Thanks for the video, just everybody here! DO NOT grind HSS drills and endmills with DIAMOND wheel!!!
Am i the only person seeing this thinking "hey thats a cbn wheel, your not supposed to grind high speed steel tooling with it..." And while im thinking that im seeing what happens to surface finish on the flutes of making that choice?
EXCELLENT!!!
Can you tell me where did you get that tap holder, or you machined it yourself? Thanks!
Good video, it inspired me to make a removal tool for my new cutter/grinder. On the first attempt at using the tool I found the cutter grinder shaft hole to be full of rusty swarf. Those good old Chinese guys, they never fail to perform😂
Thanks a lot
Hello, I am from Mexico, thank you for your video, it was useful for my work
I just watched your video today, 3 years after you posted it. I really liked the effort you put into your Welding table. I've been researching building a good welding table, for home use, and have been leaning more towards using plates like what you fabricated. Good job! I'm from the USA (Wisconsin).
Just a thought on an older video. I don't know about the larger motor but the smaller motor has adjustable plates in the two ends. The movement of the plates allows you to get more or less agitation as you need. Just wondering if you tried adjusting them.
Alot going on but insufficiently explaining it all .
This guy just loves doing this all he does I bet . Prob dosnt know anything outside of his work . But amzing at what he does do and it's all he does .
10000$ in labour not including materials later
14˚ came from nowhere. Presumably it's half the difference between 90˚ and 118˚ if that's the point you want.
Nice job !!
Music👎
Welding that zinc plated steel is a recipe for getting sick.
I really love the effort 👍👍
To clarify for everyone. I bought this lathe new from Wabeco and it came with a knurled bearing seat from factory. It's also not just my lathe I have seen another video where someone replaces their lathe spindle with a camlock version and I can see that spindle also had a knurled seat.
Where can we find this video?
Waaaait... a KNURLED BEARING SEAT? Seriously??
Seems a recent thing. My 40 y/o wabeco 2400 does not have this knurling
You say to put a relief between all of the cutting edges, just curious why its necessary, is it a limitation of the D bit grinder? And do you know how the professionals would be able to achieve it?
Thank you for the superb video, I learnt everything from you, and it took me 7 months to pick the courage to start since all those angles were too much for me. You have cleared the fog .
I know this is an old post but how would I obtain the drawings mentioned. Thank you.
What Grit diamond wheel are you using?
8 hours?
Hi mate. Can you provide a link to the UA-cam channel you mentioned. I think the name sounded like “Look”?? Regards Robert
Ahaaa…. Found it in an earlier reply “Luc”. Thank you for this very good instruction video. Robert
My grinder was a paper weight until your video guide. Thank you!
Hey dear.Three years now.I hope you are doing very well.Best video of this sort.Thank you.
As already written here, very informative video. I can sharpen drill bits by hand, but it's more accurate with a machine. Thanks for the video.
Is that frame galvanized?
Could you press the bearing race in using the tailstock ram ?
Nice work I need about 12 of these for the stand I'm building to support my two hundred gallon fish tank.
10:20 Off topic but I love nature. Man is intently demonstrating knowledge. Man's dog barks; alerting the pack to a potential threat. Man stops demonstration, evaluates the threat, determines risk low, and continues demonstration. All this in less than a second. Beautiful.
*3 REQUESTS:* Make a video showing the table's flatness (testing w shims)..? Always show the complete machining of parts (use time lapse if necessary). Should've ran the parts on a surface grinder to perfection afterwards.
I've always wanted to see a universal cutter/grinder in operation. Interesting. I use a Darex which has a air bearing spindle for sharpening the flutes. Both machines pretty much do the same thing.
Hello Projects Down Under. I haven't watched your other videos yet and the answer might be there, but could I ask, are you the original owner of this lathe? Can we be sure the knurling on the spindle was done at the factory and with the knowledge of Wabeco's management? I noted in one of your replies to a comment that you've seen this knurling on another Wabeco spindle, which is quite telling but still not conclusive. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this. @devinmoodley4061 wrote in a comment that he asked Wabeco for clarification on this. Was there an answer you can share Devin? Regards, Rick.
A video with a project that didn't turn out to work as perfectly as expected is worth 10 videos that claim to have worked perfectly. I appreciate your video!
Did not understand a thing but loved the skill and art of doing something like what is shown in the videa.
10 seconds of that voice was enough for me.
HI do you sell an 1-11/16 X 1/2 SHANK or 3/4 SHANK. Or ware can i purchase that size
Super bro #luckytoolroomskills
I would say this table costed a lot more than 2 grand, if you include the cost of your one month of labor
Excellent Work Friend! 💪🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi, I see this is an old video & I'm sure you've realised by now but you've misunderstood Luc's explanation. The measurement you quote as 2.4 to 3 times the drill size is to what Luc calls the "cone intersect". The cone being the 12mm pin that goes in the collet (his not so good English) & is way different from the distance between the drill tip and the fixture, & depends on a few factors. Luc produced a .pdf of Excel tables for this which are available on a link on his video.
Wonderful attention to detail making a potentially complex process simple to understand - thank you
Thanks for sharing - very useful thank you
Wow, what an excellent job!
This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!
Unnecessary amount of precision detailing for a gd welding table.
I would be really worried if I was dreaming about welding tables.
