Oh boy! It’s about that time of year! Guys get laid off and go back home and I’m in the shop all winter! Going over all 100+ machines. Using the FAST acronym as a starting point. I just purchased an EDT 9 and plan to get down to the nitty gritty. Trying to keep our stuff out of the shop because it’s always a minimum of 2 weeks. I’d like to fix machines on the sides, eventually! Subbed!

You may want to check your chain oiler because that bar sounds dry.

I tried rebuilding my original Stihl MS211 carburetor but I must have done something wrong. Even though it seems pretty simple. And I am pretty handy. Anyway -- I then bought an aftermarket carburetor for $20, installed it, and it ran fine BUT I could NOT get the high, low, idle screws to stay put. Just poor tolerances I guess. The settings kept drifting around. I ended up having to get the dealer to install a genuine Stihl one which cost $52. SO - guys - please be aware of this when you choose an aftermarket carburetor. Try to get one that others report are of good quality. Thanks for the video. No dumb introduction, no music. I do wish you were a bit slower, and closer, and more clear on where some of the parts go. I could follow you, but then again I have taken one of these apart before. Good that you told people to watch their eyes with the cleaner!!!!!!

Also got a used 291 with some melting for $250. Replaced needle bearings. Cut a cord. Now start up nice, idles fast. Give gas and it dies. Would love advice or nice video on carb adjustment. New fuel, new spark plug.

I only use borrowed break cleaner, that's why my cans last years 😂

I love the 291 and actually stacks up to the 261. Even the 271 is a good wood saw.

Brake cleaner is sure way to kill any non-metal parts of the carb. Need to use carb cleaner.

Backwards or weak clutch

Husqvarna ain’t too good of a saw

in my past experience its carbon build up in the exhaust and seeing just one nut on the clutch guard chain tighter i am also thinking about 40 cc or less so it cn not labor . If not then a carburetor issue . I had a 240 husky acted just like that and it ended up plugged exhaust

New bar chain and a clutch and sprocket will make it a new saw

My MS211 was leaking and thanks to your EXCELLENT video guiding me, a new feed line was installed and the leak disappeared. I appreciated your struggles with the handle removal but your successful removal actually revealed how the chainsaw was assembled. Thanks so much for the clear descriptions and clear video. It really helped!

Yes that is a original gas line

Is it oak tree? Seams to be a real hard wood. Is it dry wood or fresh oak. Dry wood is harder to cut and the chain gets hotter. Let your Stihl tune by a Profi. A bit more rpm are fine. Sharpen your chain to a razor like cut. Take off a bit of the depth limiter so the saw will pull onto the wood. New chains are not perfectly sharp.

I bought an Amazon motor for my MS 180. 5 minutes after I started it, the piston bearing sprinkled its needle bearings into the sump, cracked it wide open, and sent the shrapnel up the transfers into the chamber and exhaust! Quite spectacular! It is now out and on its way back to Amazon! 😂
