I just watch this video so it's good to see the Phillies win the series at LA showing that we can win a series against a worthy opponent

This team is done. The problem with the Phillies is age and injuries. Turner, Realmuto, Harper, Castellanos, Nola, Wheeler, and others are all 32 + years old andl have been injured or have life sustainable injuries. The Orioles average age is 25 with 3 rookies starting. They and Cleveland are two of the youngest teams in baseball with the best records. Even the Yankees are younger. Also, the Phillies are not bullt to compete with American League teams. They have been on a slide since the end of June. More important, they do not have a good farm system. I predict after this year this team will be bad for at least a decade.

The Phillies problem is simple. They suck right now because all they want to do is hit the long ball. They all want to be Home Run Heroes consistently. Okay I've seen it time and time again where the Phillies will play a game and they'll have five to seven home runs hit and just that one game. But it was just that one game and they think they can go out and do it every game and that's impossible. If the Phillies are going to prove to me that they are the team that I have loved and have been a fan of since I can remember being the age of 59 now, they're going to have to hit for average an NOT for home runs all the time. Home runs can be great when you have some men on base but it's been sad and very gut-wrenching and disgusting watching my Phillies play the way they've been playing. When they swept the Dodgers two weeks before the All-Star break, I just had the immediate feeling that the bubble is going to pop! And pop the bubble did! They looked past Oakland A's and lost that series. Then the All-Star break with 9 Philadelphia Phillies on the National League All-Star team. This is where the slump began. After the All-Star break they go to Pittsburgh and lose that series. Both the Oakland A's and the Pittsburgh Pirates should have been easy games. They should have won both of those series if not swept both of those teams. All I'm asking of the Phillies is to just win series. Yankees are tough but the Phillies have the ability to beat them. So Yanks swept the Phillies. Right now they are on a tough road trip with three tough teams but that is no excuse for a baseball team that was in first place by nine games consistently most of the season. Yes teams are in slumps but this is pathetic. Harper not hitting? I've seen Harper be out singles and turn them into doubles time and time again because of his hustle. It says if he doesn't give a shit anymore. I understand that pitching has a lot to do with baseball but what's going on with the Phillies not being able to hit is not acceptable even against the best of baseball pitchers. I just knew that this was coming after they swept the Dodgers and that bubble popped. I'm horrified to say this but I don't think the Phillies are going to come back. They're in an uncontrollable downward spiral and we will see within the next 15 games played, Atlanta Braves will be back in first place all due to the Philadelphia Phillies putting their bats down and giving up.

Harper's slump wouldn't be as bad if he'd *hustle* on the bases. He dogs out every fly ball that might fall in, and every grounder. Including the double-plays he hits into to end games. He also needs to swing at strikes, and to go for line drives instead of a 22-run, 700-ft. homer just so he can pimp for the crowd and cameras. He's always been a selfish player. As he ages, that will really show. Another month, and the Phillies' fans will finally wake up to what they've got on their hands.

I wish that we got a more reliable 5th starter that could also be used as a reliever. Phillips has been great but i’m not sure how long he could keep this up. Turnbull was supposed to be that pitcher but injuries are a huge problem

I disagree with the development comment. They have had a lot of misses picking in the first round but they have developed the likes of TJ McConnell, Robert Covington, Jerami Grant, Landry Shamet, Isaiah Joe, Paul Reed who are all solid nba players. They have a talent for picking late/undrafted guys.

I say we get Chas McCormick of the astros. He won’t cost that much and plays elite defense (like Rojas) but he hasn’t hit this year. In years prior and has hit above .250 with 15 homers or more. It’s a huge risk tho
