    The liner was installed incorrectly, watch Historys secrets channel on his restore of a 1916 German helmet. The pins can be reused, otherwise good job🪖😎

      @@adainr7849 yeah I actually did it on purpose, it won’t fit my head the right way. I’d be considered a giant in 1916, even though I supposedly got the right size liner with the pads in, the helmet sits really high up on my head. Flipping the liner makes in still down better on my head.

    You got a measurement for how much you cut off that stock? Thinking about doing a project of my own.

    • @MaximusOverhead
      @MaximusOverhead 9 днів тому

      I put a screwdriver down were the recoil system sits and marked it, the put the driver on the outside and marked the stock gave it a bit extra length just in case and then cut, I dont think my exact measurement wound help you since all these stocks could be different lengths.

    Great idea with the linseed oil. Works great for leather too. If I had to keep a small bottle of oil to keep my older milsurp/lever gats in good shape, it’d be linseed oil. Protects the wood, metal and the leather cartridge cuff. This stuff rules

    This is the version of M2 carbine that I think should have been in Korean war i.e. M2A1. The traditional stock and the light weight makes it difficult to control which result in misses and contribute to the notion of .30 carbine's lack of stopping.

      It’s a 1920s cutts compensator, it’s not a pop on part it needs to be solder welded on. So a proper gun smith needs to install it, unless your confidence in solder welding is high I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself.
