US Naval Ship Tours in Buffalo
We visited the Buffalo and Erie Country Naval & Military Park to take tours of the USS Sullivans, USS Little Rock, and USS Croaker. The tours did NOT disappoint. The park is located on the waterfront in Buffalo, NY and we visited on a particularly beautiful day. There's a lot to do and see in Canalside so if you ever visit make sure you walk around. There are also some great restaurants down there. We stopped at Liberty Hound (located right at the Naval Park) and had a great lunch.

MOTHERS Polish to Clean Headlights
Переглядів 28519 годин тому
We found a really easy and cheap way to restore old, foggy, yellowed headlights. In just minutes, our headlights went from needing to be replaced to looking almost like new. This is a great way to keep older headlights going a little longer but to give your car a cleaner look. Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish: tinyurl.com/29vc436a
The GREAT New York State Fair 2024
Переглядів 67014 днів тому
We went to the Great New York State Fair again this year and it did not disappoint. We made the short drive to Syracuse, NY and had a great time. Unfortunately, we went towards the end so we missed out on some things that were only there at the beginning. Luckily, no matter when you go, there is always plenty to see and do! It may be too late for you to visit this year, but make plans for next ...
NEW TRAIL at the Wild Center - Tupper Lake, NY
Переглядів 102Місяць тому
The Wild Center has a new trail! The Fen Trail has tons of different ball roll activities. You can buy a ball for $6.00 or rent one (worth it to buy!) and then make your way down the trail and back rolling your ball through all the different chutes and slides. It's a lot of fun and even really little kids were enjoying it. The trail is 1.2 miles round trip and you have to come back the same way...
Paddling Antique Guideboat and Canoe at the Adirondack Experience
Переглядів 331Місяць тому
We went to the Adirondack Experience to visit their boat house and to try out an antique guideboat and canoe. The guideboat took quite a bit for John to get the handle of paddling. It also felt slightly tippy (it was not going to tip) because it's made to carry tons of weight because people used them to move a lot of gear or animals after hunting trips, etc. It was a really fun experience and o...

We visited the Adirondack Experience for the first time (and have been several more times since!) and had such a great time - it was like being at Disney World. There is so much to see that we couldn't really do it justice in a short video, but we hope it entices you to visit sometime and see it for yourself. Not shown in the video, but the cafe at the museum has a 5 star BLT. Adirondack Experi...
Guided Canoe Trip at The Wild Center
Переглядів 222Місяць тому
After a recent visit to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, we saw there was a guided canoe trip on the Raquette River that was available to visitors (you do have to pre-book). We booked the next available trip! It was a lot of fun. The paddling wasn't too strenuous and they provided everything you need. It was an additional cost but worth the money. We'd recommend booking it if you plan to be maki...

Part 2 of our AuSable Chasm adventures! This video is all about the Adventure Trail. With harnesses and helmets we made our way across bridges and alone the sheer sides of the gorge walls! This was an amazing experience that if you have the ability, you should do! Like they say in the description, this is NOT your average ropes course. Stihl HSA 56 Hedge Trimmer Review
Переглядів 1982 місяці тому
We review the Stihl HSA 56 battery powered hedge trimmer. It's another good one from Stihl. You can't buy the lubricant/cleaning spray in NYS anymore but if you manage to get a can it will probably last a while (unless you trim a lot of bushes).
Stihl BGA 57 Blower Review
Переглядів 5102 місяці тому
We have another battery operated Stihl product to share! This time we're talking about the Stihl BGA 57 battery powered blower. It's great! Lightweight and easy to use. It won't blow a ton of wet leaves but if you have smaller yard projects it's perfect. We use it mostly to blow the driveway off and clean out the gutters on the house.
Au Sable Chasm Pt. 1: Hiking and Rafting

We went to Au Sable Chasm and did the premium package which allowed us to hike the Inner Sanctum Trail, take a raft down the river, and then do the Adventure Walk. This video shows the Inner Sanctum and River Float, you'll have to wait for Part 2 for the Adventure Walk! Au Sable Chasm: www.ausablechasm.com/

Volunteer Weekend Spring 2024
Переглядів 1003 місяці тому
As members of Great Camp Sagamore, we got the opportunity to participate in a volunteer weekend. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. The people who donate their time and talents to Sagamore are incredible and we felt lucky to have met them and work side-by-side with them. We highly recommend visiting Great Camp Sagamore for either a tour or a for a stay. Links for information and ways t...

8th Natural Wonder of the World (Winter Visit)
Just bought one yesterday ! Not that powerful but very handy for small jobs!
I was in the Philippines when the Frank Evans was hit. I still have a picture of the half of the ship they brought back to Subic Bay.
@steveneldred8928 that's an incredible story! thanks for sending the pic!!
Mother's works as a lightweight haze remover. But, if you have heavy oxidation or a peeling clear coat to remove, you'll have to go through a complete sanding process and a high-speed polish with a buffer. I've been polishing headlights for many years. Mother's is a good product though.
Going in October can’t wait!
@johnspears-cs4sd Awesome!!! I hope you have a good trip! We're going in October too but I can't remember what we booked 😆😆
@@northcountryexplorers sweet!!
@@northcountryexplorers how long did it take for them to email your ticket info?
@johnspears-cs4sd I believe you just get a confirmation then when you get to the train station you get in line for you boarding pass. that's what we did for the ride in the video and that's how our current confirmation email reads
I went Sunday. They did a Great Clean up after Saturdays Flooding. Heard They Closed early Sunday. We left just after 7 P.M. they where open to at least 8. Prices are way to high. You could tell most people where not buying much. as they have in the past. It was a disappointment on many levels. Exceptions are the Animals.
@julianneavery6995 We saw pictures of the flooding from Saturday. It's great they were able to get it cleaned up. Crazy. Prices were kind of high. You used to be able to find lots of places selling water for $1. I think $2 was the cheapest I saw this year. The animals never disappoint!!
So who was driving home😜 enjoy your videos
@@dianecote6241 I drove! 😆 we waited a few hours after our last drink before we left. better safe than sorry. thanks for watching!!
I'm going again today 5th time
@alanwilliamson6421 it's always such a good time!! I wish we had time to go back this year.
Check out Hammondville ghost town in town of Crown Point, highest grade iron ore in the Adirondacks , International Lead owners the site you are on today, if need for Lead goes up will be put into operation!
Thanks for the tip!
That looks fun!
Thanks. Very helpful! See you on the trails!
Lily likes your videos!
@@philrock367 maybe some day she'll get to be in one!
The man in the diagram who you say is using a bellows was actually cleaning out the air pipe. The "bellows" were attached to the wheel pit near the river. You are exploring the Village of Adirondac (no "C") not Tahawus. Tahawus was where the 1940's titanium mine was. The MacNaughton house is from the 1840's, and is the only structure left from the MacIntyre Iron Works day. The other houses are not. They were built mostly over the foundations of MacIntyre homes, but built by the Tahawus Club, the first hunting fishing club in the Adirondacks, between 1900 and 1930. I live neat here and thought you'd like to know. One of the better videos I've seen of this place!
Thanks! That's great information :)
Some friendly advice. Spend more time showing the astate!!!!not you two!. I didn't click on this video too see you two I clicked on to see sagamore witch I barely got to see!!!!!!!!!!!!😠😠😠
I'm sorry this video wasn't what you were looking for. This was more about our experience at the volunteer weekend and less about the campus. We do have another video from when we did a tour last year and that shows more of the buildings.
I read about Anne LaBastille from your link in the description. What an interesting woman!
So when are you planning to buy one (canoe) of your own?
@wildernesscanoeassociation we're looking! we've had a few in the past but are looking for a super lightweight one now. those cost a lot more so we haven't picked one up yet.
What happens when the line is 99% used and you want to reload with new. Yours was empty so it was easy to insert new line.
@richardc6932 you have to have it empty to reload. so you have to use all the string or if you have a little left in you'll have pop off the white collar and take the leftover out.
Nope nope and nope to the wire bridges😂😂😂I enjoy your videos!
@@dianecote6241 I'll do heights but not small spaces. Thanks for watching!!
😮😮😮😮😮😮 my palms are sweating. The scariest part for me would have been walking along the wall. That looked impossible! Great video!
You de-burred with grinder without saftey glasses. Took friend to ER because did same thing on metal and got a piece of long metal in his eye. Just missed blinding him for good in one eye. Was horrible. Wear goggles please. Good video otherwise. I still have my DK2 in crate. Yet to put it together. 😂
Yes!! You're right about the safety glasses!
One thing to add... removing the white plastic band altogether, I found helps in the operation of the trimmer, and makes it easier to add line when needed
we'll have to give that a try! thanks for the tip 😊
we'll have to give that a try! thanks for the tip😊
Thanks I was struggling before watching the video
Thanks for the video. Good Info provided.
So today, I bought the OPC513 version. It seems to be almost identical to yours. The motor is a Kohler RH265. As I'm now putting it together and reading through, I noticed that in the manual it says to use mid-grade or higher gasoline! I wish that they put that on the outside of the box or in the offers on sites. I would not have bought this if that was a must. So I'm wondering, do you use mid-grade or have you tried it with regular gas? if so, did it seem to run ok? Thanks in advance. *UPDATE: I've been using regular gasoline since day one and it works just fine.*
we only use non-ethanol gas in all our small engine machines. the dk has a kohler rh265 motor also but the gas cap says 10% ethanol max which is 87 gas so you should be fine.
@@northcountryexplorers oh thanks for that! I hadn't noticed that on the cap. It is there. Also, there's a little sticker on the tank itself that shows 2 little gas pump icons. One, with no red circle/line through it, says, E0-E10 while the one with the red circle/line says E15-E85. I'm taking that to mean just what you said there. E10 max is fine. I wonder why the danged book says to use "mid grade or higher!"... I dislike things that are not clear to some of us. LOL I'm almost ready to fire the thing up. I'll probably only put a couple of cups of gas in it as the gas is over a year old. I keep gas for the generators. Tomorrow, I can buy some fresh gas to really try out this thing. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.
@@BlondieSL have fun chipping!!
@@northcountryexplorers Well that was something. LOL Yes, it ran just fine on old, regular gas. As expected, it's very noisy, but it sure ate what I gave it without a problem. Fortunately, too, it's not as big as I thought it was going to be. So it'll be easier to store. Take care.
@BlondieSL that's great it working out! we have helmets with ear protection and face shields on them. I don't like to be around this stuff without ear protection either!!
Why do they remove the doors for winter? What takes their place for winter?
I believe they remove the doors to help them stay in good working condition - less exposure to the elements. They put plain doors up in their place.
I have a big yard I wonder if it would work for me
We have just under half an acre and we can get about half done with two batteries. If you don't mind taking a break to wait for them to charge (or have more than two batteries) you'd have no problem. If it's a lot bigger than half an acre it would probably not be a good choice.
Great review!
Thanks
Pretty lakes
I'd say that the trail is not safe.
It was one of the harder ones we've ever done. Lots of scrambling up rocks. As sketchy as it seemed, it's a really well traveled one. We passed a lot of people on it. I did find myself wondering what would happen if one of us twisted an ankle (or worse).
That looked very scary 😮. Did you see many people coming down as you were going up? How do you know you are on the right path? Some of It looked impassable to me! Yikes!!!
It was tricky! The trail is pretty well traveled so we could see lots of footprints. And there were markers every so often.
What a great view!
You should come check it out in person!
Amazing engineering of its time. Its a shame these homes are not restored like in Wlilliamsburg.
Agreed! It is a shame the houses couldn't be restored. They were probably in too poor of shape - they were basically collapsed heaps of wood last time we were there.
Ironic that a cool breeze is coming out from a iron furnace.
It felt like air conditioning hahaha
Try Shaving cream
We'll have to try that!
I have lived in Tompkins County my whole life. It never gets old. Gorgeous!
Spectacular!
Editing is very well done. Good job!
Thank you!
I am curious. Is the Antonov AN2 Polish with the N number N87AN? Also great to see a Lark 100. They look like a Cessna 272, but are faster in cruise.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the number on the Antonov. I looked back at all my footage and it doesn't look like I have any where I can read it. I looked on the museum's website but I couldn't make out the number there either. Sorry!!
Hello! Just went yesterday, it is indeed a Polish built AN2.
Thank you so much!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that bottle looks like Rain-X. Did you mean to apply Rain-X Anti-Fog?
You're right, we just used Rain-X because that's what we had. The anti-fog would have been a better one to use!
One of my favorite places!
I can't believe I'd never been before. It was so beautiful! I can't wait to go back and see the other two falls nearby (and to go to Purity Ice Cream in Ithaca).
Thank You!!!
You made it so easy! Thank you!!!
Omg!!! Thank you!!! I did it!!! ❤🎉
You do just want to jump into that beautiful water! Stunning!
Can you bring dogs?
yes leashed dogs are welcome!
What are switchbacks?
I guess technically they are for steep terrain but they are turns in the trail so you're going more parallel to mountain (this was a hill) instead of straight up or down.
Impressive showings from both of you. Way to go!
You guys have a lot of fun!
At first, I thought, "Ooo, fun!" Now I'm just glad you're alive.
Thanks for visiting!!
Looking forward to coming back!
