The Loremen dig into the origins of the porcine spectre, and uncover what might be one of Britain’s earliest urban legends. If you believe the tabloid press, cities were once awash with swinish visages and hoggish fizzogs. ...

The Tunnelling Duke
Переглядів 487Місяць тому
This episode was recorded live (or at least undead) in West Norwood Cemetery, in front of a sold-out crowd. The brave lorefolk were chilled, literally and figuratively, by tales of subterranean mystery and otherworldly encounters. James told the story of an eccentric English aristocrat who took to burrowing like a badger, while Alasdair hopped aboard London’s defunct Necropolis Railway. And the...

All I can think of is Hogfather by Pratchett. I wonder that’s where he got the inspiration. Because pigs!
Christmas Pig, Icy & Loremen!
And also with you
Christmas Pig, everyone!
And also with you
I've listened to every episode of Loremen, I celebrate Christmas Pig, but even I'm not 100% sure what I'm celebrating! Merry Christmas Pig, anyway.
The traditional way
Hi Icy! Love your podcast too!
Fabulous Folklore with Icy, that is
Did I miss a Live?? An Xmas Pig Live??? Nooooo!
No Xmas pig live this year I'm afraid
First! I think...
Christmas pig, all, and pig bless us, every one.
I loooved the vice elemental concept, the slaughter house idea made me think of the magus archives Fears and the first story could’ve been a statement about the Flesh entity.
I think you should be very careful of the use of “hog” at this time of year, less you incur the wrath of the Pratchett estate
What a treat and what a delight! It's the Internet's very own Nick Mason, everyone!
Christmas Pig Lore Friends! I listened to this ep whilst wrapping some gifts and it did put me in a festive mood , thanks chaps 😊
You guys are my heroes, BEST podcast I've heard ❤❤❤
No. 400 🥳
Dogging is when you transform into a wolf
As a little piece of information the Skinker lady, with the pigs head, referred to as a name from the Netherlands, but in Danish and German, "skinke" means ham (eng), German "schinken" , as in shank bone from a pig. So maybe the Skinker lady is some leftover viking ham naming...
No worries. I'm not really a face man. Happy christmas pig to all.🐷!
Xmas Pig, One and All! 🐷🐷🐷 🎄🎄
Hog bless us, everyone
.....🐷 🤛⬜🤜 ....🦶🦶
Those hands! Swit swew!
Christmas Pig, everyone! 🐖
There was a movie called Penelope about a girl cursed to have a pig face!

Wonderful!
Alasdair and Maso is the crossover I didn't know I needed.
Big Beard Energies
Was this the birth of the naming of Christ-in-a Hole or Christina Hole? That is my favorite naming bit.
Oh my god I remember the pole going through a guy on 999! He did survive! Also, fun fact: I watched that episode at the house of the guy that played Bernard in Bernard’s Watch.
That IS a fun fact!
I had already listened to the podcast but when I saw paranormal scat I had to click and watch the video imagine my disappointment? Maybe disappointment idk what feeling it actually was when it wasn’t scat like a polterguy going number 2 or for that matter a specter doing jazz type scat.
I like that Shakeshaft has gone out and found a taller man to film him (perhaps a Greg Davis), Maso has found a shorter person to film him (perhaps a Lester Piggot) and ABK has just sat down
I swear i'm not obsossed with height, just camera angles... like what a normal person would do!
It's weird seeing Maso's voice attached to a human head and face.
Likes for the like god. Engagement for the algorithm throne.
Lived in Yorkshire and love Maso (and Mr Sunday Movies). This hits the spot. You should have taken turns pronouncing Penistone. Edit: should have watched the whole video before commenting. Double edit: Heptonstall is a great Yorkshire surname. The village of the same name is adjacent to Hebden bridge, Sylvia Plath is buried there. Ted Hughes came from just down the road in Mytholmroyd (another great Yorkshire name).
How on earth are you sposed to. Pronounce Mytholmroyd?? And what genre of hemorrhoid is that!
@Loremen if you can handle IPA: /ˈmaɪðəmrɔɪd/, if not: mai-thum-royd. It's not as counterintuitive as Slaithwaite/Slawitt
Whoah!!, ABK, Nick Mason and ghost children maypole dancing?!!.............. my eclectric youtube viewing habits have led me to gold!
It's all algo baybee!
Aye Doctor from sci fi tv show
I love Nick Mason and anyone he plugs. I'm here fornthe beards and that guy who looks like King Arthur fron The Green Knight.
I will never stop thinking Nick Mason looks dubbed somehow
It's because he doesn't have an accent so has to rerecord with added accent
😂😂@@Loremen
I am also here because of the Weekly planet! Good to see Maso, never heard this pod before but seems fun
Thanks mate! Check out the other Maso eps (and upcoming Xmas pig* episode) *It's a thing. I'm not sure it has or will ever make sense. But it's our tradition now
Here's another (can't see him tho) ua-cam.com/video/DLq9n3B2mug/v-deo.htmlsi=91M1U3ckXIXRhUQu
I'm here from the Sunday movies and I'm commenting for the algorithm!
Thanks mate!
I am doing the same thing.
@tjlanglois1989 lovely lovely algorithm
Yummy algorithm
Here me wondering if it's The Electric Monk.
A local one to me, watching from Walkley. I know there's been ghost stories on the Stockbridge bypass but it's been a while since I've heard them.
Is "It's not a catch phrase" a catch phrase? Did I just get that?
Noppera-bo!
It is!
American judges use gavels. In America we have inside funerals and outside graveside services sometime both for the same person, plus we sometimes have a wake at home with everyone so sometimes Funerals are a 3 part affair.
This may be one of the greatest videos I’ve ever seen especially the best video about baby Jesus lol.
2:13 if that guy ever see this video and the goofy way he jumped in the water he will hate the Loremen for posting that online.
0:43 Alasdair’s ADHD kicked in when he saw that bird. Lol.
2:01 also you look a bit like one of your favorite Bandidos with the mask. Is the the one ordered from the sketchy Etsy shop something with the word pu$sy in it?
😔 ye
If you showed just a photo of that contraption that made noise at the beginning of the video i definitely would’ve thought it was a sex device not just something that made noise. Lol.
I love the idea of an Australian un-St Patricking Ireland, but I don't know if Australia has any entry-level snakes.
