So, after all these years, we decided to build a second one. This video is part one of that build. Visit us at www.backyardboatbuilders.com

Here we give new life to a Sea Ray “Weekender” We purchased this Sea Ray at auction. The boat was sound but the engine didn’t run and it was dirty. Things like bilge pumps needed attention along with many small things. The boat turned out very nice. The Ray handled very nice on the water. Great Boat!

Переглядів 22 тис.4 роки тому
The Fair Havens was built from the Glen-L plans and was our first boat build. She was a family project and I cannot say enough about what a great boat the Gypsy turned out to be. We lost the original pictures in a hurricane, so some of the pictures are not as clear as we would like. In this video, we show the construction and first cruise from Coca Beach Florida to St. Augustine. Please visit u...

Rebuilding a Yukon Delta Houseboat
Переглядів 94 тис.5 років тому
In this video we share the rebuilding of a 1977 Yukon Delta Houseboat. We wanted something that could be quickly fixed for use on the Florida waterways. What we thought was a simple fix up turned out to be a total rebuild. For more information about the Yukon and other boating projects visit us at www.BackyardBoatbuilders.com

In the video “Building a 20 ft. trailerable Houseboat Part - 1”, we shared how we built the hull and modified a deep ‘V’ trailer. In Part 2, "Building a 20 ft. trailerable Houseboat Part - 2", we turn the hull. That required some thought and we probably did not take a conventional way to do this. Well folks we did it again! You would think after our Yukon Delta Houseboat purchase we would know how NOT to buy another surprise rebuild project. But we fell in love with the good old bones of this boat. This is a great pontoon rebuild. Restoring a 1960 Starcraft - Here Comes LittleToot
Great job 👍
Beautiful!!!!
I built one, but I’m unhappy with the cabin exterior. So I’m. Sanding it down to repaint it. Hope to have it on the water next spring.
Anyone know of a "dead in the water" so to speak of one of these builds. Unfinished projects are my specialty.
How long was the pontoon boat and how much white do you have on it
I hope all is well with you.
Did you abandon this project?
A magnificent build
Wonderful. We have a 1960 rowboat we're about to renovate.
the wood in the floor is not built very good the butt joints have large gaps i would not trust it in bad weather
Excellent job , making it your own is always best.
I am starting to build me one and I am looking towards building it like y’all good job Cajun land church point Louisiana👍
I believe I've seen y'all build 2 houseboats.. 1. Glen-L Gypsy and 2. a Dianne's Rose. Is that correct, and if so, which build did you prefer and more importantly, which final product/boat did/do you prefer and why? Appreciate your videos. Very informative and you do such great work. Fun to watch. Thanks!
This is what I wish I had the money to do
That is not a house boat ! Where is the kitchen or the beds
I have one of these but its 18ft long. So thats what they should look like LOL Mine looks like it joined the Russian Navy. Its been gutted, camo painted on it, and has been used for years as a dunk hunting boat.
What a great family project!
Great job Roy!
Congrats
That is a master piece
Spectacular work, especially the soft furnishings.
Wow that turned out awsome ive got a 26 footer that ide like to do something simular but not that nice just nice enough to be comfy in & be able to sleep & not get bitt to death by sqeiters & so the flies wont make us misserible & so we can keep it cool with air cond how many foot is yours 😊😊
Been watching ‘Emma builds Birdie’ she is building one of these manly alone 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
👍
Any idea if this boat still exists? If so, I wonder how it looks 40 years later! Nice work!
If that is a tankless hot water heater outside the rear door that close to an outboard motor that is a very dangerous situation.
Was reassuring to what I've been wanting to build. But design my own plans for a barge style fishing weekend warrior camping boat. I was so worried about draft. Seeing yours would be about my size and weight I know the draft should only be about 8in as calculated and I feel better now as yours didn't hardly draft any either! Start modeling my plans this weekend!!! Gave me a good idea how to do a door. As I wanted the cabin as low as possible. Decks at each end up. Forgot about those style hatch doors! Double 5ft decks at each end. Cabin in middle. Maybe a small deck on top with collapsible railing. Reservoir queen. 😊 nice build!
Beatifull work in the family
Sweet, nicely presented.
bravo
bravo
Awsome jurney together ❤❤😊
Nice job. It was refreshing to see a proper build. A young woman named Barbie builds Birbie is building one and her skills are cringe worthy. Her latest build video shows the hull upside down and she's getting ready to apply epoxy. She goes underneath with a roll of painter's tape to cover a gaping gap where two surfaces don't meet so she can fill the gap with epoxy. Warning: If you watch the video, it could induce nightmares for a real builder.lol
How much did it cost you? Looking into building something similar
great story about the steering - a very easy mistake to make. the guy that i work for picked up his boat from a professional yard and , after he launched it, discovered that they had done made the same mistake! nice job - my wife is particularly impressed.. wait a minute, isn't that how you got started with this project? :) jt
Love it ! A good size engine too. Hope she is still in use?
2 years ago i redid a 1960 viscount, what a great boat. I hadto restore her, that was the year i was born it called to me, old but not forgotten
Nice job! Where did you find parts? I’m missing several (left and right aft chrome corners, windshield, and a few others) What is the little chrome knob to the right of the helm for? Mine isn’t connected to anything.
Hı u do v good job l want u help me to follow ur way to bilud same biat what l want only the general arrangment plan with Clear dimantion if it is posible
8:36 pm. AZ time. I dated one of the founders of Yukon Delta. Your renovation is a huge step up from the original. Kudos
She is just beautiful!
Great video loved the project and the music
Here recently my aging mother had put together some items she’s held onto over the years and inside the crate was the original paperwork to when her and my father had purchased ours when I was a kid. I had great memories camping on it but never could remember the name of it and only bits and pieces of exactly what it had looked like. Your video really was a trip down memory lane that I truly enjoyed so much so after watching it and now knowing what to look for I’m going to start to look for my own new little project boat. Yukon Deltas slogan was “ The Travel Trailer That’s a Boat” you have definitely went beyond that to a one of a kind Vessel. Thank you for the memories.
Beautiful job...love the boat...
I would have made the walls a little thicker so I could insulate them. If you did that, you'd have a 4 season vessel in any climate.
Great job, good to see how the interior looks like,I'm restoring one now, Thanks for Sharing.
Great! Where's the conclusion?
nice job !!!!
I just bought the Exact same vessel to restore....can't wait !!
Coming along nicely. Looking forward to the next installment.
