Can you find COMMUNITY on the road? (Full-time RV Living)
OMG. YOU HELPED ME OUT. SORRY YOU GOT JAMMED.
This is the video I have been looking for !!
That area is perfectly safe. Before AZ legalized marijuana, there was a road west of where you guys were at that was used to regularly transport loads of marijuana north. The crime was mainly caused by people from Phoenix going down there to rob the migrants (rip crews). There are several unsolved migrant murders that were the result of the rip crews, but these events were isolated and the area has been quiet since 2015 when legal marijuana became widely available in AZ. The media sensationalized the crime because it was related to immigration and there are many inconsistencies in the reporting you cite on this video (the KGUN article says the population of Vekol Valley is 40,000 when in reality there’s about 10 people who live in the area, including myself)
Great video! We plan on visiting early October, what time of day did you go down East Portal Road, early AM? Do you know if that road is open 24x7? Thank you in advance
I believe the East Portal Road is primarily closed once snow starts coming, but I don't remember if it closes at all during the day/night before then. I don't remember the exact time we drove it, but I believe late morning. That drive did not depend on the light quite as much as other sites do like Painted Wall or the Sunset Point
We are headed here soon and appreciate the must dos! Fur baby and baby boy are so sweet!
You'll love it! It's a really cool park, but you definitely need to time it to get the right lighting to really enjoy the canyon walls. It just feels dull in the middle of the day for some of the canyons. Are you staying in the campground? We did a quick campground review as well so you can see what the spots look like. Hope you have an amazing time and thank you for watching!
Wow!!! Congrats. So much room for you guys. Pantry’s are important. Enjoy!
Thank you! Pantries are especially important if you need to hide a trash can from a toddler or dogs 🤣 Though Aiden is now at the age he’s super helpful throwing stuff away and he isn’t “trying to get into it”
....Speechless!!
I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing? 🤔 But thank you for watching and commenting! 🤣
Thank you. Your rig is awesome. 👋🙂
Thank you for watching and commenting! We are certainly excited about the new rig 😁
Great! Now we need to find our next rv when we get back from Quebec.
Looking for RV’s is ALWAYS a fun adventure 😁
OUTSTANDING!! 🎉❤🎉
Thank you, sir!
We are really excited about the new rig. It's going to give you so much more space. Not to mention Aiden's going to have a dedicated spot to himself. Loved the bloopers at the end. Wander On- Kyle and Michelle
Aiden gets the biggest room in the house 🤣
Why do two people need so much room? I don't get it.
We have a son and planning for more, plus two dogs now. We bought this more with the intent of expanding.
Congrats on the new rig! The moths had me laughing (sorry...know it really wasn't funny to you but it was to us who watch!)
Don’t worry, at a certain point, it was pretty humorous for us too! I’ve never seen so many in one place before and it was HOT inside the RV that day so I was breaking a sweat trying to get rid of them all
Very excited to see your new adventures in the new rig!
Only a few weeks away from our first trip!
Congratulations!!! You’re going to love all the extra room. I bet Aiden is excited too. Can’t wait to see a tour.
Planning to film that up at Sturgis in a few weeks, so hopefully get that out sometime next month 😁 We’ll also be hinting at our newest venture in the tour video…
@@theaustinstravel looking forward to it
Good job guys! It was fun to watch
Thanks Ferosh! Hope you tune in for the reveal this evening 😁
You are going to get that 2x one 😀😀
Let us know which rig you think we should go with and tune in next episode to find out what we choose!
For the past several months I have been watching videos of many people experiencing structural problems with RVs manufactured from 2020 to 2024. These problems tend to crop up on a newer model a bit after the 1 year warranty has expired. Most problems stem from defective or problematic engineering on the frames and slideouts. Also of note, it seems there have been many complaints in regard to customers who bought an RV from Camping World. This dealership will bend over backwards to tell you anything in order to make a sale. Once you take ownership of the RV you are basically on your own as Camping World will leave you in the lurch if repairs are needed. Camping World is all about making money and after sales service is a pipe dream.
Unfortunately we aware of that - we had issues with our 22 Prowler and Camping World in Co Springs just left it sitting on their lot until we had to pick it up to leave town unrepaired. Thankfully Camping World in Tucson straightened us out. Given it’s like driving your vehicle through a hurricane every time you drive it, they will always have issues, but things have certainly gotten worse since the COVID boom in manufacturing.
Wishing you guys all the best on whichever rig you purchase.
Thank you! Hope to film and reveal that very soon 😁
I vote the View from wildwood.. it functions as a couples coach as the bunks are hidden and a bunkhouse when the kids are present..... but if budget is a strict restraint then the remodeled outback... the 2016 just looks soo outdated..
Yeah, we overall like the functionality of the Outback, but when you spend most of the year in it, it’s nice to have lighter, brighter colors. The View is definitely a really cool rig! Can’t wait to reveal what we ended up purchasing!
Fun video and good take on the concept.
Thank you! We had a lot of fun making it and it lets me exercise my creative side after starting at spreadsheets all day 😁
The format of this video was very clever! I can't wait to find out what you end up getting.
Thank you! We wanted to have fun with it and liked how it turned out! We are hoping to grab the RV out of storage this weekend to film the reveal video, so hopefully we’ll have that out in the next few weeks 😁
No matter what RV you get, you WILL find things you don't like about it once you start using it. As much as possible, learn to live with and/or mitigate them and you will enjoy it more. Also, gotta love those two-foot drive cars, except in the snow.
💯 We just wanted to have a fun and creative episode since we wanted to upgrade to something new. We like the one we choose 😁
Great video...I would go with Rig 2. 2016 is not that old and there was some great space (other than the bathroom but I am a guy so don't need much bathroom space, lol). Plus it is in budget which is a big upside in my opinion! Double your budget on the Wildwood just seems way too much. My grandson loves Hal's videos too....great for that age group!
Rig 2 is a really good option! It starts to get really hard after looking at sooo many options!
great episode!
Thanks for watching!
Great video! I loved the walk thru's of the rv's. I think you should get an RV with a bigger bathroom for sure! Although, the Outback with the doublewide bunk room was pretty amazing!
Yes, that really is an awesome bunkhouse for Aiden! But the bathroom is really small… decisions… 😁
Really really good, you guys! Loved it!!
Thanks Greg! Hope to see you guys soon!
👍🏻👍🏻
Loved this episode, really enjoyed seeing all the different floorplans and that Wildwood with the hidden room was great. Of course when I see you looking at Outbacks our heart flutters as we could be Outback Brothers..... Can't wait to see what you pick- Kyle
So I take it you vote for rig #2 or #3!? 😁
Hello, recently I visited your UA-cam channel. There I saw your channel created date on May 21, 2022. your video is amazing! overall your content is good but your channel growth is very bad. video views and video engagement are not enough. I researched your channel and I saw your channel lacks SEO. For example, your videos do not have SEO optimization, Your video title, description, keyword, video tags, channel tags, and video thumbnail image do not have SEO-friendly optimization. when your video has SEO optimization then you will get a lot of video views. Video SEO is very necessary to improve your channel. I can help you if you want. If you give me a chance then I will do your 2 videos SEO optimization which is free. then you can get results. then work together and take your channel far ahead of your competitors. Hope we get a chance to work together. Have a nice day. Thank you!
As usual, outstanding! Thoroughly enjoyed this one!!! 👏👍‼️
Thanks Greg!
So sorry the homestead plan didn't plan out right now, but excited that you will be back on the road again. PS Aiden's the best singer in the family,!!!
Yes, we’ll see you in a few short months and we’ll eventually settle down to homestead!
Can't believe how big that young kid is getting! Good job driving in rain AND with tractor trailers. Great savings on fuel using your card. Moooooo! lol!
Yes, he’s growing up WAAAY to fast! (Though if he’d learn to start wiping his own butt that would be ok too 🤣)
I wanted to comment on your Colorado video but comments were turned off. You mentioned it would be a good place to homestead. If you are really serious about Colorado make sure you look into all the laws with homesteading there. I have seen some recent videos were small farms were being shut down because they weren't allowed to use the water for their farms unless they spent a lifetime of money. Not a very homestead friendly state.
Which video has them shut off? UA-cam keeps doing that on its own. Yes, as much as we love Colorado, it is NOT a good state for homesteading. We likely will end up out in West Virginia, but we’re still exploring.
I absolutely loved it when Lauren said 'get one of our own' when asked what you should do now that you've arrived at the homestead.
Foreshadowing for a future episode perhaps!? 🤔 😁 Hope you enjoy your time at your sister's!!! See you guys soon!
We loved going along with you guys on this trip. We are getting ready to embark on our own, but have replaced the toddler with four cats. 8) Boondockers welcome and Harvest Host is a great program, so glad you guys are finding it as helpful as well. Love Love Love the blooper section and your nephew is so right.. that serial killer mullet you had was the WORST.. So glad your amazing wife and friends convinced you to cut if off... Miss you guys- Kyle and Michelle
Safe travels this week! You can always pivot and head through Colorado Springs 😁
yay for Season 3!!!!
You must be one of the gluttons for punishment watching all our episodes! 🤣 Hope the ATL is treating you well!
Angie & I have 4 daughters. In 2000 we took a 10 day road trip to Mt. Rushmore. Oldest (Amber) was 12, Erika was 9, Kristi was 7, Shaylie was 3. Pulling a 22 foot TT in our 96 Dodge extended cab. 2500. Great memories...the fights, the bickering, the girl drama. Took me hours to clean all the mushed fruit leather out of the seats when we got home. 😁
One toddler seems like a cake walk compared to that! Thanks for sharing!
We are excited about season 3.... Great idea for those who have diesel TSD/Open Road is a great program, still hoping one day they will have an option for us gassers. Loved seeing those photos from when you first hit the road, Aiden has grown so much.
That's my favorite part of UA-cam - a chance to look back on those memories ! We get so used to seeing him in the now and it's easy to forget what he looked like when we was really young!
🎉❤😊
Glad you enjoyed it 🥳
Haha Sagan tried a 1 penny horse at a Meijer grocery store around that age and was NOT happy about it either. He still doesn't like anything that's animatronic really... neither do I. Brings back bad memories of Teddy Ruxbin from my childhood 😂
He seemed so eager right up until it moved lol. He loves his bouncy horse where he can “buck” himself off of it, but I guess he likes that he controls the motion
this video stressed me out. great content! drive safe ya'll!
Imagine living it! lol Thanks for watching!
Prepping to leave takes a lot of time for sure! I take care of inside stuff too! Its just better if the boys take care of the outside stuff. 😅
Seems to be the way most RV’ers handle it - I guess because you want the men to handle dumping the tanks 🤣
Have you been RV'ing? How does this prep experience mirror your expectations?
#dontbeashaun..... So excited that you guys are publishing videos again.
I'm not sure whether to Thumbs Up or Block that comment based on the Hash tag 😜
Toss some moth balls under your rig❤😂🎉
That was awesome and heart warming too!
I'm surprised the totes held up to the weight. Bad Mice! I friended you also. Safe travels.
It was just an experiment (a bad experiment) and they definitely were not sturdy enough! I quickly replaced them. We’ve never parked anywhere that unlevel.
Mice and rodents can be a BIG problem. Been there.... I've tried peppermint oil and all sorts of ideas to no avail. Great views of Colorado!
