I really love video games, editing, and graphic design, and the best way to combine all these is to make videos. The focus of my videos is basically to just gush about games I love. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my content. Thank you.

Here are a selection of RPGs I'd want to be buried with. Basically, it's a top RPGs list with some rules: 1. The games have to be physical. 2. I have to own the game and console it is on. 3. I can only pick one game per console. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it.

There's an arcade game, The Ninja Warriors which is even wider. 3 screens across!
HI !! here are my WORLD RECORDS FOR THIS GAME : WARRIOR BLADE !! thanks for the video !!! its great !!! ua-cam.com/video/PKzMpNgX0-M/v-deo.html ( Twin Galaxies world record 1player ) ua-cam.com/video/_m4L8uag_Ec/v-deo.html ( Twin GAlaxies World record 1 player -with all secret stages-) ua-cam.com/video/Z1YGleNo-8w/v-deo.html ( Twin Galaxies world record 2players ) ua-cam.com/video/tnnqzegswA0/v-deo.html ( Twin GAlaxies World record 2 players -with all secret stages-)
Nice video, WB is definitely a gorgeous and under-recognized classic! The dual and triple screen was Taito's go-to for deluxe cabinet experiences. See also Darius and The Ninjawarriors. I think this game was actually the same overall hardware as Darius II (Sagaia in the US), which was shipped in both dual and triple monitor. It also has the branching level paths like Darius
@@JustinSevenTwo I'll check them out, and thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for bringing back these memories. I've seen a ton of these games in the 90's but never had enough time to play them (Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter to blame)
lol My pleasure, thanks for watching.
Really enjoying your game selections, discovering some new things! Fun channel, subbed
Thank you, I appreciate it 👍
I like the widescreen format. It probably cost a lot to produce these 2 player cabinets b/c of it which may explain why it was never localised for overseas audiences
So many amazing arcade games are gone and forgotten by so many
Not forgotten as long as we remember them 👍
Ok on 3:31 what arcade game is that? I’ve seen it before but it’s driving me crazy thinking about the name of that game.
Knights of Valour, basically, a beat'em up using the Three Kingdoms characters 👍
I like your style and energy. Great videos. This one in particular had me chuckling and I laughed out loud with unrestrained mutual excitement at your spazzing over the grapples. I am right there with you, brother. LOL They just don't make them like they used to.
I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍
No matter the platform, TAITO consistently had amazing s character sprite work and animation.
Kick a wizard on his ass and the wizard obliterates every enemy on the screen. Say no more! Im sold
🤣🤣🤣
*fucking
Played this with a friend once and was laughing hard on all those German audio samples "Ich lösch dich aus" (= I will annihilate you) or "Ich bin dein Gegner" (= I am your enemy). Super funny 😆
Play and review The Crystal of Kings if you haven't already
I'll add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion
Why would a game have English text but not a North American release? do they speak English anywhere else?
England? 😅
England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, South Africa, Canada, India, did I forgot one? Edit: Forgot New Zealand...
Cool video, I can wait to get the next Taito collection to play this on my Switch!
Thanks for watching 👍
Those graphics are incredible
The buff system reminds me of D&D Tower of Doom & Shadow Over Mystara
Switch is getting this and the other Rastan games on Taito Milestones 3
still a better Conan game than Conan Chop Chop
This brought back the memory of playing the original Rastan. They used to have arcade game cabinets at the front of stores, not just arcades and I would play it there.
Man, remember when it seemed every store had an arcade cabinet somewhere? I miss that shit.
The music of Rastan alone brings tears to my old tired face... I miss the old Arcades so much (even though I do have MAME its not the same as going with your buddies to the Arcade to play a game, and taking turns to watch each other play to see how far we get with 1 credit, we never used continues, we always started from the beginning). Even the old shopping malls around here are now abandoned, filled with nothing but garbage and squ att ers...
The gas station near my house when I was very young, maybe 4 or 5, had Rastan. I used to collect glass bottles from people's trash to trade in for quarters to play. The owner of the store used to put a milk crate in front of it so I could reach the controls to play.
@@joshdillon9637 That's fucking awesome
I hope Taito's Golden Axe have lovely music like Sega's. Taito sure do love wide screen arcades, they were ahead of their time for that.
Worth noting that the game will be on the forthcoming Taito collection volume 3.
If the game is still 8:3, then yes. If they compress it down to just 4:3, then no, lol. I heard when it was released as part of Taito Memories II Gekan in 2007, it was 4:3 and it did not look great.
@35infinite I think it will be in wide-screen. There is a trailer that shows you gameplay
@@Champion2D That's a relief lol
Rastan Saga III YEAHHHH 💥
Man this really does look incredible!
Last year, I picked up a Pandora's Box. I was just playing random games and to my surprise, I found Warrior Blade on it. To those of you who ever play this, make sure you setup your emulator to run it in 16:9 mode. It looks amazing on modern TV sets and is totally worth the plythrough
You weren't lying, the game really nails the "Conan" aesthetic. Shiny glistening muscles and small outfits, except for Dewey the Bully which just gets to show of his arms, I guess. Not sure why he doesn't get a crop-top at least, maybe his hair is just seen as too short so he doesn't get to be the display the other long-haired characters are. I went down a rabbit-hole investigating beat-em-ups at the time, and Capcom actually also released a fantasy-themed game involving leveling and such- King of Dragons, the same year as Rastan III released. In the years to come both Capcom and Taito would release more "level up" beat-em-ups, often fantasy themed, so I think it was just a trend at the time with people looking at how popular RPG's where and decided they should incorporate that into other games for more variety. Though most interesting of all is how the first beat-em-up with leveling I found... was the "modern urban"-themed NES game, River City Ransom. So technically those squat cartoon-thugs beat Rastan and Capcom to the leveling-punch.
Dewey just has glamor muscles, I think lol I'm enjoying my current rabbit-hole of finding arcade games I missed out on. It's such a fun time. Thanks for sharing your story and thanks for watching.
So it's a janky rip-off of Golden Axe.
Shots fired
Please, please, please, tell me the name of the game that appears in minute 0:56. I've been looking for it since the early 2000's
Zero Team, developed by Seibu
The Conan look comes from the Frank Frazetta covers to the novels. They saw Arnold and realized he was perfect.
Schwarzenegger looked the part, but... dude, give Frank Frazetta _some_ credit for the Conan aesthetic! 😂 His Conan paintings influenced the sets, the clothing, and casting Arnie in the first place.
Indeed. His artwork was phenomenal.
Very true, great point
Alien Vs Predator my dude❤
Def a classic 👍
5:23 may the force be with us lol
I didn't even bother with Emerald Beyond. I couldn't even make it through the demo because it was so damn boring. Try out Minstrel Song & Romancing SaGa 3 next. They're like a high fantasy version of Saga Frontier 1. I haven't played RS2 remake yet but I did enjoy & beat the demo several times.
Got them on my wishlist 👍
I don't really understand the complaint about the lack of consequences for running out of lp. There's clearly a consequence, you have to start a new character. In most Saga games, the character perma dies when you run out of lp & can't be replaced. Although in Minstrel Song you can revive perma-death characters through a god that you have to find which normally happens near the end of the game.
this game was probably great inspiration for D&D Tower of Doom / Shadow over Mystara games and used the Darius II twin screen hardware.
That dragon riding stage really looks inspired by the cover of the old D&D Module DL3: Dragons of Hope.
I just looked up Dragons of Hope, and it's possible, you never know.
@35infinite I mention this because there is some precedent. Compare the cover of D&D Module I6: Ravenloft to the box art for Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, and the anime Record of Lodoss War opening sequence recreates the cover of DL14: Dragons of Triumph.
@@thomriley1036 I know for a fact that Record of Lodoss War is most def inspired by D&D. I love that show.
@@35infinite I have no doubt that Capcom returned the favor when they made the official D&D arcade beat-em-ups. The Elf and Dwarf in Shadow Over Mystara bear a striking resemblance to Deedlit and Ghim.
@@thomriley1036 Shadow Over Mystara is another banger! I need to play that one again.
_Warrior Blade_ is one of those lesser-known arcade games that I love to play on MAME every once and a while. I'd like to thank that the art direction was heavily influenced by legandary sci-fi/fantasy artists and couple Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell.
Nice, I knew there was a Not-Conan one and two game, but was unaware of this third one. Looks like a beefed up Golden Axe… which I love!
That's a good way to put it 👍
Though perhaps less “whelming” than the other boss fights, it was memorable to me because, as the ghosts are shrieking out of him, the dead king continuously pleads, “Help me! Help me!”
the term youre looking for is sword & sorcery
Rastan the Barbarian might be grounds for lawsuit. So just Rastan or Warrior blade is fine.
The spritework almost looks rotoscoped and the backgrounds look to seem to look very familar. Did ed boon work on this?
it always amazes me how awesome the pixel art looks in these arcade games :)
100% agree. Pixel art never gets old to me and still impresses.
That intro made my eyes bleed. Not complaining though
I just checked to see if I have this and yep, had it for decades and never knew it existed until this video. It's like a darker grittier Golden Axe but from the Rastan universe. I'll be playing a lot of this. Thanks.
No problem, have fun and thanks for watching.
Good old MAME... Best emulator ever. 1000s of games and we keep discovering new ones everyday lol. Also the best source for my once favorite genre: Sh00t'em ups.
This game is pretty fun.
Most definitely 👍
I completely forgot Warrior Blade was a Rastan game.
Yo, the balls Taito has for putting such a gorgeous game in widescreen. Mad respect.
I agree. I need to find more widescreen games.
Taito didn't create this game to be awesome; Taito needed to create a new game to convert all the The Ninja Warriors and Darius II cabinets that stopped making money so operators can extend the life of these Taito dual screen cabinets they already bought.
In the actual arcade I think it was two 4:3 monitors pushed together to create the Widescreen look?
Blade Master is also look very good, its the creator of metal slug earlier work
I actually did a vid on Blade Master a couple of months ago. I agree, it looks great, but I def think it falls to crap in the gameplay department. Thanks for watching 👍
@@35infinite whats your take on metal slug tactic? I favor more on real time action, i would rather play an open world metal slug game, like Shakedown: Hawaii
@@tahnadana5435 I haven't played it yet, but it's on my wishlist. It looks pretty dope.
