This reminded me of my father building boats in Illinois when I was young. A flood of memories and every kind of boat imaginable we had. I still love boats living in Florida since 2000. All my sailboats are gone so time to start a classic 14' V hull w/outboard gotta have a windshield of old school looks that's how I found you. Thanks you for sharing this video❤❤❤
This is a very neat looking boat with excellent accommodation, and although I have never seen a bow like that, it's clear that it allows plenty of space for those aboard! It looked like a good place to be, and it did indeed look to be quite a fast boat. A nice balance of size, accommodation and speed, with good lines, too! Thank you for sharing your lovely family build and adventures. Edited to add that I have just watched your video again and even though I had seen it before, I found it hugely enjoyable. I am really drawn to the design of this lovely, compact but spacious houseboat. The ingenuity of the bow design is outstanding.
What a bunch of mad lads. Building boats out of wood. What is this world coming to? That must have been a great journey for the family. Hope the boat trip was fun as well.
Not at all. This boat is one of the best designs we found. From this boat we learned other things that have helped us on other projects. Plus Glen-L was a lot of help. Great family build...

Very nice boat looks like a lot of fun!
Well done! And kudos on rescuing those other boaters. You set a great example in both the building and as mariners.
Thank you very much!
That looked like lots of fun.
Awesome boat building skills! Great video!
Thank you 🤗
Love it ! A good size engine too. Hope she is still in use?
Great looking boat!
Sounds like a fun trip.
I'd like to do a trip from inland to intercoastal in Florida myself. Maybe one day.
Any idea if this boat still exists? If so, I wonder how it looks 40 years later! Nice work!
Thanks for sharing the videos! Can you talk about registration/titling/documentation part for a DIY boat? Thanks
Great job ! She's beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love that boat was the hull hard to build

Not really. One step at a time with good plans
@Backyard Boatbuilders Great looking boat, is the boat still around?
It is in Florida. However, we are building a new one. Video is coming
Wow, 39 years ago! Is everybody still around and doing alright?
Thanks for asking... All doing great!

AWESOME! 👍👏🐅
Thank you! 👍
Nice job. What kind of plywood did you use? And did you glass the hull or other parts?
Per the plans - Hull 3/8. Yes we glassed the hull.
@@backyardboatbuilders6417 Thank you!
Looks like they used exterior grade plywood. 👍 Environmentally conscious 👍👍
Per the plans - 3/8 and 1/2. Yes hull was glassed
