I think confusion on progression is the biggest complaint. At least I think it is. In my last video "part 2", I went over the progression again. That does not help you now, but yeah, having distilled water is a feature that is later game. The classes are mainly built around weapons. It is a pity you guys struggled getting your starter class.

Things slow down when there are no updates. I was planning to do a end year one in December, but got sick, then my wife and daughter got sick after me, so I announced on my discord that I would likely see everyone in the new year. So, I plan to do one now in January, but it is really just a recap and maybe a new mod announcement or so. Besides half the mods moving to version 1.2, nothing much has happened. The same mods that had not released for v1, still have not released.

@voodooaa Yes, you could unlock all classes. That would not be too difficult, especially as some primitive weapons are for multiple classes. So, half the class book would be obtained when opening other classes. However, it would be very difficult on normal class experience gain to level all of them. You need to get to level 6 of a class before you can move to another class and still keep the previous classes' skills and aura. So, opening all classes is one thing but leveling them all to a higher enough level to be useful is where the problem lies.

@@SnowBee True, I'm at day 47 or so, and I've just gotten my main class to 10 and my 2ndary class to 4 :)

Haha, well, I have not played for a while now, but have revisited it a two or three times over the years. I did buy Ascended and played that a few months after launch. I think I would put Ark down as one of the best games I have enjoyed, bugs and all. :)

@Petrotech007 That depends. It can be a much nicer slower playstyle. Make sure you use a small map, like 4k, 6k at the most.

@josephcombs8217 Yes, good question. I noticed something like that during my testing, but i put down to me swapped and changing classes very often. I also thought defensive just didn't give them. Let me see what I can find.

@ I personally think this was the intended defensive perk and then the offensive one would increase damage, speed and so on. However you can spam your trainers and have tons out at once. I’m sure it’s something he knows about but wasn’t sure if you found similar things. Thanks again for all the great content!

Yeah, there is no indication that it is a bug. Defensive is supposed to knock down surrounding enemies and bring in the trainer. It also increases attack speed, improves stamina regeneration, increases carrying capacity, and you can jump higher. When you use it, do these also happen still? Run faster only happens if your health is very low for defensive rage. I thought run faster was something you always get, as is probably why I thought it was not working.

@@SnowBee dang! It did all those things in the beginning but after awhile it only brought out the trainer. The only time I get those buffs is with the capsule/ offensive rage. Maybe I can try the defensive one with low health and see if it works any better. I’m also going to select the mod and re load it and see if that helps. Def weird because it’s tough playing him without the perks working correctly. I’ll keep you posted with what I find. Thanks brother

With the most recent experimental B18, seems to be all on par. There are some changes, but the main features are the same for now. DF is still not stable yet, and may still change. Sorry for the late response, I actually started a reply yesterday on my phone, but then got distracted and only noticed now :)

I agree the water is a major challenge in the first few weeks. However, I didn't mind the challenge. It is a struggle, and it certainly is the most difficult I have experienced. The only thing that I find annoying is the constant zombies that are often around and feral mechanic that seems to be be in play most of the time. Otherwise, the challenge is something I don't mind.

Yeah, the pronunciation of the "i" sound. Usually only Americans ironically have an issue. Owing to this I have tried to change the way I say the "i" sound quite often.

I assume you have seen my more recent one? I did three video guides, one of them was also on irrigation and hydroponics. That is more accurate as hydroponics replaced underground farming for now.

@nas8807 Using the primitive melee weapons categories of balded and blunt. See the tips videos after this. However, it is mentioned in this video. Same as the other classes just only melee weapons, not melee and ranged.

Well, I do think it does a good job at keeping you on your feet and not being completely immune to death in the later game. The Misery feature and added hordes is no slouch once you get to higher levels. Certainly does keep you from becoming too op'd.

@Vaughanthomas1000 No idea about the traders, i also looked on the RB discord and didn't see anything. I assume you have not adding any POI mods? Is your base a previous POI that you upgraded?

@trickster1383 You increase your class xp with your weapons, or your weapon expertise books. I explain it more in the part 2 or dev video I did about two weeks ago.

That is from the "I Am Legend" overhaul, a mod by Hells Janitor.

Check my two tips and tricks videos, I break it down again. The second one emphasizes stuff that Ramsay has had questions on. There is Genetics (like strength and dexterity), which is where the red booster or injectors come in. That has little to do with class as such. Under here you can buy perk books, such as mother lode or pack mule from Briston. Then there is Class (like Hunter, Butcher, Soldier), which is first started by reading a class book. The class book is crafted from paper, with two halves. You obtain the two halves by using a melee weapon and a ranged weapon (except for Berserker). Both are primitive weapons (like a pipe weapon). The second video I did emphasizes this more, it is my most recent video. It has a lot of content that Ramsay felt was being missed by players.

Yes! That is a good observation. I had someone complain about dying in the first week owing to deadly animals. Yeah, it is an apocalypse and it does have animals you should try avoid. Does certainly put an edge on your exploring.

That would be great, unlikely, but certainly would be great for the game in general and all players.

Hi Steven. Sorry for the late reply, been sick the past few days. Well, one can also argue without the base "crappy" game there would not be anything to mod :) Of course, that doesn't mean I don't agree with you, but I do think the base game has provided pretty good base to start with. I just wish we were further into features, but owing to TFP often screwing with good working features or changing them, we still are affectively in alpha.

Haha :) Well, if you are being serious, then the HP is hollow point. However, in 7D2D, they changed it to High Power, or Hi Power. Great for fleshy non armoured targets... in real life and in the game. I never mentioned Lucifer as I tend to only do full update videos for DF when it goes stable. Khaine releases new stuff over his many experimental updates, so mentioning them takes away from the stable info release. Also, the DF crew tend to me quite negative to spoiler releases. So, Lucifer was quite new... I chose not to say anything for now. Another issue is Khaine may change Lucifer. I doubt it, but he just may, owing to the perception that Lucifer should actually look like the Demon Lord. However, Khaine went with mythology and Lucifer does not look like the Demon Lord.

Silver I believe can be occasionally found when mining Galena. However, gold, I think it is just random with a small chance of getting it. It has been a while, so I don't really remember where I found mine, which I why I think it was completely random while mining other ores.
