Alice in Chains - Rooster (Layne Staley vocals only)
Here are just vocals of him, almost no extra instuments or vocals of Jerry Cantrell, but with backing vocals of Layne Staley himself.
Vocals at: 0:34, 3:20
My thanks go to the Joh Ph channels, who provided a multitrack stuff for me here!
I have no rights to the Alice in Chains music, just puplish that to show people the talent of Layne Staley he had.

Alice in Chains - Would? (Layne Staley vocals only)
Переглядів 7 тис.5 років тому
Subtitles available in both Russian and English. Yes, there were some videos like that, but they either did not include backing Staley's vocals, or contained extras like rhythm guitar. Here it's just all vocals Staley sang for "Would?" Vocals: 0:13, 0:40, 0:50, 1:36, 1:46, 2:22 NOTE: At 1:36, Cantrell and Staley sing slightly different words: Cantrell on lead - "sole desertion", but Staley inst...
Alice in Chains - Rooster (Jerry Cantrell only)

Guitar backing vocals, this time just "Here they come to snuff the rooster" and "Yeah here comes the rooster". For me it was pretty much unusual to hear him here without Layne Staley. Sounds so differently... Vocals: 1:55, 3:20 and 4:59. Unfortunately, due to the particular way I went to exclude lead vocals of Layne Staley (removed center-panned vocals), Jerry Cantrell is panned only left and r...
Alice in Chains - Heaven Beside You (Jerry Cantrell only)

Basically guitar vocal tracks, but with excluded Layne's backing vocals. Only in the 3rd chorus has some. I don't have rights for the song and only publish it to show Jerry Cantrell's power of creating songs. Thanks Joe Ph channel for giving me those tracks!
Rufus and Chaka Khan - Tell Me Something Good (clavinet, guitar and talkbox)
Переглядів 1,5 тис.5 років тому
Starts from 0:02 Ron Stockert played wah-wah clavinet (main riff) and un-effects harmony guitar fills on a stereo Gibson ES-345. Al Ciner played talkbox and effects guitar licks. That track was Guitar Hero rip. I have no rights for that music piece and only publish that for education purposes, like, to tell newcomers into Rufus how great they were.
Rufus with Chaka Khan - Tell Me Something Good (bass only)

Starts from 0:10 Dennis Belfield was on bass guitar. Rare case is - it's actually stereo, not mono! That track was Guitar Hero rip. I have no rights for that music piece and only publish that for education purposes, like, to tell newcomers into Rufus how great they were.

Alice in Chains - A Looking In View (William DuWall only)
Переглядів 6515 років тому
Guitar and vocals by William DuWall. In some places he may be really quite, but it's the original mix, I did not make him more quite than he was. Also it's because in many songs from "Black Gives the Way to Blue" he is lower than Cantrell. I have no copy rights for that stuff and only publish it for education purpose.

The arrangement and composition of this song is absolutely masterful. I feel like the lyrics are even clumsily matched together if you look at them line by line but when you take the song as a whole it's unbelievably powerful. When I notice things like awkward or seemingly off the wall lyrical choices it actually makes me happy because I see the human imperfection; it's the struggle to communicate things that are felt so deeply and the desperate reach for the right words but the writer comes up short because the reality is too much to fit into a song and all they can do is give a painfully brief glimpse of the true story.

If you ever wonder why no one covers Huey, you just heard it. That tone and level is quite possibly no where else to be found. And even if it is, there is a decent chance the person that can do it, can't sustain it. This man deserves far more respect and recognition!

It's kind of ironical with this song that eventually correlated to his unequivocal death.. The Rooster was his internal enemy (heroin) inside that did finally sentence Haley to eternal shuteye unfortunately..

Love how they managed to fit the acoustic bits into the song. Really lays out the thematic feel of the album in a way cuz in every song in BGWTB has an acoustic guitar in it.
