- A wet, solo overnight camp at the Lower Mangatawhiri campground in the Hunua Ranges, New Zealand. There was rain at camp overnight and everything in the morning was wet. It is only autumn, so it wasnt cold, just wet.

Nice to see you out and about. Since watching your previous video of this campground, I've stayed there a couple of times. it's a nice quiet place during the week. So thanks for that.
Yes, it's a very quiet spot. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else there. Thanks for watching.
Nice to see you out and about. Looks like a great spot to camp. Hope your knee heals soon. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Its good to be out. Thanks for the good wishes.
Sorry to hear about the knee. For some reason I never realised there were camping grounds in the Huna Ranges.
There are a handful of designated places to camp and a couple of huts as well. Not as scenic as other places, but handy for me.
Fantastic to see back out camping
Thanks. Its great to finally be out again.
Great to see you out n about again.
Thanks. I'm pretty happy to be out!!!
Great to see you out. Nice camp. Cheers
Thanks. Its VERY good to be out!!
Good to see you out and about, hope that your knee is healing ok.
It looks like a nice camp site, New Zealand looks like a lovely place too.
I recommended that you could store your fold a cup inside the mini and micro Trangias in another video, but you own the big, 600 ml one, rather than the little 200 ml one, so sorry if I mislead you. The little one fits, the big definitely doesn't!
Safe camping!
Thats OK about the cup. Im starting to think its too big, anyway. I only half fill it so should probably look at buying the smaller one. Thanks for watching.
Ah glad you are ok, was wondering!! Hope the knee didn’t have a reaction from the hike. All the best.
I probably over did the knee and Im paying for it now. Ahh, well. Thanks for watching.
Approximately named channel “Occasional” 😊
Bud, I missed you and was getting close to calling to see what’s up!
Nice to see you’re out and about still, as you can see my knees are holding up 🙃
Looks like my knee is way worse than first thought. My big days in the hills might be over. I do remember some-one very knowledgeable in all matters of outdoor stuff saying that you are part pack horse, part mountain goat... 40ks in a day?? I was impressed. Happy to talk anytime, about anything.

👍👍✅ keep safe 🙏🙏❤️
Thank you. You, too.
What is the cooker that you are using
It's a Trangia 27 cookset, made in Sweden. Plenty info on line. You'll see me using it in some of my other camping videos. Thanks for watching.
Have you done any of the tunnels in the hunua ranges
No, I havent. I didnt know there was any. I been to the old mine, but access is pretty difficult. If you know more about the locations, GPS cords etc, I'd love to find out more.
@@OAPAdventures I have it marked on a old map will try and dig it out. Didn't know about the mine where is that
@@seanjarvie9737 I know there are tunnels dug that the watercare pipes went through, but I thought they were backfilled after the pipes were installed. The manganese mine was at the end of Mine Rd. There was another off Ernie's Track, but I never did find it.
Happy hobbling! I share a knee issue with you. Reaching our 60s and after thousands of miles of wear and tear I guess our poor old knees have every right to object.
Just a technical question: is it a GoPro you are using? What are you using to edit your material? Whatever combination you use the quality is excellent.
Keep up the good work! I like your laidback style of presentation.
Yep, a bad knee is not a good thing. As you say, everything comes at a price. I use a GoPro 11 and a GoPro Max for the invisible selfie style shots. Nothing fancy. Editing software is the free version of Da Vinci Resolve. Its a steep, but not difficult learning curve. I probably use about 20% of its capability. That laid back style is just me. Im always being told that Im not going to die of a heart attack!! Thanks for the compliment, and watching.
