Kiwi Design Battery Strap vs Bobovr M3 Pro?: ua-cam.com/video/5yuqdZXaU4s/v-deo.html
00:00 - Introduction
The Bobovr M3 Pro offers a better fit than many competitors, including the Meta Quest 3 Elite Strap and the Kiwi Design Comfort Strap. The best part? It comes in at half the price of the Elite Strap!
Pros

00:43 - Innovative Design
The Bobovr M3 Pro doesn’t use a typical top strap. Instead, it features extra padding on the arms and forehead, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit. The Meta Quest 3 slides securely into the strap, providing more rotation and adjustability for a custom fit that other straps don’t offer.
01:55 - Detachable Magnetic Battery
One of the standout features is the detachable battery, which attaches magnetically. This allows you to swap it out for charging while continuing to play. The battery is powerful and offers roughly 2 hours of extra gameplay, making this a game-changer for extended VR sessions.
03:33 - Comfort Padding
The Bobovr M3 Pro excels in comfort with its cushioned skull cradle and sweat-proof padding, which is easy to clean. Compared to Meta’s Elite Strap, this added padding enhances the overall experience, especially for those who spend long hours in VR.
04:02 - Grippy Pads for Bald Users
Bobovr thought of everyone with this design, including bald users. The replaceable grippy pads make sure the strap stays securely in place, even if you don't have hair. Though I can’t personally use them (as they tug on my hair), it's a brilliant idea for those who need it.
04:30 - Flexibility with Hinged Arms
One of the unique design features is the hinges in the arms. Unlike the Kiwi Design Comfort Strap, the Bobovr M3 Pro’s hinges move both up and down, allowing you to adjust the fit according to your head shape. This customization adds another layer of comfort and convenience.
05:55 - Stylish Aesthetic
Initially I thought the Bobovr M3 Pro was hideous to look at and it reminded me of the back and neck brace Regina George had to wear after getting hit by the bus... But much to my surprize it actually gives the Quest 3 an even more futuristic vibe which I was definitely a fan of in the end.
06:22 - Affordability
The Bobovr M3 Pro offers more features and comfort than the Meta Quest Elite Strap and Kiwi Design Strap at a lower price. This makes it an excellent option for anyone looking to upgrade their Meta Quest 3 setup without breaking the bank.
Cons
_________________________________
06:57 - Difficult Installation
The installation of the Bobovr M3 Pro wasn’t intuitive. I had to pull out the manual to figure out how to assemble the pieces. It’s not a dealbreaker, but be prepared to spend a little extra time putting it together if you’re used to standard head straps.
07:55 - Doesn’t Fit in the Meta Quest 3 Carrying Case
Unfortunately, the Bobovr M3 Pro doesn’t fit into the official Meta Quest 3 carrying case. This was a big drawback for me since I like to store my headset safely when not in use. If this is an issue for you, I recommend looking into a custom carrying case that fits the Bobovr M3 Pro properly.

Final Thoughts: 09:41
The Bobovr M3 Pro is a fantastic upgrade for Meta Quest 3 users who want improved comfort and extra features like a detachable magnetic battery. The added flexibility in fit and the lower price point make it a strong contender in the VR accessories market.
Despite a few minor issues with installation and the lack of compatibility with the Meta Quest 3 case, the pros far outweigh the cons.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the chat box once it's up on the screen? There's no button to click it off.... it just sits at the top hand right hand corner and doesn't turn off
I’m your 895 suber
Thank you so much! Just 105 more to go and I'll finally be in the UA-cam Partner program! Means a lot.
Great review 👍🏻
Glad you liked it
Thank you
Pleasure!
This vs the kiwi one you reviewed, which one has a better battery life?
Hi Can you also connect to the MI Box?
so whats ur thoughts of this vs the kiwi one
Here the video about the Kiwi one: ua-cam.com/video/yF6wgjzGl_4/v-deo.htmlsi=D8IWYJqxB4nvrZHQ
@@meta_junkie i saw the kiwi one man lol, im asking if u have a preference since you’ve used both
I like the m3 pro better but I hate that it doesn’t fit in the case 😂
Chromecast sucks for travelling. you are dependant on a router with Wifi and knowing the password! Also the Google Home app is super buggy and will take lile 12 attempts and frustration when you try to find the device and setup process. Buy a Usb-c to HDMI adapter instead!!🎉
lol thanks for you input. I don’t find travelling with it difficult at all. I just hook into the wifi and off I go.
the hard thing with vr headsets, even if you talk for days people cant understand the difference or exprience unless they try themselves. Just like people asking glass wearers ''how do you see with these''
I give up on commenting it, I don't know if it UA-cam or Google but it keep changing what i type into wired unreadable sentence.
Yeah but pricing for people in europe is a lot different cos meta wont ship it officialy, here, quest 3s will cost 370€ (about 400$), and quest 3 cost here about 650-700€ (about 700-750$) so the price of quest 3 (128gb) here is almost twice as much as for 3s, also i think that we wont get discount for quest 3 like they did it in the US, so i would say 3s is really worth it becase the only dowgrade is screen with litle bit less pixels and the fresnel lenses. And if it is you first headset and you dont want to spend lot of money, 3s is the best option out there
A muscle shirt with no muscles.
I would love to see what your body looks like after reading that comment. 😂
Well I preordered the 3s. The extra 200 is a deal breaker. It’s a budget friendly headset with the same specs. I’m sure pancake lenses are amazing but I don’t have the patience nor the money to get the 3. That’s the reason for the existence of the 3s
Couldnt agree more i wouldnt go back to an optical system like the quest 2’s as long as the quest 3 or pro is available. I have the pro and am considering getting the 3 just for the passthrough improvement
bobovr right
if anyone sees this and wants to overpay for a headstrap for some reason then buy a vision pro solo knit band and 3d print a converter
Not for people who have a quest three it’s made for people who have a quest two and one upgrade we do not wanna spend $500
honestly my opinion on the quest 3s is that it’s just a quest 2 pro. it literally only has a higher ram, newer processor, and rgb passthrough. these things are good, sure. but i would argue that these features are so minor, where you could just buy the quest 3 instead of a quest 3s
Having a better ram and new bigger processor isn't a small upgrade I think.
@@gopinath4119 sure. but why not buy a quest 3 instead of the 3s?
@SpidarDude there are specific people who can't buy them for 500 dollars. And people like me who play only few sport games is fine with quest 3s which gets better battery, ram, and processor, along with passthrough is more then enough for many. But when someone who play VR games heavily can always opt for quest 3.
Video title: reasons not to buy the quest 3s Me: reasons not to give a crap and still buy it because i am not paying an extra $200 for some slightly nicer graphics and different design.
Me: (shrugs shoulders)
If you double tap the left side of the head strap it will also activate pass through
Thanks for that info!
Have you reviewed them both yet? I couldn’t decide between bobo or kiwi either
Literally Just putting the final touches on the Kiwi review now. Should be out within the next 24 hours. :) Bobo is coming after that.

ITS AMAZING WHY ISNT THIS VIRAL????
hey, just wanted to tell you to not stop making videos. youre making quality content, keep going!
Thanks so much, Nathaniel! 🙌 That really means a lot. I’m definitely going to keep making videos. Glad you’re enjoying the content and there’s a lot more coming your way! 😄
Dude, be happy it's more affordable. We're gonna get more updates and support now that there's a more affordable version. I can say the same thing to you about higher end headsets. Just save up more and get a pimax crystall. Lol. I can't wait for the new graphics updates!
I totally get where you're coming from, and it's great that the 3S makes VR more accessible for more people. It’s definitely a win for the community in that sense. I'm just a big advocate for getting the best possible experience out of a headset, especially if it's something you’ll be using long term.
I just stumbled on your video and I had to throw some support your way on the Fresnel Lens deal. I just did a video basically talking about the same thing and MAN there are some Quest3S Fanboys out there. I'd say a majority of the comments agree with our stance but those that don't... holy cow. So just know, there are those of us out there that agree with you 100% Cheers Mate!
Thanks so much for the support! 🙌 It's always good to hear from fellow creators who see things the same way. The pancake lenses really do make such a noticeable difference in comfort and clarity, and yeah, I've definitely seen some heated debates about it. But hey, we’re just here to share what works for us! Glad to know there are others like you backing up the Fresnel lens argument. Cheers.
how can you be sure it’s the fresnel lenses and not the inferior processing of the Quest 2 that made the difference? Is there a way to test or control for the variables?
Great question! It's hard to fully control for variables like processing power without doing some in-depth side-by-side testing, but the main difference I noticed came down to how my eyes felt after long sessions. The Fresnel lenses in the Quest 2 tended to strain my eyes much quicker compared to the pancake lenses in the Quest 3. The improved processing in the Quest 3 helps, for sure, but I’m convinced the lens design plays a big role in overall comfort too. Maybe I’ll need to experiment more and do a proper deep dive comparison! 😎
they literally mentioned lenses and display is the same with quest 2 units
AU$499.99 and AU$799.99 here
Yeah, the prices here in AU definitely add up! 😅 It makes the decision between the Meta Quest 3 and 3S even tougher when you’re looking at that price gap. At the end of the day, it’s all about what you value most in your VR experience-whether it’s the improved visuals and comfort or saving some cash. How are you leaning?
@@meta_junkieI originally had a quest 2 before selling it due to not having the space to use it and I just bought the quest 3s, from what I can tell they’re super similar and I didn’t have many issues with the quest 2 so I’m assuming it’s going to be the same here. Might add that the quest 2 was my first ever headset so I didn’t have anything better or worse to compare it to which likely helped me enjoy it more. (Either way I’m super keen for my quest 3s to arrive in a couple days)
thats why the psvr2 is meh lol
@@benjiebarker I’ve not looked into PSVR… I’m guessing they went with fresnels to keep costs down too.
cast "Icon" is not there for me. Nor is it anywhere but when I click "camera" ,but then my TV does not show up.
Try this updated version: ua-cam.com/video/ctE23pI1uks/v-deo.htmlsi=nVw-pRx3cTnVWOPl
Are those the same exact same lenses as on quest 2? Okay, they are Fresnel, but this is a class of lenses. I would imagine they did some improvements on them since the quest 2. We need to see them for actual review.
Good point! But honestly, I'm a bit doubtful about any major improvements. During the Quest 3S launch, Zuck literally just mentioned 'Fresnel lenses' and moved right on, while the pancake lenses on the Quest 3 got their own song and dance. So, it doesn’t seem like the Fresnel lenses got much of an upgrade, but I guess we’ll have to wait for more detailed reviews to know for sure!
I've been using a Quest 2 for about 2 years. Finally upgraded to the Quest 3 last week. Do I like ? Yes, but... it's not all roses here. First off, when actually wearing the headset the upgraded Passthrough (visuals) are still grainy in appearance (under reasonable lighting conditions). Only the recorded views of this look razer sharp. Secondly, as nice as the Pancake lenses are, they are not without fault. During my 1st day of testing I noticed a slightly hazy looking reflection when inside Prime Video and Bigscreen. At first I thought it was my lenses fogging up and needing some cleaning, but that wasn't the case. This particular issue isn't talked about much on UA-cam, but doing a Google search you will see others have the same complaints. This may or may not be an inherent design of the newer lenses or that they require a special coating. I just don't know for sure, but don't bash on the Quest 2 Fresnel lenses. I have no similar issues with those and (perhaps) Meta knows something that they are keeping zipped tight...
I totally agree that the Fresnel lenses from the Meta Quest 2 had their strengths as well, especially in certain lighting situations. I just feel in comparison to the difference the pancakes lenses have made for me are unmatched. Either way, it’s great to have this kind of detailed feedback so we can all get the best possible experience. Hopefully, they’ll keep refining these lenses in the future. 😊
@@meta_junkie I absolutely agree with you here and can't wait to see the day when the visuals inside the headset look as fantastic, clear and sharp as if seeing it in real life. Keeping my claws crossed as always... Take care brother...
Dont you get it? If the meta quest 3s had pancake lenses there would no difference between the 3 and the 3s so basically there would be no point of even making a 3s. The 3s is supposed to be a bugget vr
Exactly! The Quest 3S is definitely aimed at the budget-conscious crowd, and they had to make some trade-offs to keep that price lower. But if you’re all about that premium experience, the Meta Quest 3 with the pancake lenses is totally worth the splurge! 😁
No going back after pancakes.
Right?! 😎
You made me to buy it I'm sold
Glad I could help!! Trust me, you're going to love it! Welcome to the Meta Quest 3 club! 🎉🔥
Personally, I’m getting two meta-quest threes now for 500 gigs. It’s not worth getting that other one that still inferior to this one.
Woah, two of them? How are you planning on wearing both of the at the same time? 😂
Not sure I even really heard the reasons not too get the 3s? Other than lenses this was an add for the glasses lol
LOL, I promise I mentioned the pancake lenses as the biggest reason to consider going for the Meta Quest 3 over the 3S! 😅 Maybe the excitement for the glasses overshadowed it a bit. But seriously, the lenses make a huge difference in comfort and clarity, especially for longer VR sessions. Thanks for watching though. Maybe I'll have to do a dedicated video just on the lenses next time! 😂
is the $80 extra taking it to $800 Aud worth it over the 128gb version for just $720 right now + Free Batman game?
Great question! Honestly, it depends on how you plan to use it. If you're a heavy gamer, then the extra $80 for more storage might be worth it, especially if you plan to download a lot of games. But if you’re mainly using it for virtual desktop work or fitness apps (like I do), the 128GB is probably plenty. I went with the 128GB when the Quest 3 launched with Asgard’s Wrath, and it’s been perfect for my needs. That said, if I could go back, I might just splurge for the extra storage... Better to have it and not need it, right? 😂
It's frustrating that people like you talk about just a $200 price difference between the Quest 3 and the Quest 3S, as if paying extra for the pancake lenses is no big deal. What's often overlooked is the fact that there are many additional costs involved-like the breathable face pad for the Quest 3S and the Elite Strap for the headset. These accessories easily add another $150 or more, and that's not even considering the cost of games, which you'll definitely end up buying once you dive into the VR experience..
I totally get where you're coming from! The extra costs for accessories like the face pad and Elite Strap do add up, no doubt. My focus here was more on the value of the device itself, particularly the lens difference. Having used both, I personally think saving for the premium experience is worth it for the improved comfort and visuals. But I agree, everyone’s situation is different, and the total cost of getting into VR can vary a lot.
Buy the 3rd party accessories which are way cheaper
Arent pancake lences much darker? dont they absorb like 90% of the lcd screen or something silly like that?
I haven’t noticed the pancake lenses being darker at all. If anything, the Quest 3 looks much clearer and doesn’t strain my eyes like the Quest 2 did. Pancake lenses are designed to fold light more efficiently, so they offer better clarity without being as hard on your eyes. Are you a Quest owner, or are you considering an upgrade?
@@meta_junkie got quest 2 i just know that pancake lenses have to bounce light internally by 180 degrees ... twice, which means they suffer a loss of 50 % each time, and then you have lense material absorption on top, something Fresnel dosnt have to do this means the display needs to be like 5-10x brighter which translates to more power usage so im wondering how much darker quest 3 is compared to quest 2
To be honest, darker image quality has not come to my attention at all when using the quest 3.
@@googleslocik Perceptually, the image on the Quest 3 is not darker. On the contrary, the fact that the image is not only sharp in the center (sweet spot) but almost in the entire field of view is very pleasant for the eyes, so you can look around just by moving your eyes and you don't have to constantly turn your head, which is necessary for all VR headsets with Fresnel lenses. I have a HTC VIVE Pro 2 headset and after I bought the Quest 3 I put it to rest for good and no longer use it.
I had the quest 2 but recently got the quest 3 500 gig. The 3s is basically a 2s. I'll pay the extra 100 for more gigs and better visuals.
Yeah, great choice! From what I’ve seen, the lenses are the biggest difference. As I mentioned in this vid, the upgrade in image quality and the comfort of the pancake lenses is a game changer for me. Definitely worth it!
I hope everyone thinks like this because 500 for the 512 Quest 3 is absolutely worth it. You get better lense, more memory, better balanced weight, and the more premium feeling/looking device.
Totally agree! The $500 for the 512GB Quest 3 is definitely worth it, especially with the better lenses, more memory, and overall premium feel. It really elevates the whole VR experience, and that balance makes a huge difference during longer sessions. Glad to see we're on the same page!
