While waiting for the Wever Turn Warbonnet's, I settle for imaging Patriot Rail's, KJRY RR pulling the A&B Corn Syrup Refineries at Roquette America's Grain Processing Plant in Keokuk Iowa. A bunch of black tank cars are being moved by KJRY, GP-38-2 #3848.
The Wever Turn Santa Fe Warbonnet's never show up until the next day, pulling 184 cars(mostly empties), up from W. Quincy MO. Another film.
Tonight, instead of the Wever Turn Warbonnet's, BNSF Units ES44C4#6618, C44-9w#1017, and C44-9w#5105 come blowing thru the yard . A power move probably heading for Wever ? Who knows ?

Yesterday was Santa Fe /BNSF day 29 years ago!! And the first day of fall
If a person could have access to those locomotives and a few dozen cans of rubbing compound, it would be nice to clean them up so that red shows up again. But that will never happen, unless a museum gets them.

I am not electronically inclined & just discovered folks were commenting . I think because of the BNSF People I took note of watching at both ends and in the middle , that someone is preparing to ship A LOT of some kind of grain, and until it drops off the old CB&Q - Denver main at Burlington, train length wasn't a problem . From Burlington south , sidings were increased in length in the 70's to accomodate 115 car Coal Trains . 120 grainers just won't quite fit .
Great video of the BNSF along the Mississippi in Keokuk. That is a great BNSF at work with Geeps (one still in Santa Fe paint) and a Dash-8.
We're pretty backwater around here and get whatever moves ! Makes interesting lash-ups . The noise drives me nuts and it smells bad !!!

Being retired and having more time, I have decided to get back to astronomy. Since a little kid I was always interested in rocks and the night sky. Holy cow , I am so sorry I have taken so long to respond ! I had been under the impression I was no longer on UA-cam. Apparently I may only have limited access to a fairly narrow , limited field of products .
You will have to remind me now , at this point , which micro-meteriorites ? I was recently offered a potential opportunity to image the Keokuk Glassy Carbon Spherules via an Electron Microscope . I am inquiring how much specimen will be destroyed in order to do so and trying to ascertain if previously prep'd specimens at AMES were released ( shipped ) to Iowa DNRGSB at IA. City . If so , possibly no more of the original specimen need be sacrificed !

Besides rocks and railroads I also have the insane hobby of chasing severe weather. The NWS issued a PDS statement late on Sat. afternoon . That is a , not possible , not probable but PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION, they only issue this type of warning 2 or 3 times a year nationwide. I swore I wasn't going to chase but the firing line in my area was in perfect position and I had nothing but blue sky to my west . Only one storm in my area became a supercell and that's all it took. Even though my transmission had been acting goofy and I only had a little over 1/4 tank , I was off and running ! Had to end the chase about a mile N of Terra Haute ILL. I lost pavement there and had nothing but twisty windey gravel roads after that. Of course about 10 mi. past where I stopped that particular storm became tornado warned. I could have never caught up to it. I checked with NWS Quad Cities and confirmed something I was suspicious of. The storm had a NNE velocity of nearly 80 mph!!! Thats not tornadic winds, thats how fast the parent supercell was moving forward ! I think that set some kind of record ! LIFE IN THE FAST LANE!!!! I was thinking that no matter how fast I was blasting up the highway it was still pulling away from me. Oh well , that was just the first round .
Yep , I was so little at the time that my feet could not reach the "dead man's switch" . The engineer had to step on it for me. Some engineers kept a toolbox around to set on it so they didn't have to bother with it. If they got caught doing this they would get fired. Hell , if they got caught with me at the throttle the same results. My engineering occurred at night and on Hubinger Co. tracks where my parents held away! When I was hooping up train orders the Station Agent was holding on to my belt ! And you betcha , it was COOOOL ! I have a boat load of Geode photos in memory . One of these days while I'm cooped up I will release some of those. You Tube doesn't particularly like photos but so far I've gotten no complaints about video #1 which is kind of a hybrid! I finally got vid.#2 uploaded today, check it out !
