Fusion fall was a great game

Personally, I don't get the fascination with the puffmin. It was a cool twist surprise back in the day, but if they kept bringing it back, it would have gotten pretty stale. And outside of the shock of seeing the transformation happen the first time, it's just an annoyance if it happens afterwards. So I'm fine with that mechanic not coming back, and I don't understand why so many in the Pikmin community want it back. But hey, to each their own. I also feel like that some, not all but some, of the blame for the combat being easier is due to experience. I'd imagine that, like me and my mom (we both loved and played the entire series to death from the OG launch day), a lot of the people who bought the games are returning players. It's probably hard to throw new challenges at us because we've been around since the start. I would imagine that for a brand new player, these bosses are decently challenging. Going back to my mom, she didn't play the games as regularly as I do. So when she got Pikmin 4 and we were talking about the game, she talked about the bosses like they were challenging. She had to ask me for help with a couple of them. Even with everything the game gives you in terms of advantages. I feel like us Pikmin vets should really keep that aspect in mind when we evaluate how difficult the bosses appear to be. That all being said, a positive thing that I think comes out of this is the customizable difficulty. Let me explain. Let's start with Ice Pikmin. They're basically the ultra-bitter spray on a cool down (pun intended). They absolutely trivialize nearly every fight they're used in. But so did bitter spray. You don't have to use ice pikmin in combat, just as you never had to use the bitter spray. Neither are required. You don't have to make use of Oatchi's charge and stun or his combat power or his carrying abilities. But you can if you want to. It's something for those with the experience under their belts to limit to create extra challenge. I've revisited the game to try out these self-imposed challenges. Again, all that being said, the bosses are easier. They're not as bulky and die faster. But let's try something out here. Imagine we had these same bosses and they had the massive beefy health meters from their past entries. Given the experience a Pikmin vet would have with these bosses, you'd probably hear a lot of complaining about them being damage sponges. Is what we have perfect? No, but I'd take short and relatively uneventful fights over long and boring ones. Just my two cents.

there's certainly quite a few more starfox inspired games if you ever want to do a followup video. Creature Shock (Argonaut's first person horror game with starfox style flight missions for the ps1), Space Debris (a uk exclusive starfox inspired game on the ps1), and Astro Troopers Vanark (a starfox inspired game on the ps1 with a interactive mothership hub you can walk around in between missions)

Also, I still miss the og Emperor Bulblax The new one, while good, it's still not as big as the first one It's just like half the size which makes me always think that the original one was special more than the rest

Something that bothered me about the Smoky Progg in 4 was it's design It looks too... *Natural* In Pikmin 1 if you looked closer behind it you would see a shiny orb inside it's body which, when put to perspective, meant that Smoky Progg didn't actually had eyes It's "eyes" are actually the glow of the orb going out of the body through it's eye sockets. Which makes me think the gold pearl it drops when killed it's a dead core In 4 it's changed so it actually has eyes instead of the alien glow that made it so misterious and scary in the first place Along with yeah, the fact that it has more than one apparition. Now it just looks like any other beast. While the gloom is cool, I feel it takes away from how it used to look

Pikmin 1 is better than Pikmin 4.

I remember playing this on my grandmas computer but when I try to press certain things the loading screen (green slime goes super slow and sorta breaks the game) If only I can play it again except it’s rare…….and there’s rarely any Longplays of it Atleast speedruns help out

My main gripe with the water wraith is that it’s too thin now in pikmin 2 you could just barely squeeze around it if you only had around 20 pikmin but here? you can run circles around it

I also want Colonel Cossack to ACTUALLY be allowed back in the wrestling ring on CERTAIN occasions for the Thumb Wrestling Federation FOR REAL AND FOR GOOD ONE DAY!

My favorite part of this episode is "Then Dexter said..." And then nothing!

A little late to the party, but EX-Zodiac is the best Star Fox inspired game imo. And also, I would say that Fur Squadron is more of a "ripoff" than Star X, since at least it's trying to give a new type of story while Fur is just using antropormophic characters talking in the same manner as 64, but not that it bothers me in both cases.

I remember this episode it had all this weird tripping drawings on it.

In spite of this episode was written by a kid but is still better than trash episodes like "Chicken scratch" and "Dexter vs santa claus" was made by adults.

The DS and DS Lite have alarm functions, you just have to set it in the system settings and tap the little icon at the bottom right of the touch screen.

The one time I used the alarm feature on the DSi the battery died and I missed some fireworks…

From the Game & WATCH to the recent Alarmo, it seems Nintendo really likes their clocks. Still a very specific thing to cover as a video topic but that means a good chance to learn something new and obscure. 0:43 - What do you know; my opening comment predicted the first minute of the video. 2:05 - The season change was both cool and inconvenient. Cool because it exists but you'll likely clear through the main game far before you have any chance to witness these season changes. 3:51 - I'm sure the original DS had this alarm feature as well. I'm sure I remember actually using it when my alarm clock broke between getting a new one. A very quiet alarm, but when put in a bedside cabinet, you should be able to hear it in the morning. 6:33 - "Sleep Patterns?" Once again, Nintendo really wants to know your sleep data. Very specifically they want to know about how and when you sleep. 7:33 - Was this a Nintendo made alarm? Odd that they went with a generic sheep theme to it rather than something more... Nintendo, or even put more style into the sheep and setting themselves. Would be kind of funny to see generic alarm sheep (Mr Sheep; I looked it up and he does have a name) included in Smash Bros in some way though. 11:27 - The theme is nice, though it is interesting to see the surprising amount of ways Sheep Clock and Animal Crossing Clock here differ. I see no mention of sleep patterns here and you've got less sound choices. 13:05 - It's a small thing but adding a little gameplay bit does add plenty of charm. Makes it feel more Nintendo than even the theme applied. 15:35 - Playing WarioWare on your 3DS inside your WarioWare on your 3DS. Real inception moment here. 16:33 - Would be terrible if you're bad at the game, unable to turn off the alarm clock. This is the sort of thing I actually expected from Alarmo as I watched it's trailer. Real neat; again, brimming with Nintendo charm through finding ways to implement gameplay.

I want the Thumb Wrestling Federation to ACTUALLY be revived for more seasons with the Captain Esplanade vs. Dwayne Bramage wrestling match ACTUALLY added FOR REAL AND FOR GOOD ONE DAY!

If oatchi wasnt in pikmin 4 the game would be so much harder it just erases the difficulty. Don't get me wrong the game has some hard parts but my point still stands. Nintendo HATES making games hard now they just side with kids and make games easy.

no one understands my disappointment in this game, really. i was a really young child who played the shit out of pikmin 3, waited the full 10 year wait for 4, and kept up so often with the project. this was my first pikmin game that i actually bought on release, because i was so young for 3. its not that this game is bad, well, debatable. i beat the final boss last night, and it honestly just showed me that i shouldn't have bought this game. piss easy until the last moment where it matters, and then it manufactures difficulty and gameplay length like we're on the NES again. it's not hard, but the game's mechanics, and awful hitboxes, make it an absolute nightmare. there's 0 reason this game should not have difficulty settings when it's predecessor was gifted it. this is my verdict really, it ruined everything i loved about the first three, especially getting rid of 3's very grandiose boss fights, nerfing my favorite bosses, overusing them, and then rubbed it into my face like it was a love letter.

While I agree Emperor Bulblax is a major improvement over pikmin 2, he is still a shadow of his former self, the pikmins insane speed and Oatchi basically make him a cakewalk. The largest problem with pikmin 3 and 4 is the low difficulty and constant handholding. Still love both games though.

Forgot to mention Saragosso DooM WAD. I mean you get to play as Wolf... but in DooM.

I'm still in my pikmin 4 playthrough (doing a challenge run where I can't use Pikmin until I get the onion, now I gotta go through the sage leaf trials bc you need white pikmin for the wings) But if I remember correctly... The Smokey Progg now was given a reason for the mutation... Glow Sap. So now its less of a mystery, but now that I think about it, is it supposed to be compared to Glow Pikmin? Light instead of Gloom... Huh
