I would add to the list: Itzy - Imaginary friend; for someone who's not Itzy fan that song took me by surprise and now live rent free in my mind, ROSE - number one girl; I was waiting to see what BPs girls will do as soloists and Rose was the one who reached the absolute top for me. I just KNEW that Selfish Waltz would be here on this list! I've veeb obsessed with SW and Deep Dive since the album dropped. This year Aespa has been slowly growing on me. Ack, TELL me about the sparkly space girl music this year! Shooting Star was only the beginning, right next to Virtual Angel, and then followed up with Starry Night…I also tend to lump Girls Never Die and Imaginary Friend in there, just with how they feel sonically, (and Le Sserafim's Crazier, just due to the filters on that production) but it was suuuuch a good year for (as I called them, soft celestial gg songs)! They're exactly what I've been missing in this rise of much harder beats…Each of them manages to destroy me in their own way and they're all so beautiful. Funnily enough, I wasn't the highest on either Good Morning or Nemo Nemo (although I can absolutely see the potential in both, and her stage presence makes up for it, especially with that BBTrippin choreo)…But Damn U and The Ugly Duckling are constant repeats for me. I'm really happy with the way her sound is branching out in general-even if not all the songs are quite for me, it's a super fun direction to go in! I feel you on Madein-I was completely obsessed with the first two Limelight releases, and hopeful that with the new members they'd be able to have a bigger draw and a bigger budget-was still unhappy with the name change, because Limelight is so much more fun, but that just seems like hardly anything to complain about now. First the obvious lack of budget with the MV being so much lazier than anything for Limelight, and then all the awful news coming to light…I really hope they can find a new space for themselves. They deserve so much better, and the sound they built for both Limelight and Madein is so promising. That being said, have to disagree with you just a bit on DADARIDA, although it's mostly personal preference, haha. The intro throws me off every time no matter how much I listen to it, and although the production is fascinating, the song I feel like has the most potential is absolutely DOPAMINE. It's just so soft and floaty and just perfectly captures that feeling of being high on your emotions themselves, of letting yourself go in the wake of a new, exciting love. It should have been longer, but even short as it is, it's been on repeat for me since release (of course, not on streaming sites) Huge +1 to the KAVE shoutout! So many of their songs (but especially Stone, You, and Legend) have been filling the void in my soul of hard-hitting Ateez that's been empty since Not Okay…don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of all the GH2 b-sides, but I need another all-encompassing, anthemic (Korean) title that you can just get lost in-we (arguably) haven't had one for now over TWO YEARS…how you could drop the best song ever and just walk away is beyond me, even though I am glad they're trying new things out! Come back to me soon though :') And here I thought I was advanced in the nugu department! The Domino mention is absolutely deserved, and now I'm just wishing I'd heard it earlier…really fun list as a whole! I think the only spots where I disagree are just where I really couldn't vibe with the production…looking at you Accendio…I can understand it but that doesn't mean I can listen to it even though the post-chorus gets stuck in my head no matter what-my ears unfortunately just can't take that brash of a sound A few songs I feel like I have to shout out, because they all got stuck in my head this year one way or another: Sanha's Bleeding, MIRAE's Running Up (so sad that they're gone), LUN8's Pastel, ONEWE's Off Road (I love XH, but this had to be my favorite K-rock song from 2024), DXMON's Spark, and June Green's Thread-speaking of long K-pop songs! It's almost 5 minutes and ethereal and absolutely gorgeous. They deserve all the love. I'm glad you took your time in coming back! Hope you're settling in well~ It was such a joy to see you in my notifications once again <3 P.S. Congrats on seeing your two ults this year! I was lucky enough to see both tours as well and they were just as great as I expected :)

I remember where I was, what I was feeling when Shooting Star came out. I told myself that disbandment or no, I wouldn’t cry. The pure silence hits and Xiaoting is just priming me with glittery vocals and a camera shutter before getting slammed into a chorus. Welling up at this point, but I’m not crying though! Rap line eats, Youngeun does a similar job as Xiaoting, second chorus hits and I’m just enjoying the vibes. Oh lord that bridge, I was welling up even harder as the final prechorus goes, holding back so many tears. And then Kim Chaehyun decides to rip my heart out of my chest with that high note into the final chorus. No song this year made me BAWL like Shooting Star did.

Definitely agree with your points on Xikers. And as someone who finally got into K-Pop because of Dreamcatcher (I flirted with it before but never committed) and because ATEEZ is group that made boy groups click seeing Xikers journey so far has been cool to see. And yes the point on the use of ATEEZ made me laugh but I do agree.

First pick being XH, including Bittersweet and Kave, and introducing me to Lee Seungyoon, makes this automatically the GOAT of year-end lists. Period. Even tho they're pretty successful by kband standards, XH are still criminally underrated imo and often stuck in this grey zone where kpop fans ignore them bc they don't dance but non-kpop fans don't take them seriously bc they're on a kpop label and often styled\promoted like a kpop group. Love & Fear was an instant like for me too. Tho, as a longtime metalhead who spent their teen years in the 2000s and played the Underworld and Queen Of The Damned soundtracks on repeat, iNstead absolutely floored me. But I understand it's an acquired taste for most. I just happened to have acquired it 20 years ago in a hot topic lol. I found Kave before I'd even heard of Gaho, so guess I went about that backwards lol. But i've had them on repeat for weeks now and finding Kave sent me down a yt rabbit hole that resulted in me adding like 20 songs to my krock playlist. Kardi, Dragon Pony, The Fix, Synsnake, and Lucy have been my absolute fav music discoveries this year.

hello, professional classical vocalist/opera major here! i appreciate a lot of what you said but and i realize this was uploaded 8 months ago but i personally think that you are really downplaying his live-singing and pitch accuracy in your analysis. not sure whether this is because you haven't watched a ton of fan-recorded cams from tour performances or non-music show performances, but his consistency is up there among the members. i understand that you are right about the dvds and certain shows editing vocals to showcase only the best, but there are hundreds of videos of his raw vocals before backtrack is upped in post where he is not only singing with full support but also very in tune! i hope in the future his abilities as a main dancer as well as vocalist (while dancing) can be better showcased in analysis videos like this. on another note, you're allowed to do whatever you want with your channel of course, but i suggest that if you aren't a professional then you shouldn't say that you are able to "speak on" vocals as if they are facts. overall though, a lot of what you pointed out is pretty accurate apart from terminology!!
