How to Stop the infamous wheel arch rust on 94-01 Dodge Ram Truck Beds
nice job captain
Much appreciated!
Do not use aftermarket metal or aluminum impeller waterpumps on a cummins. When they fail they will destroy and put grooves in the block creating a gap between the impeller and backing plate on the block causing water to not get pumped through. The oem use carbon graphite plastic that doesnt groove the block when the bearings fail and never corrodes or rust away like aluminum or steel impellers. Waterpumps are cheaper than engine blocks is what I tell my customers when they ask and the oem always out last aftermarket. When you buy a new vehicle even the brake pads last years and once they are replaced your replacing them every other or every year
Great info. Thank you for sharing!
Dear viewer: To add a note regarding the stock pan bolts. The 19'+ pan gasket is thick, and the bolts don't have as much thread engagement as they did with RTV. This was another reason why I torqued to 95-inch pounds instead of 105-inch pounds. Goodluck!
Dear viewer: If buying this dipstick (or using the factory dipstick), I recommend measuring it against the factory dipstick that you removed/ cutting a small bit off. Why? - there have been cases where the factory dipstick rubs against the inside of the pan that eventually causes it to leak through. I cut off a small bit on mine. Goodluck.
Dear viewer, be sure to watch the update to this video here: ua-cam.com/video/-VlOoE9kTEw/v-deo.html
Great video, as I installed the bostech waterpump on my 2012 yesterday 09/15/2024. Part #WP03302. Much better pump. Your video made me to decide. Lets see what this puppy does.
Much appreciated. It's really not the greatest video. I made a follow up video to this one that you should check out. In summary, the seal that Bostech provided failed me after some time. Not sure if they improved the design of it ever since but I ended up installing a pump from Bullet Proof Diesel that came with a much better seal. The Bostech pump was still working just fine. Perhaps a good combination would be the Bostech pump with an OE Cummins water pump seal. Hope all goes well for you!
ua-cam.com/video/-VlOoE9kTEw/v-deo.html
@@AES5967 Well we see how it does. I lubed the seal with tranny fluid during installation. I have a good seal as of now. Got up to operating temperature yesterday and no leaks. I will monitor the weep hole as its easy to see. Love the design of weep hole location. As again get video.
@@AES5967 Thanks for the info. We continue to monitor.
The tube on mine is busted I was wondering if this is why I have no exhaust brakes
Most likely!
What did you use to clean it?????
@@robertsimpson7113 it's been a minute but I use an electronic cleaner from CRC that's safe on plastic and safe on delicate sensors.
I service my EGR and the EGR cooler every time b4 I go on a long trip when i pull my travel trailer. I bought an extra EGR valve and Cooler off E bay clean them and vacuum seal them so when i service my EGR system i can pull /replace at the same time and then clean the ones i removed and make ready for the next service. 😊 Have a BLESSED day and safe travels 🙏
Excellent practice! Thank you for sharing! Stay well
If the truck is tuned and deleted will it have this sensor? I don’t so this sensor on my truck it’s a 2016
Excellent question, I've been wondering about that myself. I do believe that it's removed in that process but I'm not 100% positive.

hate to tell you but thats not a map sensor thats a temp sensor map is on top back of the head
Someone previously reached out to me in such regards. Do you have any sort of a diagram or official Cummins sensor overview whitepaper you can provide me with? I want to be as accurate as possible. Thanks
@@AES5967 when I get a chance I'll shot you a photo on the location
thats not your MAP sensor... it is your barometric pressure sensor. i wasted all day going to parts stores telling them that my MAP sensor was different. turns out that they were right. wasted 4 hours driving around because people on the internet are calling it the wrong name
Interesting. Do you have any sort of Cummins whitepaper or diagram that clarifies this? I'd like to remain as true as possible with my content.
@@AES5967 ok well i have an update. it is a Tmap sensor. it does barometric pressure and Intake Air Temp. i finally figured out one of my issues reading -40 degrees and it was that the shop did not plug in my IAT sensor extender all of the way. but not the IAT an the air box, it was the one on the plate by the heater grid. these trucks are confusing as hell. so many sensors and almost everybody calls them by a different name.
@@cmoshpit9171 I appreciate your reply. Glad you figured out your issue. All of these overpriced zero tolerance sensors are certainly annoying. "TMAP" sensor it is. store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-intake-manifold-tmap-sensor-68282012aa

What does doing this mod change?
This mod replaces the actions/duties of the factory 47RH transmission temperature sensor. The transmission will go into lock up even if it is below freezing outside (since the factory sensor will prevent lock up in order to warm the transmissions up). It's also more reliable than the factory temperature sensor as that sensor tends to fail quite frequently, losing lock up capabilities. Be sure to watch the video and its entirety.
Cummins makes all there own parts don’t be fooled
My truck goes in to 2nd gear and it stalls between 40mph and 50mph before going to 3rd gear and and then OD kicks in 4 seconds later sometimes 3rd gear goes in at around 45mph maybe 48mph and it feels like the TC is trying to lock it shakes a lot. I let go the pedal and then step on it to get over 50 mph and it drives smooth again going into third and overdrive. I will gladly appreciate your help. I’ve had this truck for one year and have rebuild. The transmission have taken it back and everything looks fine before I take it back for the third time I seen your videos, you have a lot of knowledge, in transmissions you for your help
I appreciate your kind words and I hope to help you with your situation. Have you adjusted the TV cable? A damaged or improperly adjustable TV cable can cause issues like that. Also, sometimes the TV spring beside the transmission case can be stretched.
How do you check it? It has no level on it
It has markings at the end of the stick.
@@AES5967 yes I have a 2022. I had to take it to the dealer to get a reading. My factory dipstick doesn’t have any level signs.. Thanks #Dodge

Yes it was the turbo actuator that causes the issue!
What is that for because my doche is no power when aseletion
It essentially determines how much fuel to burn.
Best thing to do is do a tune and delete.
Best thing to do is fix it correctly.

You answered your question what goes out on the water pumps the bearings
Definitely a common theme. I do see many water pumps breaking off a fin/propeller or two. It's interesting. I just replaced the water pump in my 6.7. The Bostech (featured in this video) needed to be replaced. Under 15k miles. It wasn't the actual pump that went bad but it was the seal that went bad. It was a very cheap thin seal compared to the one I got with the Bullet Proof Diesel water pump.
Is that truck singing the theme from the Terminator movie
Ha, enjoy!
You should think about using a Torque Wrench.
Thank you for the comment!
Where’d you get that window trim that’s sweet.
They're custom. I made them out of some chrome molding that can be found at any auto parts store (can't remember the exact size). They lay over the OEM window trim. Nothing special. They helped gain that modern yet classy look

@@AES5967 make some more videos of it man. Do you have an instagram by chance, showcasing this pickup?
@@TheRossilliniI do need more videos of it for sure. I regret not filming what I did with it well before the truck industry got to where it is now. I would have been a UA-cam wizard. No social media for me or the truck.
Has anyone had a surging problems? When your stopped at a red light the truck idles low to high continuously. It’s really odd. I don’t know what it could be.
It could be a dirty MAP sensor. ua-cam.com/video/DccwaxDOvT0/v-deo.html
Every now and then mine would do it. I just ordered another map sensor. This is like the third sensor I've bought now.
Did you find the problem ? My 2019. Does same Vibration at idle and when accelerating it goes away
It's the fuel pressure regulator that is casing that issue.
Thank you !
I have gotten boost but no brake
I got boost but know brake too, had the actuator replaced but the brake works for a little while then quits working until I turn off engine. Any thoughts.
Low-end hard hitting boost or only mid-throttle, spooled-up boost? If your VGT is stuck full-open it'll need time to spool and brake won't work.
Got a P0107 after putting a cheap orileys universal sensor in it also got P077D. Truck goes into limp mode allowing only 1200 rpm and dumps a bunch of smoke when I first put the cheap sensor in, it ran fine next day went back to limp mode could it be because it’s not a genuine sensor? Or is something else causing it?
I would highly suspect that it's from the universal sensor. Swap it out with a genuine OEM unit and report back. Genos garage is an excellent website to buy one.
Well replaced with new sensor and still having same issues,
@@TheHaggertonFamily what's the part number of the new sensor? Also, have you tried resetting the truck via disconnecting the batteries for about 30min?
@TheHaggertonFamily Did you ever resolve this issue? Having the same problem
@wooden4skin it ended up being turbo actuator
The MAP sensor in my truck has been there since it was made (11 years), I am going to clean it first before I get a new one, my problems came yesterday after work, I get in the truck, start it up and I noticed that the turbo sounded like when I turn on the engine brake in the winter time, I shut it down and restarted it and no more jet engine, but when I made a quick stop to the commissary, it came back, so I did the start and restart and it wouldn't go away, so I got a ride home and had towed home this morning, but yeah, that MAP sensor was caked with soot when I got it out.
I hope that you get the truck situated. Assuming that you have emissions still intact, I highly recommend that you check out a couple of my other videos that are on my channel. The video's are showing DIY's on cleaning some of the emission systems on these 6.7l's. For your convenience: 1. ua-cam.com/video/WJysDLf4PcU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AES 2. ua-cam.com/video/9xo-X_oDnkE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AES Some other components that should be cleaned/checked: 1. intake horn / butterfly valve / intake plenum 2. check the faulty grid heater
My truck is doing the exact same thing, turbo engine brake stuck on and code for maf voltage high and low circuit

I replace my OEM whit a car quest water pump 55 k miles ago , the OEM broke in Las Vegas during a work day , no time to order anything, still going strong
I'm happy to hear that the carquest pump is treating you well
I was thinking of getting 5x11 sac from dfi. I do not mind a slight haze but no smoke I wonder if i should go with VCO. It sucks no one will ship to my state even though i am pre smog.
I do find that the SAC injectors are louder than the VCO's (at least at idle), which is why if I ever change them out, I will put VCO's back in. I could live without the SAC haze as well.
Use map sensor cleaner only good 10,000 mile maintance item .Do it on my duramax can notice a difference lots of carbon soot from the wonderful egr system. Thanks EPA.
Have you considered using diesel fuel additives to improve combustion efficiency and have less soot?
Shit
Just tried it on my 16 2500 Laramie and it works .. thanks

That sounds like shit why do you like that for
Show me more of that shit
I hope to upload more of it someday.
That stupid low idle is ruining it.low idle is low oil pressure just when it needs it most. But I guess it's "cool"
I don't think the idle is alarming low, it's just the uneaven loping not running clean that make it sound so low. This is the way the most of the a-class trucks in Canada sounds, and it's not the idle that's the worst for these engines, hauling 140 000 lbs uphill whit the hp output 4 times more than they're designed for on twice the original highest rpms is a bit worse I think.
Life expectancy of that motor? About 15 seconds...
I'd be curious how often parts need to be replaced on something like this given how it's used.
Sound like a cat motor 😊
