    The one thing you said that connected with me was, "that one person", I am working on starting my channel, for that one person. I don't want to be famous, I don't want to be wealthy, I want to share almost 60 years of my life lessons, and between my parents and grandparents, another 100 years of knowledge. I care about video quality, and the impact of the content. In my opinion, if you do what you do to help others, the money finds it's way to you, and it's deserved. If you only do what you do for money, it might find you, but you lose it quickly, and it's meaningless. Make your goal a better world when you leave then when you got here.

      For now, I’ve been able to connect with creators over on Twitter (there’s lots of creators on the platform!). I’m also part of an 11-week cohort that UA-cam invited me (and 1,000+ other creators) to which is a great opportunity to connect with other creators. My dream is more of a place where creators can make content in the same building, and connect with each other during & in-between planning/filming. But I’d recommend setting up a Twitter account if you haven’t, and looking for other creators in your niche to connect with :)

    My key takeaways are Value over views. Vision over money and Guide over Guru. There are the 3 key reasons I haven't launched my self-help YT channel esp the last one. I kept hearing coaches should build authority which made me think I need to be perfect and right but I'm just a guide. Also, I suggest an online learning space since most creators cannot meet in-person. My city has very few YTers.

    The smart play here is on youtubes part. The lower the barrier to entry, the more people will work for free to build their ad views. It's an obvious solution to a problem of margin. Google benefit far more from 100 non-monetised creators blowing up, building audience and serving ads than they would from 1 big channel sharing ad revenue. Its just a race to the bottom.

    Random comment: I started a faceless UA-cam channel couple months ago just to give it a try. I was doing crime Stories, i used Leonardo AI for images , chat gpt for prompts, eleven labs for voice over but i recorded my own and had eleven labs use my voice to read the scripts, CapCut for video edit, vidIQ to have the best titles, tags etc, i used epidemic sounds for music and fx, i did sound design and color grading. (Im a videographer so editing part was easy.) I got 395 subs and 90k views off of 16 videos in a month. I wanted to continue but the time to find unique stories, make 30 plus images to match the story was to time consuming.

    • @nathaniel_hall
      @nathaniel_hall 24 дні тому

      I use Photoshop and use the built-in remove background feature (it pops up when you drop in an image). So it removes the background behind me, I then put text behind me, and add the background back in so the text technically sits between two layers. Hopefully that makes sense! :) You can achieve the same effect for free with a mixture of tools like Adobe’s online background remover & Canva. I’m dropping a video soon about the 50+ free tools you can use through the video creation process & a chunk of it is on free thumbnail tools. You might find it useful :)

    Probably more to do with those single videos now being pushed to a wider audience based on the recommendation algo and movement away from subscribers. As you’ll see, this on that makes a big promise has done well, likely with people who are searching ‘how to get big on UA-cam’. But it hasn’t impacted the rest of your videos, so this is an outlier. What YT is doing well now, regardless of editing, is pushing out VIDEOs it thinks users will engage with and contribute good watch time to, not creators. This is likely to try and diversify its long form in the face of the shorts revolution. And that’s great, but it won’t push all of your videos, so there’s still a really tough slog ahead for smaller creators.

    • @nathaniel_hall
      @nathaniel_hall 29 днів тому

      Spot on. Though it’s definitely possible to have every video blow up. You just have to have enough outliers to know what to double-down on :) But I believe the more you grow, the easier it is to blow up a video. For example, the quicker UA-cam receives positive data from a video, and the bigger that positive data is (easier to be done with a bigger established audience) then your video will be promoted much quicker. The problem for me atm, is half of my audience are into music production/business/web design so it’s taking slower for UA-cam to receive positive feedback (that’s my theory haha). Nice to meet someone else who’s interested, or clued up, in UA-cam strategy btw!

    • @BangToWrites
      @BangToWrites 25 днів тому

      @@nathaniel_hall I hear that. It's a shame chasing the shorts market has had such an impact on long-form in many ways, but also quite exciting to see th positive impact it's had on smaller creators. I notice a lot more in my feed now, so the recommendation engine is doing a great job. The biggest move at the moment, for me at least, it the wholesale move away from followers across social media. They just, by and large, don't matter now beyond social proof. It's a weird world to be in where the platforms have spent so long driving you to chase subs, only to pull the rug out and in some cases even make them a detrimental factor in your strategy. I haven't done anything on YT for a long time, but like to keep up to date now. I actually work across a digital streaming platform currently where a lot of the principles are eerily similar. There's a lot of psychology at play, with a decent amount of luck depending on how the algorithm feels that day.

    I wish you all the best man. Amazing content. You will be at 50k subs in the next 6 months mark my words. You def deserve more than you have. My content is shite and I have 8k. But all it takes is one video that drives more subs than normal
