@@kings-racing Thanks for the great comment Kings 💯 The design for sure is interesting and yes I am sure it added some turbulence and resistance to the flow. Pros and cons to everything I guess. - Someone on the design/manufacturing team felt that less work/less material removal on the block interior was a big positive. This design may have been driven solely on manufacturing capabilities of the time. - I think the intake timing would still have been consistent yet, the chamber may not have been cleared as consistency each stroke (when compared to a current day engine). For sure the wrist pin would had great lubrication though (mixture is forced to go underneath the piston) I think a transfer port and crank redesign is where the bigger benefits would come into play Nevertheless, the engine highlights an older design that still worked well and with the bigger displacement, still had good power for its time. @@mazpr2025 Thanks for watchn’ and taking the time to write 🩷 Everything has its pros and cons but, I still prefer not to use Lipos/Life packs. The custom NiMh pack I had made for the build works perfect and 6v is still my preferred voltage. So it works out for me atm. Maybe down the road I’ll update the electronics - I think eventually I’ll swap out the engine altogether but, for now it’s fun to keep the original engine in the car. Lots of options for this one It’s nice to know there’s another vintage engine and touring car lover out there. I very much appreciate the support 💯

@a2rc I don't see any downside on Li-fe batteries, they are not like lipos. On a side note, I have a ton of rc airplane engines of all displacements. Whenever you have a chance, if you want of course, measure the diameter and length of the carb neck and I can check w all my engine carbs that have low and high speed needles. If it falls on one that is a cheapie engine as most of them are, I can send it for free, won't cost much. Just something to think about and would be cool how it performs and maybe gives the engine a second new life, he he! (If not is fine, take care)

@ReeceLorencz I appreciate you watchn’ and I’m glad you liked it💯 Left handed pipes with the correct header are getting harder to come by but, a look out on eBay and you can find some - HPI 940, vintage Dynamite pipes, Paris, trinity, etc all work well. I hope that helps a bit 🩷

@@2259alfie If your asking about the “gold” color head then, my understand of them and looking at the exploded views, they are effectively the same engine. - If there is a formal Novarossi orange head (not a RB version) then I’m not aware. - Do you have an orange colored head on yours? @ReeceLorencz Hey Reece 💯 For the most part yes, you can use any 1/10 box but, I would suggest one that has either has a universal set-up or one with a wheel that goes with lengthwise with the box. - An option might be the “Kyosho Multi Starter Box 3.0” which is similar to the vintage OFNA box I use (the 2.0 version is good too, if you can find one). You can set the wheel up either direction. Take a look around, there are a number of good options out there I appreciate you taking the time to write and for watchn’ 🩷

@a2rc you have an rs4 that comes out in the begging of your videos. It's that one.

@ Ahh. If you’re talking about the silver in color RS4 then, that upper deck is a Hard Core Racing (HRC). It is made of titanium. That car had a number of HRC parts on it. - I have not done a full video on that car yet. At times I put a poll on the channels community page for people to vote on which car they want to see next. We just haven’t gotten to the “Silver RS4” yet Hope that helps a bit

It’s being prepped to go in a build 😉 I’m not sure what everyone would want to see as a “room tour” lol. I have two or three hobbies that collide into a small space (plus it’s general work shop). - Unless you were simply asking to see all the cars, in the collection? That could be tough too because a number of them are in various stages of being rebuilt lol (cue the box of parts 😆). I personal believe that my collection of stuff is modest compared to some. @@n00b247 Yeah I have seen the “letter”. Not 100% sure if this is a real thing but, looks like it. I’m still waiting for their official web site to be updated with official information. - If they are closing, I’m not sure this is a good thing for the hobby. They make/made many other companies engines (HPI, etc) and will take away a building block to for younger Nitro Hobbyist. - If they are closing, I hope in time another company will help to fill the void. Yes i doa thanks for asking. my nitro 4-tec just torn it down cleaning it new bearings and new belts, going to change the diff pullys from 32 tooth to 34. hit 78mph with it this summer. My goal is 80! I'm going to make some changes in the suspension. So do u have a winter project?

@@lawrencewinter Hey Lawrence! I’m glad you liked the video💯 Yes you should be able to put a Centax on the RS4. Just make sure that the pinion spacing and pitch works out/is correct. Chassis mounting holes may need some adjustment but, you will have to get it all together to see for sure Im pretty sure HPI made a slide carb conversion for the RS4 3s. You’re welcome to do some digging for a PN but, I can help look for you too if you want. Just let me know. - Also, you can make your own horn and link setup from different parts if you want. Sometimes, being creative is just want we have to do. Have fun with the process I appreciate you watchn’ and taking the time to write 🩷

I think there are possibilities for some engines to cross over (on some components). What I’ve seen so far is that, there is a good chance for small difference which, may not allow a perfect swap. Companies like Novarossi did the same thing to “make components unique” when they developed engines for HPI and others - It’s for sure a great topic to look into more 💯

@@a2rc Yes; novarossi mix inch and metric dimensions for bearings for exemple. In Brazil, for many reasons, unfortunately this parts like sleeve and pistons set are very expansive. There are so much motors that can be revive, like Kyosho gxr 18 and others if we find a almost correct size...if the diference was small, we can do an a thin sleeve, ou miling...i can fin in planet earth the dimensions of this set of force engine 18, to compare....there are thousends of gxr18 for exemple, without parts, kyosho just discontinued everething. @a2rc it's on a losi xxx nt. Bump start. I was able to find a new piston and sleeve. I haven't used it yet. I have a few builds that have never been used. Playing is fun but building is what I enjoy most. Awesome content. Thank you!

@ I kind of feel the same way. I enjoy the building process a lot, especially the engine portion, if you cant tell lol. Bashing, Racing, playing around in a parking lot is great and seems to get a lot more views for people but, I’m a hands on guy and still views the hobby as a fun learning activity. - I have learned a lot from people along the way. I wanted a way to give back to the community so, I was encouraged to start a channel of some type The channel has become an extension of the hobby for me. I like sharing my insight and experience with everyone (I hope it has been helpful and also a little fun?) but, it has taken away or slowed my builds down a great deal. - So I’m trying to find a balance of time between family, work, volunteering, the hobby (my many hobbies lol), etc. as you know, it can be hard to fit it all in at times I’m really happy that, you and many others enjoy the content. My hope is that the channel continues to grow over time. That way I can help/reach out to folks that enjoy the learning and creating side of hobby as much as I do
