Brilliant video series on the 250. Clear video and instructions assisted me rebuild a scrapped saw, had disintegrated the main clutch side crank bearing. New cylinder, piston, rings, main bearings, seals, fuel and oil hoses. I concur with commenter about using a string to pull the main rubber boot thru the orange plastic hole. Easy method. Thanks again.
the Stihl workshop/service manual advises to use a 15cm/6" string around the back of the flange on the intake manifold to pull it through the hole in the hole in the handle housing.. Worked like a charm and probably a lot safer the using a screwdriver 😀
I don't ever leave comments but this is one excelent video. Thanks. What is a good aftermarket rebuild kit to buy. What are some fair tools to buy for inspection process. Retired going to get into small eng. Repair, my 1st rebuild is going to be a ms 250. Thanks
First Watching your video. From all the way in Jamaica, my name is Ian grant That piece that I saw you're putting on is called Intake manifold, Very easy Damage so you act very careful
I have the same saw. Thanks for the help. Its a brand new saw but i threw a branch and it hit the saw and cracked the tank, so i had to replace the whole thing. Since you helped me do so, ive noticed that the saw is pissing oil all over wuere the bar goes. Brand new gas tank and oil pump. I definitively had it clocked to the right orientation like you did here..... any help would be awesome.
Keep in mind you want that bad boy to be oiling. I'd just double check that the chain is getting oil. If its not you might need to clean out the bar grove or oil hole that's in the bar. You could always pull the cover and bar off and take a look at where it might be from. Weather its from the oiler hole on the saw or if there is a leak in another spot
First time I have found a video where I can actually see what is being done on the assembly. Thanks so much!
Glad I can help
