Cambridge Audio Azur 651C. Incredible detail extraction from all my CDs. Upon hearing it for the first time it was a real revelation, but it can sound slightly cool, perhaps even clinical.

I have. the 8006 cd player and streamer and love it.

I own Teac cd-p4500 from 1993 and works fine with sweet sound and heavy bass responce.Looking for a new cd player for a second system (other room).Many new cd -players have problems with drives.Also many are cold/shrill/clinic sounding.Iam between 6007 and denon dcd-900.Marantz 6007 has better reputation with reliability.But what hifi said that 6007 in comparison with 6006 is more shrill/aggressive at uppermids and highs.And that is a BIG problem for me because i can't tolerate harsh mids and highs.Of course you can't be sure about synergy between equipment.My sustem Yamaha A-S 501 and Q Acoustics 3030i.How do you feel about the uppermids and highs of 6007?Bass is deep enough or just fast?

Bought the Marantz pm8006 two months ago. Best integrated amplifier I have ever owned. Superb Japanese quality.

Kanto YU4s or their new Oras which is more expensive. Dunno who’s tuning their speakers but he’s got golden ears!

I have a silver AK DAC version of Marantz CD6007. I really like it, sometimes I even use headphone output.

I have this units since 2003. And love them. I could cara less for 7.1 or 9.1. I don't even have the rear speakers connected. Monitor Audio and they do sounds good too. Pioneer Elite DVD. It will do the job.

Buzz kill, sorry. My cd 6005, cd 6006 sounded ok as a low budget cd player, unfortunately the transports go batty after only about a year or so of light use. Good luck. Presently spinning silver on an Audiolab 6000cdt out to an SMSL SU-9 dac.

Wow no wonder direct mode was harsh, I have heard the Sonetto III on a couple different amps and the tweeters really play way out ahead of the mids, my Focal Arias on the other hand actually have a dip in those tweeter frequencies, making me think that this amp might be exactly what I need🤔🤔

Hello, I have the same amplifier and the same CD Player but I finally paired the amp with the Focal Vestia N1 (after trying with other similar speakers like the KEF LS50 Meta and the Klipsch RP6000ii). I added the Focal Sub Cub Evo and the entire system has blown me entirely with the outcome sound. I agree with the fact that the PM8006 struggles a bit with the bass tones but the sub made a huge difference. You might be able to try with your Sonos and add a subwoofer to improve it. Thanks!

Klipsch is exactly how they sound sibilant, specifically with a horn loaded tweeter. Their treble always sounds psch to me, never be a fan of their products.

my current desktop set up is AIYIMA A08 PRO HOOKED UP TO IFI ZEN DAC UPGRADED VERSION this system is amazing great for headphones and also bookshelf for close field listening.

I had a tough time with the R series as well. I ended up returning them and getting the RP600M's that are great quality for the price.

before that i used jvc equipment, yahama ax700 and CA 740, which I still consider great, but marantz pm 8006 is superior to CA, i.e. the quality of components. I bought a marantz pm 8006 used with the manufacturer's warranty and I am very pleased. I was afraid of less power than in CA and yamaha but it's not true because it has a bigger kick than those with more power which is really strange but also great:D Regards and I don't think I will change it until it breaks down :D

I have a Marantz CD6007 it is superb! Using KEF q350 speakers with it an powered by an Arcam SA20 Amplifier.😊

I just wish that audio companies would also go back to the silver faced equipment as an option to other than black or titanium.

i have a 6007 and when i first listened to it, it sounded muffled and now i know why, i am really pissed off about it particularly when it is advertised as AK chip and mine has the ESS..yes i have listened to one with the correct chip..you can hear the difference.

one of few excellent mods for this player is to obtain some road kill (Halfords) its a bitumen/foil - sound deadening compound just cut and peel off the correct size for the underneath the cover, apply with a little heat and.....be amazed.

My concern about buying a used CD player is how many years it will play without problems like skipping or stoping and the ability to handle scratches. A test of these capabilities is quite important! Thanks for the video!

Interesting presentation thanks - I had 6006 a few years ago and I really liked it - and I am thinking about a 6007 - BUT I was offered a good deal on a new CD60 and I'm very tempted to buy it -- I can get a 6007 boxed in as new condition for about €400 and a new CD60 for €600 .. I don't know about others but my idea of cheap isn't $700.

I have a quad artera solus play, via an emotiva basx a2 power amp to ma bronze 5 speakers, brilliant.

I have the Marantz CD 6007 and teamed up with the PM 6007 Integrated Amp. Purchased just before Covid and shortly after that both units prices jumped by $300.00 each.(Crutchfield) I use the optical connection for the DAC .Overall I think this is an outstanding combo. I like that fact you can adjust the DAC filter. BTW I also have a Marantz Receiver 2250B (1976) restored which is just a work of art. So I have really been drinking the Marantz Kool- Aid for a long time. I am sure you will be happy with your choices. It's been a month since you made this video let me know how it's working out. for you.

Try a higher quality external DAC. I think you will notice the difference.
