How to SAVE MONEY on Lego Pick A Brick!
Great video! I had no idea you had to remake the first floor to adapt your existing modulars to fit the MILS system. I wish I started earlier.
The best advice i can give is to look beyond just Lego to other brands like Funwhole and Pantasy. You're going to dramatically expand your options for modulars, get the same quality or better, and save a ton versus Lego prices.
That plane looks awful. You’d think Lego would understand how to build something. Thank God we have Cobi😌
great video, just bought my first modular (the museum). curious about the journey
5:13 that looks so dangerous 💀💀
Oh my God, my first module was also the bookshop that’s so funny
Great video and great MOC. I like the intro, it feels like you are introducing everyone to what creativity is and i find that amusing. Also the saying you mentioned was: "you have to crawl before you walk" (i think)
Hi, great video. The shelf is a great way to start. I have a ton of Lego City buildings from 10 years back where my children were young, but I want to combine it with the creator buildings. Is it the same scale and does it match? Greeting from The Netherlands.
In times past all you needed to call a place a city was a church and a post office. Seems reasonable to me.
Bro. Any instructions for this?
What are the shelves that you are using
What shelves are they
I got the book store and the center with the fountain on eBay for $265 on an eBay auction! I have the sanctum Santorum so I’m going put them together
I have those shelves from Amazon, what should I do since I don’t want to make my Avenger tower on a mild plate since it’s already been fully built, also since I don’t want to put a mils plate underneath, what do I do with a road plate because it would be higher than my sidewalk?
I only ever collected medieval and pirates… Then my wife got me the bookshop and the obsession took off from there lol. Got the assembly sqr next, followed by boutique hotel, jazz club, police station, and museum. Then a few months later I found the corner garage, detective’s office, brick bank, Parisian restaurant, and downtown diner all at a garage sale for $100 each. Still hunting for a good deal on my white whale sets, town hall and fire brigade.
Sweet victory ✌️ 👏 🙌 looks great I'm work on stage 2 of sorting through 100 lbs plus of legoes.
Personally, i only have a broken Corner garage barely hanging on and a bookshop set in my pathetic town so far, but since i have no other income and am relying on chirstmas, i certianly hope i get something to boost my city a bit, maybe a train and a small building. I just really dont want to do custom builds, I love using my imagination, but with lego i need instructions.
As somebody whose starting a city myself, my advice is to get at least one modular just as a nice center piece for your town, if this was 10 years ago I would have said snag the town hall, but sadly that things gonna cost you a kidney nowadays. So I would say go for something like the Police Precinct, or pick up the Boutique Hotel while you still can, or if you really want to go off the wall and not go for a modular, go for ninjago city gardens, it's set to retire by the end of this year I'm pretty sure, and it's cheap for 5000 pieces.
I have one modular building that being the sanctum sanctorum from lego marvel next week I get to start my lego city
how to build roads
We need to talk about this lego store moc. Absolutely fantastic!
Sweet victory!!
University for sure bro!!! I love what you have done with your sidewalks!!
Praise His Holy Name.
Thank you for the video, it's good to see how you feel about the minifigures.
Hi Cameron. Thankyou so much what you said about taking a step back. I’m returning to Lego after 40 years and new to city creations. I got myself so buried in wanting to have everything perfect that I couldn’t see the wood for the trees. I want everything and was buying loads of parts and sets but not actually moving forward. After watching this vlog it was like having a light switched on and I realised I needed to take a step back, and just hit one thing at a time. I’m loving your content and how you explain things, it makes it very easy to visualise in my own city. Plus you’ve given me a great idea of how I can have a tram line in my city, but that’s another project to go on the white board👍🏻👍🏻
That’s so awesome! I’m glad I could help! I feel like we have all been there! I am still running into this with how the city has evolved and my lack of time/energy. It can be really daunting to try and create things as fast as some content creators do.
This video Onestly made my day, thank you for this beautiful work
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s so cool that people are still finding this video. One of my favorites I’ve ever made. I definitely miss him a lot
Might have to cope this one
I definitely will want to grab it before it retires at the least! I’m still debating which should be first. This set or the DND set
@@CamTonergood luck with that
I am a fan Lego since my first set, I think was 1987 or 1988. Now, with 42 years old, I will start a little City. Congrats, from São Paulo, Brazil!
Very cool! Good luck!
Great video! Looks like an awesome build. Could you customize a bit to make the modular parts more secure?
For sure! I might do that as well as keep some of the plate work they used for sidewalks to tile over. Kinda make some steps up the the building
You just found the ultimate LEGO Exploit
Rebrickable is a dangerous place 😂😂😂
Honestly, those castle sand green windows work so nice. 💯
Glad you like them! 🎉
What a calm approach to the hobby. Love the suggestions, I’ll be checking out your mocs next! 😁
Thank you! 🎉🎉
Check out rubber parts mats from Harbor Freight to help sort pieces temporarily!!
amazing video 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you for watching! 😁
Awesome build!!
Glad you think so! This is one I’ve wanted for a while!
I get the same excited when I find one of your older decks at a great price.. I cant pass it up.
Right! It’s weird to think some are 6 years old 😂
Feel for yer after my own nightmares searching for pieces amongst huge containers, Lego with its bags REALLY spoils you, but this big dish of bricks way is the way Lego used to be. You used to spend 90% of the building time searching for that right piece, there was no speed builds back in the day. The worst is lots of black pieces, takes you twice as long. Sorting and trays can help a bit, but you can end up with so many trays its still difficult if you didnt take your time sorting. Cleaning Lego is easy, you get a huge cullender full of dirty bricks and you pop it in the dish washer, you then empty the bricks into a towel and you put it in the sun to dry, or somewhere warm, if its smokers stains then its time for the IsoProp Alcohol, this can take time.
It's not YET a modular! Love this moment, great video :)
Yes! Thank you! I’m glad you thought it was funny!
Good find, I wanne buy the brick bank but it’s pretty expensive. Any advice?
I would keep an eye out on marketplace or a brick and minifig store. Try to buy built and used.
@@CamTonerhow much would it be for used and build?
If you can get an Assembly Square, there is an Alt-Build called the Cake Bank on Rebrickable. It is a good looking representation of the Brick Bank and the theme is a bakery/pastry shop. It looks like the bank too.
I did the same, but the set was NIB. It was someone I had previously dealt with so felt like I still got a good deal (probably helped she was selling because of new baby on the way👍). I forgot the chandelier…pretty sure i knocked that off its track multiple times!
Ya! It was pretty hard to get set into place. But I can’t wait to add lights to it all eventually!
Great city update! How cost instruction of this moc on rebrickable? I don't be a big fan of license lego sets, but now i want a this micro scale lego Hogwarts castle
I think the instructions on Rebrickable are $25. Which is pretty good considering it’s a 5k piece build!
@@CamToner i think it is quiet expensive, but yes it is good deal
Great content. Just subbed!
Thanks for the sub! 😁
💪
i got stopped a baggage scan when i tried to bring on of these on a plane. they thought it was a drink
That’s awesome 😂😂😂
I want the jazz club
The Jazz Club was a really fun build!
@@CamToner yah it looks fun
I got it yesterday $70 off
@ w
I want to build one
i started 1 in March of 2024
Nice! I hope it’s going well! 😁
@@CamToneryep it is!
Such a fun trip!!!
My best tip to starting a LEGO city is: Just do it
Facts! That is the hardest part about doing most things is starting! Awesome comment!
