I’ve just found your channel and enjoying your vlogs. On your comments of marketing the NC500 I think it’s a very fine line between not doing enough and over doing it. I live on the south coast of Dorset and during the summer from Friday lunch time to Sunday evening you cannot move for traffic between the edge of the New Forest (Ringwood) and Dorchester, but without these holiday makers a lot of businesses would struggle to survive, but for those of us who just want to move between places, it makes life so hard. The reason people go to the NC500 is for the amazing scenery and the remote feeling etc, if the tourist board did more the infrastructure would need to grow and it would lose its charm. Without tourists doing the NC500 a lot of the hospitality places would struggle and they’re making money from it and giving work to local people, £100-£200 / night. I regularly stay in London for work and only pay £50-75 a night at “chain” hotels etc. I wonder how much they’d charge or wouldn’t be there if the NC500 wasn’t a thing?

For me this is no use. Anything car play or android auto related twats your phone battery and when I’m on a tour I like my phone battery untouched. As much as I’m a techy, this is technically up my street but isn’t good enough from that standpoint. I’ll stick to my TomTom that’s not reliant on phone signal, data or car play. During my tours I’ve been out of range mobile signal wise more times that I can count and there’s been more then 10 times I’ve tried to google search or google maps my way out of a situation which has been impossible due to the lack of signal. I think what I’m trying to say is that you just can’t beat a dedicated gps unit.

If you can garage it I'd definitely keep it. I think you'd regret getting rid of it come your next long tour especially as you know this bike 'fits' you. Glad to see you got it back in mostly one piece. Looking forward to see what uou decide to do.

Me and my brother did the NC500 at the end of August. Fantastic! Absolutely unbelievable views. Great people. Great food, great hotels. Such a pleasure of a 9-day trip we had and we drove from the south east of England. We had great weather as well. Unbelievably. one day of rain on the way up the rest of the time it was fine 😊, it's one of those trips that I would highly recommend people do at least once, but I'll tell you what, I'm probably going to do it again.

John O' Groats is for the tourists Dunnet head most northerly point and much more worth seeing as there is an old fort and the view is better. You just have to go back and go come back down via Lairg better that the east coast unless you go to Dunrobin

Hi , all you can do is make it harder for the scum. The latest one I’ve come across are wooden trays on casters, put under each wheel and push away, no damage to bike, easy to sell on and remove anti theft devices at leisure. I’ve put trackers on mine.

If you are moving to London, save yourself the grief of having it stolen again. You won’t retrieve it in London as no one is remotely interested in motorcycle thefts especially the MET Police. Trackers won’t help either. Sell it and enjoy the money on something else. It’s a sad state of affairs when this is the type of decision we, as bikers, are having to make.

Hi Jo, just found your channel & sent you a sub, glad you got your bike back mate, hope the thieves got prosecuted & yeah theft is a constant concern for me here in Sweden as well, as I don't have a garage, So she's on the street, So far over 2 seasons nothings happened & I have 4 separate locks on it every night, including a 120db alarm, but I curtain flap every night watching her, Cheers & rude safe

It’s quite simple: if you want a new bike, get it even if that means px-ing the 890 for 4.5k: anyway that’s the correct value in the current climate, I’ve been through it. selling privately you might get a little bit more, or perhaps even be unable to sell with all the bad publicity surrounding ktm at the moment. Yet, If you can keep it and start your collection of 10, do it, don’t px it. (Myself, I’ve decided I’ll never willingly sell a motorbike again.😅)

London is one of the few places motorbike thefts have gone up. Try not to leave it out at night mate. The Litelok are great though 👍

Hope you have somewhere "inside" to park the bike in London. If not "IT WILL" get nicked sooner or later, litelok or not. Sorry to say but true. I wouldn't leave my bike out of sight in London for 2 minutes.

Pleased you got your bike back.Ive had 5 KTMs but truthfully im pleased i do t have one at the moment.I.KTM are trying to tell us customers will not lose out i dont believe that for a minute but i hope im wrong for my fellow bikers sake.

So pleased you got your bike back. I would keep it. Market not great for second hand bikes right now. I have a Transalp and an RE Himalayan. Cheap bike, OK, but I can't resign myself to selling it for, basically half price. Hold on to it. Time will dictate! Take care 😊

Keep it, why let a dealer get the bike for a cheap price when they wouldn’t do it for you, just see you as a pound sign, what bike in comparison too yours could you get for £4500, it would be half the bike you already own..

I’ve had two bikes on the road for a few years and to be honest you only need one.

Id definitely keep the KTM it's a tool for a totally different job than the royal Enfield and for tours the Enfield will do it but nowhere near as well as the KTM.

Out of interest, did the theft and police involvement make this bike registered as CAT N? Heard other UA-camrs say don't put a tracker on your bike unless it's got sentimental value. As even if they steal it and you recover it with police help in 10 minutes, it now a CAT N and worth so much less that your insurance does not cover. Better off never seeing it again and getting a pay out on insurance. Just interested?

If you have the space, keep it. I've got the X1lock fits over the front wheel rim on the Tiger 9RP. I also carry an abus noose chain that I use in conjunction with the X1 if there's a suitable way to secure it to a fixed pole etc.
