Aw man. You got me sad at 1:40 . I remember buying pikmin as a teen. Didn't realise how long ago it was or how old I've got

Before Pikmin 4, Pikmin 2 was always my favorite of the original trilogy, despite the apparently more comment perception that it's the "weakest" of the original trilogy. Even more baffling to me were the amount of Pikmin fans that apparently hated the caves, which were by far my favorite aspect of the game. Regardless of what everyone else says, I think Pikmin 2 is a great game. Not sure if I can say it's better than the first Pikmin, though, the first Pikmin felt really unique in ways that none of the other games really captured. At the very least, I enjoy playing Pikmin 2 more, even though I love all the Pikmin games (except maybe the 3DS one).

I find Big to be fine as he is because his slow speed and low-stakes gameplay show that he's a civilian utterly unfamiliar with the kind of lifestyle Sonic and heroes like him live. His lack of abilities also plays into how daunting his task of saving Froggy from one of Eggman's plans is, which made me feel for him and Froggy and was appropriate for what an untrained civilian should be capable of on such a big adventure. Tails' gameplay may have been capable of focusing just on platforming, but that would require making stages only he ever goes through, which would clash with how every other stage is designed in Adventure; I could also see constantly starting and stopping his flight for Rayman levels of precision getting irritating rather than fun, whereas the racing stages play into his character arc of no longer following Sonic in life and forging his own path.

I like to compare this game to early episodes of Spongebob. Sure, it was made for kids, but the aesthetic made it sure that it could be enjoyed by all audiences. The music, the art style, the difficulty, it could all be appreciated when you’re older. But the sequels, like post movie Spongebob, were made specifically for kids in mind. Not to say they’re necessarily horrible, but you can tell that these games are very very kid friendly and lost its touch.

Gen 1 is the only gen that really matters in Pokemon.

Man I just finished the game on NES and then again on the SNES remake. I liked it and all but I don't think it's THAT good.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. SMW is the better game, but SMB3 is the better Mario game.

3rd is the last generation where Pokemon looked classic

I think what made this good was it's era. A bunch of good things came within the decade Perfect Dark came out. Terminator 2 came out within the decade, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, Kill Bill and a bunch of others. The game was a mood of corporate conspiratorial ambiance and ambition.

The only thing I felt this game was lacking was environmental variety. Super Mario world had a very similar aesthetic throughout most of the levels. Compared to super Mario brothers 3 which had tons of variety in the 8 worlds.

This game is an absolute misunderstood classic. It was really ahead of its time.

Perfect Dark had the exact opposite type of production modern day AAA games do. Devs were actually listened to and added their ideas to the game. No unrealistic release date either.

This beeing a pioneering game I find it very impressive and blew me away as child aswell. Knowing what a know now in technical difficulties, design. I have so much more respect for this game.

Well, it took me about 45 hours, but I finally beat "Dragon Quest III" today! It's definitely my favorite of the Erdrick Trilogy and its overworld (light) and underworld (dark) settings pretty much inspired the story of "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past."

Just picked it up for $35. I slept on this game as a kid. It kinda reminds me of Tom Clancy’s : End War on the PSP Specifically 😂

Honestly saying gen 2 is just so simple and humble. The atmosphere and general tone of the game is so accessible. The music in this game is unrivaled on nostalgic it makes me a person feel not even gen 1 can compete. I played gen 1 after 3. Then played gen 2

Great video. Around 2002 I used to bring my GBA to the hospital to visit my grandpa and I'd play AW and it really helped me get my mind off things. To this day I'm blown away by how deep it is and it baffles me that it's not a bigger franchise.

Perfect Dark nailed it. Game had everything, plus had an unmatched soundtrack. Cannot wait for the new Reboot. Seeing what they can achieve without the hardware limitations.

Perfect in every sense as far as early RPG goes. Design, music, character progression, story, level progression in par with difficulty progression, enemies, equipment, items, classes, every single aspect of this game approaches perfection for me.

I loved DQ1 on the nes, played it probably 20 times back i have no clue why i never picked up 2 or 3 back then. Maybe i just never heard of them or something. I did play 4-9 once i got a 3ds like 5 years ago. I’ll be picking up the HD remake when it comes out eventually. 2 and 3 are the only once i never played

I remember when this first came out and EVERYBODY was crazy for it. I recall seeing a guy in his 70's playing it at the SNES kiosk at Sears. We were all just blown away by it.

While Hoverbat's version is fantastic, it's not a true protrayal of what the NES could have done with Zelda II since it was not bound by NES hardware and limitations. For a better look at what ZII itself could have been, play Amida's Curse, which is a romhack of the game and uses the NES hardware.

i played this game religiously as a kid with my friends... revisiting it on the switch is a rough experience even though i have an n64 controller for switch. remember how turok 64 always felt weird compared to goldeneye? well thats how goldeneye feels now, its turok, even messing with the controls to make it two stick, doesnt feel great. but this led the way.

I just love so much how this video is not "Why Partners in time is the black sheep of the saga" again, but "Why Partners on time is Amazing as a game itself"

I respect this title for the revolutionary Masterpiece it was but as a kid I never truly enjoyed it. Jumping felt weird, textures were plain and Worlds felt empty/lifeless compared to Zelda OoT or Banjo or even DK64.
