To be honest, those mini banging games in the game doesn't count at all. Those are not canon and only for the red orbs you gain for upgrading your status. The canon Kratos wouldn't do any of it. That's why you allowed to walk away from them. I don't think a married man with child who lost everything including his family and has a miserable life would do any of that useless things. Kratos was always an stoic and lone warrior, even when his family were alive. He also said in Valhalla DLC that he didn't give the attention his wife Lysandra deserves.

I've always imagined in the context of Christianity that it might be closer to a mix of modern Abrahamic faiths and the Canaanite pantheon from which the Christian God (Yahweh) originates. Yahweh is the lone ruler of the realm of Israel but may reside in the greater realm of the Levant, possibly under the reign of the father of gods, El. Either that or Yahweh is El since the distinction between the two blurred as Judaism grew. Eventually, the rest of the pantheon fell into obscurity or were relegated to demons/lesser or false gods in the Abrahamic faiths. I would love to see them explore that pantheon, especially since many people are entirely ignorant of how the Abrahamic God came to exist. However, I think I'd love more to see them explore the pantheons of Polynesia and see how they weave together these countless interpretations of figures like Tāne, Tū, Taŋaloa, Loŋo, Māui, Tuna, or Sina, as well as show off individuals unique to certain cultures (like Pele, Makemake, Tāwhirimātea, or Mafuiʻe.)

the gods by nature are arrogant and egotistical so they think there the most important god or only god this what they tell their people within their region. these are lower case g gods but ther must be beyond a big G god or hierarchies of gods another explanation of lower case g gods is the personification of elemental forces / archetypes of the psyche with a being to represent that elemental force such as lightening thor or unyielding quest for knowledge or the art of war which would represent a part of the psyche. And humanity is a reflection of the gods gods as well as earth itself.

Perhaps I wasn't the intended audience, but the God of War series brought me out of my edgy phase. I loved the first game from the day it came out. For the second entry I was in awe at the level of sophistication videogames had reached, and yet there was something missing. I knew the story was a tragedy, I knew Kratos was suffering, I just couldn't empathize at all with Kratos. The third game I never finished it.

Imagine you changed day/night in Vanaheim, and that actually affected all of earth too. Kratos sees that one log that "blocks" his boat. He could easily row through that gap on the side, but there's an invisible wall there. So he changes day and night so a vine pulls that up for... reasons. Or those wooden fence things in Vanaheim that he could easily climb over or climb around, but you have to change day and night so they disappear... And every single time he does that, the entire planet just gets WRECKED. The temperature goes nuts. The vegetation freaks out and dies off. Trillions of animals die. Everybody on earth panics. Entire ecosystems get ravaged. Because Kratos had to get around a mildly inconvenient barrier. But hey, at least he didn't plunge the entire planet into eternal darkness and an ice age, just because he couldn't stop himself from killing one more god.
