This NEIGHBOURHOOD in HONG KONG is one of the COOLEST in the world | Kowloon City
Timeout’s annual rank has named Kowloon City as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world! It’s my second favorite after Tsim Sha Tsui. Kowloon city has a large Thai community so it’s a great place to get Thai food, Thai products and Thai massages. It is also the area where the Kowloon Walled City used to be, which was a large conglomerate of buildings that were residential and commercial. It was filled with lots of regular daily activities laced with illegal businesses and it was demolished in 1994 and a park was built to recognize the history behind it. Also, Recently there has been a lot of new coffee shops popping up. Lets explore!

What I SPEND on a typical SATURDAY in Hong Kong | Living in Hong Kong
Переглядів 4424 місяці тому
Hong Kong is an expensive city, it’s not a surprise. So how much do I usually spend on a typical boring Saturday. Well.. it seems to be HKD 486.7 or USD 62. With that, I took the train to Shum Shui Po for a one hour massage, had lunch, durian ice cream, lemon tea and got take out for dinner. So nothing fancy, like the hundreds I would spend if I went out for a nice lunch or dinner with friends....

Guess what? Costco just opened up in Shenzhen, making it the first Costco in Southern China. There are 5 other costcos in China, but they are all located closer to the Shanghai area. Yes. I've gone to Mexico and my Costco card worked for me. It's likely the membership will work in any country. I've heard of people getting their Costco membership in Mexico and it's cheaper that the US price but the card still works in the US. I like that Costco does make adjustments to their stores as to which products to bring in. Even within the state.

    I think the escalators in the wet markets or food centres are for the elderly, who usually shop here to buy provisions because their walking speed is quite slow, so actually for their safety. Compared with the MTR stations, everyone grabs time and speeds up. That is the living style of Hong Kong.

    Come to Europe, then you will see what is expensive. Basically, saying Hong Kong is expensive is wrong in my opinion. The only thing that is more expensive is property, meaning living space, and car fuel. Everything else is cheaper, or in worst case same price. When you can take a ride from North Territories to for example Central for some 32HKD, that's cheap, so there is no real need for a car.

    • @JessBeyondHorizon
      @JessBeyondHorizon 4 місяці тому

      True but then if you buy a car it's also 100% tax. And no way would a taxi from New territories to central be 32 hkd... It's like 100 hkd from central to eastern... But still cheap compared to north America
