    Excellent tutorial. I have looked at several videos on this and yours is the easiest to wrap my head around. BTW, isn't it a fountain rather than a cascade you are referring to?

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 2 дні тому

      Thank you very much! I really appreciate it! Good catch with the terminology, too- I think of cascades and fountains as being the same general concept (minus switching hands) and often forget to distinguish between the two! Much appreciated, I'll be more mindful of how I refer to them 🙏🏻👊🏻

    540 cat and rudy ball are eternally cool

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 3 дні тому

      And so different in difficulty level, at least for me- the 540 cat always feels like it has to feel "wrong" to get the right amount of rotation, if that makes sense, whereas the Rudi ballout is just a full porpoise then I stare at the tramp and do nothing 😂🤷🏻‍♂

  • @Alex-mc8ru

    Do you have a tutorial on Rudi ballout?

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 4 дні тому

      Not yet, but I will make one. There are three different ways you can approach it- Rudi timing (540 twist over the top), Jonah- full, or my personal preference: full up barani. I would argue that none of them is inherently right or wrong, it’s just what feels the most natural to you

      Hard to know for sure how you're winding up on your neck without seeing it, but chances are you're bringing your knees too close to your chest while on your back then kicking too vertically and/or not keeping your neck muscles engaged. Hope that helps!

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat

      This facility is pretty one of a kind, but there might be something like a trampoline park, gymnastics gym, or small circus studio near you! I absolutely understand the frustration and difficulty of teaching yourself- I was in the same boat for most of my career, and it definitely made things take much longer/led to needless injuries. Based on your name, I'm assuming you live in Leiden, Netherlands- if so, good news: there are a few tramp parks and gymnastics gyms 🙃🙃🙃

    These are great! Have actually been practicing these front drop setups the last few weeks. Ive been doing the airplane but making experimenting with this alot by adding a full twist to then landing and trying to spin around the landing zone in 90 degree increments. Loves these advanced basics. Please do more like this, I love your beginner stuff because your variations are fiendishly difficult but still possible.

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 19 днів тому

      Nice! The 90 degree increments will come in super handy, especially for getting familiar with the feeling of cruises and tricks of that ilk. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, there are two more to come (thus far) with intermediate and advanced front drop setups. I'll be honest, though- difficulty is a weird, subjective thing. I find the seat drop and cat twist 180 in this video waaaaay harder to control than ostensibly harder tricks like front full 1 1/4 to stomach.

    My legs tend to stay bent for the duration of the pop, is it okay to not have your legs fully extended for the pops?

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 22 дні тому

      You can totally do tucked pops with your knees bent, most people just find them scarier at first. The only concern I would have is making sure you finish pushing through your top foot, which tends to extend my leg as I leave the wall. If that's not happening, you're probably missing out on a decent amount of potential height and power.

  • @ElalacranHf
    @ElalacranHf 23 дні тому

    I discovered the tramp wall earlier this year and your videos have been a game changer for me. Love it so much, thank you for making these tutorials! Could you do a video for a backflip transfer? *not sure if that’s the name of the trick, running up one wall, backflip to running down the other wall*

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 22 дні тому

      I'm glad the videos are helping! I'll be honest, backflip transfer isn't one of my stronger tricks, but I'll try to train them more and see what I can do 🙃 they're mostly about timing and fear, just like everything else on the wall

    • @ElalacranHf
      @ElalacranHf 22 дні тому

      Def could use your progression/drills on it! Appreciate the tips, fear is definitely a factor where I feel I need more height to stop missing the wall.

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 21 день тому

      @@ElalacranHf It could be height or it could be lateral direction as you push off the wall. Hard to say without seeing a video. I suppose if you have an unenclosed trampwall or a wall on the short side you could always try doing a walking back and pushing as far outward as possible, then see how that distance compares to what you'd have to travel in a transfer 🤓

    • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat
      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat 25 днів тому

      @@freedomrunner22 The best advice I could give would be to take things slowly and progressively add height (to walls, to bouncing) as incrementally as possible. For example, at the gym where I train there are 6', 8', and 10' trampwall ledges, but there are also blocks of different heights that can be attached to the top to create 7', 9', 11' and so on :) I hope that helps! Some of my friends who perform crazy high aerial and trampwall acts for Cirque du Soleil also have a fear of heights- I hope you can master your fears too! 👊🏻🙃

      @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat Місяць тому

      There's a small irresponsible part of me that wants to say "not necessaaaaaaarily..." BUUUUT I would 10000% recommend being able to double pull first, both because it's going to help you feel the correct amount of takeoff power but also since if you mess up you're gonna find yourself trapped in a double pull, haha. That said, good news- a double pullover is physically easier than a double back tuck from feet to feet in the same way that a regular pullover is easier than a back tuck, it's just weird at first due to the lack of set.
