empty space. As for the Force Link 2.0 thing, I don't think I ever saw one in the shops (although toy shopping in Torbay has always been pretty pathetic). Having said that, I recall something about QC issues with the thing, anyway, so I don't think we're missing out on much.
That sounds like the greatest idea ever - I'm totally going to do a shelf of just the animals, creatures and monsters. Plus that box was easily 60% empty, going to have to try and track down the others, only have a POF Probe Droid and always thought it looked oddly sized and rubbish
@moatmonstergaming Thank you! I love alien creatures, and I figured they deserved their own display -- from the fambaas and rancors all the way down to the little pack-ins like snakes, kouhuns, and gorgs. Oh, and the probe droid and wampa are excellent updates! I can highly recommend both, especially if you can find them for the original MSRP or lower. I think the only way the wampa could've been better is if it had the added swivel/rocker diaphragm articulation of the 2004 Ultra-Class Wampa. I did a full review article (with pictures) of said wampa over at the creaturecantina website.
I read the Wampa review with really detailed pictures but I even more enjoyed watching you match action figures to their booze and your prop spotting into different franchises! Who knew Flash and Star Wars were linked!
@@moatmonstergaming Thank 'e very much! Working on another little run of Action Figures & Their Beverages, at the moment. Not sure when they'll be ready to go, but I hope by the end of the month!
I really like the details
Definitely like how each tentacle is unique and do like the teeth and mottled spots on its back!
FIRST!!!!!!!🎉🎊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
We played this almost immediately after it came out and enjoyed getting into the City. Loved the City Map. We got a lot of play value from what was in the City, but were disappointed by the fact that there wasn't a Yuan Ti Force in the city or all the trade goods from the caravans they had been raiding. I think there might have been three or four Yuan Ti in the entire module. The City does need to be fleshed out.
I remember pouring over the maps in this as a kid and it was the module that made me want to design my own maps - these early dungeon (city?) crawls were some of the best along with the early Gamma World ones
it cost the equivalent of £60 todays money. £60 would get you a download only now a days LoL
Not only that - it'd be an unfinished product requiring multiple patches and endgame locked behind DLC...
Grew up with them They were just cool toys
They were! I had more of the comics than the toys and didn't understand why the toys weren't like the comics!
As a collector of old GW stuff this is a real treat to see. Also the painted ones at a glance seem quite well done
@@jayhall1234 Thanks, that was my dad. I have fond memories of watching him paint while I read White Dwarf as a kid. I’ve got a whole toolbox full of his miniatures to do next time!
Mega Force! LET's GO!!!!!
@@toddklein77 If only they were based on the ‘82 movie!
@ Indeed.
Just found this video; I still have mine from when I was a kid.
@@seanstoyroom2021 It’s one of my favourite lines - the lore was pretty good, shame it never got a cartoon!!
Dude where did you get the bone age stuff, superb job sir, you hardly see bone age, happy new year
@@liveanadventure429 I know! Nearly impossible to find, kicking myself for missing out on the Pterodactyl on eBay recently… Happy New Year!
キャプテンパワーいいですよね!! 子供の頃に日本でも放映していて大好きでした。
The toys are so cool! Wish the show did better, didn’t realise it was big in Japan!!
The D&D one was just so poorly thought out. The overload of dice was a joke. I think the magazine would have been great for a game group to have, like a club. Having that all together would be great for new people joining the club who want to get into D&D. A much bigger focus on minis, screens, maps, etc. would have been a far better idea.
I know, would've been so much better with 2D miniatures (or even 3D!), more maps and card handouts. I agree about the clubs, I think it would've been a good tool for schools too
Cool! I’ve been building my collection. I’m only missing the Queen Hive playset.
Thanks, the Queen Hive at the top of my wish list!

I had one just like that. I loved these toys. Coolest toys ever made.
They were all cool - but the Battle Crane was my favourite
@@moatmonstergaming strange how they (toy industry) didn't and still don't make toys like those. Pressing buttons , gadgets and hidden features in an " action toy" is an awesome concept. I used to love toys like space ships and airplanes with cargo doors and retractable wheels etc for some reason. I think kids these days aren't using their imagination and fantasy like our generation did. Everything is " pre programmed" with all the " smart" products. Anyways, thanks for a good video! Keep up the good work.
About to start running a dark sun campaign and was scrolling shorts for inspiration. Thank you! Subbed!
Hey, thanks! I keep meaning to do a video on my collection, got most of it but one book. There's some great quests
Cuanto mide

Love your Ravenloft content
Thanks, had a bit of a break but doing more for Halloween!
This is awesome! More Dark Sun content
Spike lost eye privileges that's why. All the budget went into that clear plastic canopy taking away all the funding for the paint on his face. I guess we should be happy they painted his hair atleast 😅😂
Haha, I don't know if that's true or not, but sounds just like Hasbro to scrimp on paint because of more expensive plastic!!
These remind me of GI Joe extreme
Bulky and not resembling the source material? Totally!
This is a really cool homage to Color Out of Space
Yes definitely, I often think they should've included a little more Lovecraft in Ravenloft
@@moatmonstergamingima be running a campaign inspired by the ravenloft setting and will definitely include cosmic horror elements
i own every FF gamebook and this is by far one of the worst yet. it's 90% traps which result in a game over. I died 6 times in a row 3 of them being not being able to get past chance rolls! I dare you to do this book without cheating :P
@@bladexdsl You’re right, it’s not the best, currently playing Night Of The Necromancer for the first time and there’s a huge difference in quality. I did have to cheat - no traps killed me but I was perhaps far too cautious and missed the golden keys I needed. Had to cheat them to see the end…
Night of Neuromancer is great. But i AM hearing good things about this too.
i don't know i never bought and in the 80's. i played so much D&D. I am not sure I even saw any. I was very much into Marvel and DC. Not so much anymore. I did buy some of the ones like Black & White from a few decades ago. I have read some of the Minsc and Avernus. They were cool, but then I stopped collecting comics all together. :D
Did you know you can take either side of the Bishop toy body off, then with the resulting peg that sticks out of the shoulder, you can attach the gattling gun and turn him into a bipedal gun turret. it's very silly and very fun.
I didn't realise both sides come off!! I forgot you could fix the gattling gun on, had discovered it by accident while playing in the 90s
Cool robots!! 10/10
