    Personally I find the mini (28) much more versatile. Trangia just came out (in USA) with a tiny 500 ml pot with no handle you use the pot holder, this in combination with the mini means I can boil water for coffee in the 500 ml and have soup or noodles in the mini pot frying some extras like sausage or spam for the noodles, it doesn’t come with a lid but the lid from the kettle fits. I just got it today and I’m going to start playing with it soon since I have a camping trip coming up, I might even be able to bake corn bread in it, we’ll see. I’m excited to see what I can come up with lol.

      Better without custard? Hmmm, not sure I agree. As you might have seen if you've looked around the channel, I've cooked various stews, chilli, fish and pasta on the Trangia, but Ive never done a curry. I'll put something together, but Im not sure when it'll be on video. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated.

    2 years later, just to add there's a Trangia deeper frying pan - they call it Saute pan - fits the T25 which fits at the wider higher level on the T27 if you're stir-frying. Yes makes the packed size bigger but I also saw you had a plate, so there's some other options to eat out of the final "bring it together" pan. If you're not eating out of the frying pan - I usually do eat out of it - you can put some water in it and leave the flame going to begin the process of softening foot stuck to cause easier / no washing-up. I usually have a soup base packet to make a soup drink from those release pan water dregs.

      Good tip about the water. Yes, I do clean the pan like that and I find it works great. I have just ordered a saute pan, so Im keen to see how this works with both my 25 and 27. Thanks for watching.

    Do you have Bourbon biscuits in New Zealand? Tamtams look a lot like them, I'm wondering if they're the same as the UK ones, a chocolate version of a custard cream. I didn't realise that black swans are invasive and edible! We have mute swans in Britain and they're owned by the crown, ie Charles, so I guess you'd be stealing from the king if you ate one! It looked a hearty meal. Hope you get your knee sorted soon.

    • @OAPAdventures
      @OAPAdventures 3 місяці тому

      No, we don't have Bourbon biscuits here, at least I haven't seen them. We have a Cameo Creme, which is very similar in terms of 2 x malt bikkies with a creme filling. I like a custard cream, or 2. Yep, the Black Swan is everywhere and is often hunted. I do remember seeing the white Swans when I was first in the UK and told they were the property of the Crown. If it is a total replacement you will still be able to go camping and even backpacking. I waited for ages to make my mind up and suffered pain for about ten years before I had it done. Thanks for the good video. I just ordered the micro light version with a gel burner. We also have Trangia 35 with all accessories and gas burner. It is for family use. 35 is the same as 25, but it is black. I have used the Esbit stove mod the most, which uses a Trangia alcohol burner and a gas burner. In addition, it can also burn wood. Maybe I'll get a Trangia multi fuel burner someday. We have quite a lot of Trangia products, but the 27 model is still missing and the multi fuel burner. 😄 In Finland, even the army uses Trangia. A hundred year old invention and it still works. That's quite an achievement.

    Aliens lol I mean the fact that the local iwi stopped it from being properly investigated tells you all you need to know.

      It was more the Local Council than anything.

      @Phoenixkb222 For sure. The local council stopped further investigation after consultation with local iwi.

      Sunny? Im jealous. Its mid-winter here and temps are down to 12 - 14 Deg C. A cooked brekkie is just the thing at this time of the year. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated.

      No, I havent. I didnt know there was any. I been to the old mine, but access is pretty difficult. If you know more about the locations, GPS cords etc, I'd love to find out more.

      @@seanjarvie9737 I know there are tunnels dug that the watercare pipes went through, but I thought they were backfilled after the pipes were installed. The manganese mine was at the end of Mine Rd. There was another off Ernie's Track, but I never did find it.
