I think the idea is really similar to scavengers reign, where a robot which is supposed to help someone (there are multiple different people in the series) breaks down and the alien life fixes him, and eventually the robot takes care of all the species living inside and around it.

Haven't you guys realized that Vontra isn't actually the villain? Here's why: We know that Vontra is a robot and robots don't have their own ideas but function by their programming. So Vontra was made by UD (Universal Dynamics) and was programmed to do the things she did, whom most were evil, like blowing the dead guard robots and not letting Roz go, and who do we know programs robots?? HUMANS!! We humans are the villains of The Wild Robot, the ones who abuse the environment, and the ones who programmed these robots for their atrocities, like in the wild robot for example: scene when the armed robots start killing geese that just came in the farm instead of shoo'ing them. But those who say or claim that: "what about roz? she has hero own mind and isnt acting by programming!!" well if you realized, at first, she comes to island acting by her programming, but then gets used to the environment, and learns things that werent in her programming, like emotions and parenting, and then added this to her original programming and then had ideas that werent in the animals mind like telling them to make a truce. I came across this Disney movie not long ago and yeah its the best movie I'd ever seen. The wild robot it's somehow nostalgic and it reminds me something and i like the brightbill voice when as a baby.

Ok Peter brown was the one who created the amazing story in wild robot but why is dreamwork getting credit you ask… It’s because they did ent make the movie worse like many others and the animation is so hard

I saw it in 6th grade and was going through some serious stuff, and WALKED IN on this after getting back to class late. Had no context about what was going on or why we were watching this thing... messed me up for at least a day or two. Still don't like thinking about it too much. If you wanna go down the rabbit hole of creepy in-school PSAs for kids, there's one I vaguely remember from early elementary school. It was pretty standard-fare "don't get in the van & don't let people touch you below the waist" stuff; I personally didn't find it too unsettling, but iirc it shook a few kids up. Only part I remember is something about a kid getting piano lessons from a guy that turned out to be a creep.

Thank you so much for making a video about this. I had tried before to search for it to no avail. I saw this over 20 years ago in public school on a VHS tape. I lived through years of people offering me drugs, especially in my teens and 20s, and I never took the offer. Part of my mind would always remember the metaphor in the story.

As much as I am not a fan of sequels of movies I like in case producers butcher the plot, I cannot WAIT for the next Wild Robot. This is because there are three books in the Wild Robot series (read them all. 2 is good as well, but 3 isn't as much of a banger). A sequel would be welcome because there is source material that Dreamworks seems to be good at following. It doesn't feel like it's been shoehorned in or pulled out of thin air.
