Former Cirque Du Soleil acrobat on a journey to try everything and help others learn cool tricks!
When I began learning acrobatics, there were no real resources out there, so I'm trying to create them and help others learn as safely and efficiently as possible.
That said, please remember that all acrobatics come with a certain degree of inherent danger- please train safely and responsibly- anything you choose to do is at your own risk and I am in no way liable for your decisions or actions.
While I might give tips for how these skills work, you should absolutely train under the supervision of an experienced coach in a safe environment whenever possible- videos might be helpful, but they are not a substitute for proper coaching!
With that in mind, I also teach private, semi-private, and workshop lessons. Please contact me for details!

3 Common Cody Mistakes (And How to Fix Them)!
Hey everyone!
These mistakes tend to happen all at the same time rather than individually, but it's important to clearly understand each aspect of the skill.
I hope this helps, and as always, please train safely and responsibly!

Beginner Trampwall Tips: Which Wall Run Stance Should You Use?
Переглядів 81519 годин тому
Hey everyone! I hope this is helpful- it can be a bit counterintuitive, especially if you're already used to twisting and tumbling, but ideally you want to lead with the leg you twist AWAY from. In other words, if you twist left, you should have your right foot on top, and vice versa. As you get more advanced and comfortable on the wall, you can absolutely bend or break these rules to get more ...

Happy New Year, folks! These ones are a lot of fun; the shape changes require a bit more patience and confidence than simply staying extended (in a lay or half lay position) and they're excellent drills for developing your kickout on trampoline. Please let me know which variations were your favorites in the comments below! I'm partial to the Thread one, surprise surprise 😂 The music is Anmon- D...
Backflip to Stomach on Trampoline Tutorial (AKA Back 3/4 or Lazy Back)
Переглядів 363Місяць тому
Hey everyone! This trick is a major milestone for increasing air awareness, control, and confidence on trampoline. It can be done in countless different body shapes, but this particular video focuses on an open half lay position for the sake of simplicity. Many thanks to @Hingaflips for the mat throws! As usual, the music is Anmon- Discotheque. Check out his other work here: soundcloud.com/anmo...

I think you should challenge Pavel Stankevych to do this.
Everyones mind is going wiiieeeeee
Yeeeeee!
I think your hardest is definitely one arm straight handstand.
I promise this one was much, much, much harder 🙃 maybe not for someone else, but then again, I’ve never seen another person do this pose with the arm against their side, while I’ve seen thousands of one arm straights 🤷🏻♂️ guess it’s all subjective, though!
Anatoliy Zalievsky invented this and slide back up from this. Can you slide back up? Need socks for that.
@@nottellyoumyname I can indeed 🙃 I’ll post a video of it sometime. In the meantime, I think you’ll enjoy the short I just posted!
You make it look way too easy. It is so many times harder than what you make it look💀
Perfect one arm straight handstand💀? I can only dream of this. Did you ever perform handbalance?
Thank you! It’s all just a process. Yes, it was my job for a while, but compared to the greats like Denys Tolstov, Andrii Bondarenko etc I’m just some guy, haha
@@ScottMcDonaldAcrobat Pavel Stankevych, Anatoliy Zalievsky.
Do you have any tips to help me extend my hips to open tuck planche?
I'm still working on all this stuff myself, but maybe this will be helpful- I always thought of planche as being an upper body exercise, but the more I do them, the more I find myself flexing EVERYTHING. My butt, my legs, all of it. I also find that using parallettes helps this since I can squeeze them to death and get a bit more muscular engagement with my forearms and hands. With that in mind, isometrics and other exercises for the glutes, hamstrings and lower back have been really helpful, like laying on a block with my upper body and lifting my lower body into the position I'm holding here. I hope that helps!
@@ScottMcDonaldAcrobat Thank you a lot.
I have to wear long sleeves for this trick. Is there a way to do it without using the forearms
It is possible to do a cody without your arms, but it's much harder and riskier. I assume you're getting friction burns on the inside of your elbows- this, unfortunately, happens with any front drop skills, but the skin does develop resistance to it with time and practice. The abrasiveness of the trampoline will also play a role; different beds will burn you less or more. If it's warm out and impractical to wear long sleeves, I sometimes wear fabric elbow braces or sweatbands to avoid any unpleasant burns.
@ScottMcDonaldAcrobat thanks for the reply, i will try using sweatbands 😁👍
The thumbnail currently is good, but you had an even BETTER one at 1:05. That freezeframe is sooooo hilarious and the graphics make it perfect
That awkward moment when the rapture begins while you're mid flip 😂
“ and watch the world go by”
*in a very quick blur 🙃🤓
Great tips! But yes - please make a detailed Cody tutorial!
Thank you! Will do. I'm going to put out a few more single-concept videos about it in the meantime!
Hi, I like your tutorial very much, it helps me a lot. But I have a problem, that is, when I did the front drop incorrectly, my neck was injured several times, which made me have a psychological shadow and fear of the front drop, which leads me fail in this trick, and sometimes I get hurt again because I want to succeed too much. So I want to ask you how to overcome psychological fear. Thank you.
Hi there! I would highly recommend finding a trampolining coach who can help you relearn it under in-person safe supervision! The most important thing with any acrobatic skill is safety, and fear can be a very subjective thing. Just remember that there is no race to learn and skill, and rushing the process can backfire by leading to unnecessary injuries and fear, so please be safe and patient- there is no downside to learning a skill thoroughly and gradually 🙃👍🏻
@ thank you for your reply!
So it's not my job to train clumsily to force grow muscle to torture my tendons and support an abusive industry that pretends weight gain means strength ? I'm allowed to play aroud and notice things instead ? Brillinat !. Thank's Scott, the other story is really well promoted and other than making work for unskilled physios and surgeons achieves nothing other than attacking our mental health from every angle. It's always a delight to see how it's actually done, cheers my man :) Oh, maybe sing or make up a peom as you go, monkeys chatter you know, noone told them not to, they rarely get in their own way.
Cool
Thank you!
I twist right and run with my left foot on top, but I switch them for swans, swan fulls, baranis, and rudies.
Interesting! When you roundoff, which foot is in front? I'd be curious if it was the same or opposite from your swan variations. I love hearing everyone's different configurations; in my mind this stance config makes life easiest for beginners but it's definitely not a "THIS IS THE ONLY WAY" approach, especially as people get more advanced and comfortable 🤘🏻🤓🤘🏻
@ScottMcDonaldAcrobat I've always been doing roundoff off my right foot. I was taught to do it this way when I was a gymnast because it worked well for my right twisting backs. But funny enough, if I do a barani from the top, I do it left twisting, just because it's like a roundoff without arms.
@@jeremilewandowski9279 Interesting! I've also seen a lot of people who do their barani ballout in their roundoff direction, then default to the other twist direction for their front full and rudi ballouts.
I've done that for everything before, but I "fixed" it, and now it's just for the drop in barani.
Left twist + left turn gang unite!
You know it!
Request for a cradle (in the bed) tutorial! :D
You got it! I've been working on exactly that for the last few months, but I think I've finally found the best way to put it together 😅😅
Switch stance is wonky but it works 😐👍
Yeeee. I found it really difficult to progress beyond cradles etc at first because of my stance relative to my twist. Funnily enough, though, I can walking barani from either stance since I don’t begin to twist until I’ve fully left the wall 🤷🏻♂️
I theorize that trying walking rudi and randy from switch stance is easier , as it looks like an a-twist in free running which feels more powerful than the alternative. Needs more experimentation but I thought that might be interesting
@ it might feel interesting! I know most of the bigger twists I’ve seen were from a normal stance configuration but I’m all for experimenting and getting creative once people have a good degree of control 🤓 I’m just making this one for beginners who might not realize why it’s awkward for them to enter a flare from switch stance etc (which was absolutely me 15 years ago) ☺️
@ I also love the idea of using unorthodox stances to do tricks like wrap fulls etc on the wall, gotta keep things interesting 🙌🏻

Can you please make tutorial on 540 kick also please
I definitely will at some point, but it will probably be a while- in the meantime, I highly recommend checking out Kojo's Trick Lab for some wonderful tricking tutorials!
I love it when islay shows up. I recommend tilting the camera a little lower next time
Thank you and will do! 🙃
Scott stuff
@@keungzhe hahaha 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Idk if you’ll see this but I need walking rudi tips I have walking barani but don’t know any preps for rudi other than throwing it and rudi to back on the tramp
Hey! I’ll be honest, walking Rudi is not my forté, but I will say this- there are a bunch of different ways of timing the twist. As you say, Rudi to back on the tramp, getting increasingly closer to the wall and pullovering out of it, would be an option. I think one of the most important things for the trick self is setting and not panic-rushing the twist, which would make it easy to get lost
I can barely do a handstand without having to walk 😂no way I can do any of these without a wall
Hahah, just gotta treat it like standing on the floor- align your joints by stacking them vertically, don't arch your back, extend your legs and keep the weight more towards your fingertips so you can actively push your fingers into the floor and resist moving forwards 👊🏻
Rodeo is diabolical
It’s a spooky one, but I find the thread technically harder 🤓
THE FULLL
It's a fun one; think Arabian 3/4-watch the bed-barani to stomach and try not to flip too hard!
This I gotta try
Could you refer a good site to buy handstand cane? Any make a video about it? Is spring handstand cane good for intermediate hand balancing? Thanks❤❤
Hi there! The canes I'm using in this video are these ones: www.renegadejuggling.com/play-hand-balance-board I love how portable they are. It's also very easy to build your own canes in roughly an hour, which allows you to make variable heights. I can make a video on how to do that at some point, but I think there are already some on UA-cam. I've never used a spring handstand cane, but I think it would be especially helpful for being a hand to hand flyer since that's a little more inherently unstable than balancing yourself on the floor or canes
We used to call it turtle full
Hip rotations look craaaaaazzyyy
They're quite fun!
Yes dude all for more handbalancing content! Maybe something about how you manage to train so many different disciplines as well? Esp with handbalancing which seems to degrade so quickly when not done often and much of it.
Can do! Cheers Sam!
I want to be a circus athlète can you give me tips for legs dance and position, where do you Côme from?
Bonjour Pierre! I'm not sure if I correctly understand what you wanted tips with, but if you want to be a performing circus artist, learning to dance would absolutely be very helpful! Almost every role in every show involves some dancing and acting. I am from Canada but currently live in Las Vegas.
